I had an appointment with H Duncan Dorris and it took just that appointment to know he wasn't taking me as seriously as I expected. At some point when I told him I tried everything I could (everything he prescribed) he said "then what are you doing here?" I swear I didn't just took off because I had to still pay the $50 copay, but he is one of the most unpleasant people I had an appointment with. this place was recommended by a friend and she said to try to get an appointment with the person that she sees, I'll do that and hopefully next time it will be a better experience read more

Horrible experience with Jeremy Davidson. I'm not sure how this guy passed his licensing exam. He completely downplayed my reaction to Retin A when I scheduled a follow up appt to address the issue. He was so condescending and rude that I literally had to walk out of the office after 5 min. He gaslighted me for not researching prices on the high pharmacy cost of this cream when the nurse had specifically asked me which pharmacy I go to for prescriptions. He obviously failed to look at my medical record to see that people with rosacea should not be prescribed Retin A. Beware of this provider. read more

I've had two MOHS procedures performed by Dr D'Souza. I'not given to loquacious reviews but my experience has been truly mind-blowingly positive. Dr D'Souza is genuinely concerned with his patients well-being as well as being an awesome doctor. My procedures were absolutely painless and have healed almost invisibly!. His expertise is matched by the most gracious and caring demeanor. His nurse Josh is amazingly well informed and kind. My review is about the MOHS surgery department. I am a RN (retired) so have been around medical offices a great deal. I had MOHS surgery on my left ear a few days ago. The receptionist was bubbly and friendly. She got me registered and had us sit in the waiting room. The offices were beautiful. After less than 10 minutes my nurse called me in. He said his name was Josh. Josh was very friendly as he led to the room. He did the preliminary workup as he was telling me what to expect. He then placed the local anesthesia in my ear. He did an excellent job and I felt almost no pain as he did it. A short time later Dr. D'Souza came in and introduced himself. He was very warm, articulate and very informative. He went over all the possible outcomes etc. which is always done before surgery. He got started and removed a slice of my ear. I was patched up and off to the waiting room to wait for the results. About 1 hour later Josh returned to say they got it all the first slice today. I returned to the procedure room and they gave me more anesthesia and got started on doing a skin graft. It took about 45 minutes for the procedure and they started bandaging my ear. I got lots of information on post-op care and was given supplies to do it with. All questions were answered and everything was explained. I left there feeling good, pain free (starting having mild pain and 4 hours later). It was the best experience I have ever had at a doctors office, and I have been to many. read more

My brother had a procedure done last week on his neck area. I can't say enough good things about Forest Dermatology! The entire staff is great!. Dr. D' Souza was excellent (my brother had the MOHS procedure done) and his assistant Chrissy was great also. My brother was very relaxed during the procedure and it went very smoothly. We both agreed that Dr. D'Souza was one of the friendliest doctors we had ever met. The office is beautiful and spotless. Very comfortable also. We highly recommend Forest Dermatology!!! read more

Had MOHS yesterday April 10, 2023 with Dr. D'Souza. The love for his patients and the excellent chair side care made this easy for me. He even called me that evening to see how I was doing. How rare is this? These are the qualities I look for in a physician. He is a number 10 in my book and so is his nurse Josh and staff. I don't wish to have another need for cancer surgery but if ever I do, I wouldn't think about going anywhere else! Thank you, Doctor, for your excellent care!! I wish I could give them a lower score. I went with my husband to Dermatologist Jeremy Davidson, who assured us we could not get the topical medication that we wanted, and that we should use a compounding pharmacy in Florida that wouldn't take our insurance. My husband took his word for it and signed, without me looking, to pay $60. When it came in the mail, it was just Doxycycline, which we could have gotten at our pharmacy using our insurance! This guy must get a kick-back from them. Since he lied about that, he would lie about other things! Don't trust him! read more

I had an appointment with Jenny in the medical spa. She was delightful and professional. She spent a lot of time listening to my concerns and recommended products as well as methods to improve my skin. She even sent me with a few samples along with one of the creams I purchased. I am so happy I have landed on a medical spa that cares about the patient. I highly recommend you go see Jenny at the Asheville location. I'm a charity case on Medicaid/care and Im losing hair due to a condition I can't manage because my referral ran out last year!!! I took Ronni to this practice four years ago. I was referred through our pediatricians' practice. It was nice- no complaints. I contacted Forest this past Monday- I explained to them that Ronni had been a patient long ago, and that the dermatologist in Waynesville was really booked. You know what?! They gave me an appointment for a few days later! Kim (?) was very nice, and even gave me directions on how to get to Forest. I requested a doctor, and I got one. The waiting room is very nice, and so are the employees. Dr. Sigmon checked out Ronni. He knew immediately what Ronni had on her body. Anyway, this practice is really busy, which shows that people like it. This is a good place. read more

I was very disappointed with my visit yesterday morning. When I first arrived, the office was very beautiful, but when I went to the receptionist, she was rude and short with me. I sat dowm to wait my turn and when an elderly man walked in, the receptionist was magically bubbly and friendly towards him even though he was also a new patient like I was. Im youmg, and have dark hair and piercings so when I used to live in Florida, I was accustomed to beimg treated poorly by older people. But I moved to asheville to be accepted, and so far I have fit in perfectly. There is no reason for that woman to have been so unplesant On to the doctors visit: the nurse was very friendly and started to make me feel more confident about my visit. I was there to see the doctor about a growth on my face, and since I had just moved from florida, I wanted him to check out my whole body for possible sun damage. Well I was asked to put on a gown before I even met the doctor, so when I met him I was already naked under a flimsy piece of cloth. He very quickly shined a flashlight on my face and told me there was nothimg wrong with it. He then looked at my arms legs and back, told me im fine, and left. The whole visit took maybe 5 minutes. He made me feel stupid for wanting to get checked and his hastiness made me feel like I wasted his time. In the future, I will find a doctors office where I feel welcomed and cared for. UPDATE: Good thing I got a second opinion because I had a CANCEROUS MELANOMA removed from my skin less than a year later by a wonderful doctor at ANOTHER practice. This doctor at Forest Derm didn't take me seriously and it could have cost me my life. What an idiot!!!! read more

While Dr. Sigmon seemed competent enough in examining my skin for precancerous or cancerous cells -- although the actual exam seemed superficial -- he was less than helpful in resolving my psoriasis. He basically said to learn to live with it and when it flared up really bad he would give me a steroid shot -- which is fine except I wanted to figure out what the underlying cause of my skin irritations were. He didn't seem interested in that. I went to a Naturopathic Doctor who diagnosed my skin issues as gut issues. We treated my gut and, not only was my gut much happier but my psoriasis and "age barnacles" cleared up. In fact my skin is much better than it has been in years. So I will not be going back to Forest Dermatology for treatment. read more

I called as a new patient, desperate since my scalp was itching fiercely and clearly something was wrong. They were able to get me in next day from a previous cancellation which was great! Another place I called told me November for a new appt! Then, I waited just a few minutes before being brought into the doc's office. Dr. Rebecca was fantastic! I started going to this Dermatology group in June. I had previously gone to another group that is on Medical Park Drive, and would not go back to that Doctor as I was treated very poorly. That MD came in and looked at me, saw the flakes and said you have a very bad scalp condition and gave me some oil that with insurance cost me $34., and went back out. Needless to say I did not go back. Dr. Justin Sigmond on the other hand has spent considerable time with me discussing this issue, and has listened and examined my skin and is working with me through various treatments in order to get this under control. I have always received timely and courteous service from the front office staff to the assistants in the back and by the MD's. I have been really satisfied with this office. read more

I had a wonderful visit with Dr Sigmon. He referred me to Dr D'Souza for surgery. I was welcomed by Amie. She was so friendly and made me feel at home. Jodi and Sarah made me feel comfortable in the room. They let me pick what music I wanted to listen to during surgery. I think I heard Sarah singing to the music. Lol. Jodi was so understanding when I asked her a million questions. During my surgery Dr D'Souza explained everything he was doing. They joked around and helped me relax. When I called Forest and explained my concern and inability to see a dermatologist, they worked me in within a few days and removed a squamous cell growth the same day.
