I don't know quite how to explain my 60-minute FLOAT experience, itself. I chose to have earplugs in with the low hum of meditation music, and no lights. You'd be surprised how buoyant our bodies are in salt water! The facilities are impeccable + sanitary. Beautiful + peaceful. Upon entering FLOAT Quad Cities, you will be met by Pink Himalayan salt chunks, authentic + pointed quartz crystals, peaceful music, and a friendly employee. The "scene" of this place is best described in one word: SERENITY. Personally, I struggle with anxiety + depression (as we ALL do, I'm finding as of late), and with the mental pain comes the physical pain. I was hoping to reach a point in my session where I could let go of all the extraneous + weighty thoughts that clog up my mind. I wanted to reach a place of complete reception. I can safely say that I was able to reach a point in those 60 minutes where I "let go". My brain started acting differently, as it was shooting endorphins throughout my entire neurological structure. All of the outside world's "noise" was silenced both on the external level + in my own mind. I could feel my spine "crack" a bit, as my entire back realigned itself, naturally. (This further strengthens my belief that our bodies know exactly what to do to heal it, only if we allow it) A+ A+ A+. I can't say enough amazing things about FLOAT Quad Cities + my experience. I would recommend this to ANYONE. If you are hesitant with "small spaces" of any kind, no worries! These are not "capsule tanks". They are Float Rooms. Rooms you can stand in. Please don't let that deter you from what I found to be one of the best things I could've done for myself. Thank you, FLOAT QC! And side note: your crystals are amazing! -Adam

When we got there, we started services, went to a waiting area for the massages and were told it wasn't booked as a couples, but they could do us separately so we reluctantly agreed. I went back, received a massage that was fine, but when I checked my phone my wife told me they never took her back. The story went from "your husband booked it wrong" to the masseuse had car troubles. They tried to offer other services that were not equal in value and we had taken PTO to have a relaxing day. They agreed to refund/not charge us. If it had ended there fine. BUT NOW. This owner is slandering my wife responding to a truthful review, saying she went ballistic and was violent, loud, and exposing herself. This is an absolute lie. Anyone who knows her knows she would never behave that way. Of course she voiced her frustration, but there was no screaming, or erratic behavior that the owner (WHO WASN'T THERE) describes in their pathetic response. The spa, by the way, did in fact charge me despite saying they wouldn't. Again, if they just admitted some fault and let it go, I probably wouldn't even dispute the charge since I did get a service. However, they told me they wouldn't charge, so they're going back on their word, and now even worse you're attacking my wife's character which is a complete lie and fabrication as a pathetic attempt to CYA. Well, now I will make sure your customers know the type of person they are dealing with. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT

I tried something new yesterday, an experience that came highly recommended. It turned out to be…read moresuch a remarkable experience that I think I need to share it. I spent an hour in a tank today. Huh? I stepped into a float tank where I experienced something called "flotation therapy." It's relaxation through sensory deprivation and believe me, it is relaxing. What is a float tank? Think of a shallow bathtub inside a phone booth. The tub is filled with water that is charged with Epsom salts. The salt content makes you buoyant so your body floats easily in ten inches of saltwater. I arrived early for my appointment because it was my first visit. There is paperwork to complete (electronically, welcome to the 21st Century) and I sat in the relaxation room to do so. The spa is a warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly guides who explain everything you need to know about your service. I entered the therapy room and in a cozy area, I quickly undressed. I stepped into the shower and washed off the daily grind, then carefully stepped into the chamber. It is lit with soft, blue light and relaxing synthesized music plays softly. I switched off the light but since music is a major part of my life, I let it play. (If you prefer, you can shut it off or you can play your own music through your cell phone via cable connection.) The experience of floating in total darkness is weird at first, but it didn't take long before I could feel every muscle relax and let go. I could also clearly hear the music underwater when my ears slipped below the surface. (Optional earplugs are provided and no, my face was never near submersion.) I had no sense of time passing. In the dark, and it is very dark inside the chamber, I felt sensations of movement. The chamber is, of course, small so my fingers, toes and the top of my head sometimes contacted the edge of the tub but I felt a sensation of motion like I was floating in circles. If I had to compare it to something, I would say it felt the way I imagine it would feel to be an astronaut, floating around the International Space Station or a Gemini capsule. My mind was racing for about half of the session but in a good way. Eventually, I felt a sense of peace sweep over me. Others who have experienced floating say they actually fall asleep. I don't remember falling asleep, but I do remember being very relaxed and all sense of time was lost. When the time limit was reached, a white light gently illuminated the chamber, signaling that my time was up. I stepped into the shower and washed off the salt, then quickly dressed and returned to the lobby. For that 75 minutes, the world simply melted away and I was simply floating in space, in my own private universe. Afterward, I was totally relaxed and could understand how a strand of spaghetti feels. I look forward to my next session, too! If you feel like you want to try this unique relaxation therapy, send me a private message and I'll give you the pertinent details. It's a luxury you owe to yourself.
