Had a horrible experience that left me with a large bruise all along the IT band of my right thigh!! Do not come here! I worked with Dr. Samir Zaqdan for four sessions. I came here after going to another PT office for about 10 sessions. I injured my right knee while hiking and was diagnosed with a possible meniscus tear. I was told that I may need surgery, but tried PT first. The previous office left me with left knee pain on top of my right knee issues. I was able to get an appt fairly quickly in January 2021 and the front desk person was very friendly and patient. The first couple of sessions were standard diagnostic, manual massage, stimulation machine, kinesio tape, and exercises. On my third session, I felt like I was in a torture chamber in a third world country. Dr. Samir, though I wonder if he should really be called a doctor, wanted to work on my right IT band which was really tight. I am not sure if he just used his hands or a tool, but he started doing a rolling motion along my IT band. It was painful and I flinched and told him it hurt. He said it had to be done and that I should count from 1 to 10 to ease the pain. I did as told, but it was soooo very painful. My eyes were clamped shut and fingernails dug into the flesh of my palm from the pain. I was writhing in pain, yet he kept working on my leg. Yes, I should have been more assertive and said no, this is too painful. However, I assumed that he was the professional and knew what he was doing. This was obviously not the case as I ended up with a huge bruise as pictured. I went back for my last session and he barely worked my leg. I assume to prevent more injury. Again, he said it had to be done. He is not a good listener, the golden rule of patient care. He saw that I was in a lot of physical pain and did not provide an alternative. He basically said suck it up and bite through the pain. He is not professional at all and should not be seeing patients. Perhaps I really should consider taking legal action as this was not right and no other patient should experience. read more

I'm not sure where to begin. I've found a place where I can get personalized physical therapy by an attentive doctor...and it is NOT at Forest Hills Rehab. I tried FHR because I live around the corner but was quickly turned off. The guy at the front desk is a flake. I don't know about anyone else, but if I go to a medical office or facility and am told (by him!) "I'll follow up with your insurance company and let you know what your benefits are" I expect to receive a little bit more information than what is printed on the front of my medical card. Thanks! I could have read that to you and asked you to repeat me and could have saved us both the full two days it took you to let me know. It's basically a people factory in here. Don't bother making an appointment because they aren't adhered to. If you ARE given an appointment, its not written down or noted anywhere. And don't dare actually showing up early or on time...you'll be ignored for atleast 45 minutes anyway. When you're finally called into the back, you are "assessed" for the first time...thoroughly. I will give them that. (Or maybe just Michael is thorough, he was the only reason I went back a second time.) Don't come though, if you don't have 2 hours for the first time and an hour every time thereafter. I was immediately treated as another piece of cattle. Nothing was explained unless I asked. The "trainer" or whatever she was in the back of the facility with the gym equipment, barely introduced herself. Then "showed" me how to do some exercises, while tending to someone else without making sure I was even doing it correctly. As I was nearing the end of the exercises, she told me I wasn't doing it right and tried to correct it. At this point I had been there over an hour and decided I was going to seek out another facility. Again the guy at the desk sounded as though I was doing him a favor by "reconsidering" and didn't seem concerned that they were going to lose a patient--who would potentially bring in 3 or 4 more! Saying "yeahhh....well.....your insurance isn't really that great anyway so you probably don't want to come back." .......WHAT???!?!? #1: ill decide whether or not I want to come back and #2: who are you to tell me what I'm able or "want" to pay outside insurance? This is definitely one of those places I left wondering how its even existing. Horrible business practices, awful customer service, and not a personalized, welcoming atmosphere. Forget about a thriving future here. The only star goes to Michael for being professional and informative. read more

The chiro and PT are nice people but I came here 8 weeks for a shoulder and neck injury and they could not solve the issue. It is a sad thing but the majority of PT and Chiro offices are businesses looking to get as many patients as possible in and out to make money just like forest hills rehab. Fortunately, I've found a one on one doctor who has improved me in one session more then forest hills has. The front desk receptionist mike is extremely incompetent. The trainer is pretty useless as well. The very bad part about this place is that they will assess you on your first appointment with about five people and make you feel like they know what they're doing and they're going to take care of you. From there on out, there was several days where I was rushed in and out of this place. Do not come here, especially if you have shoulder and/or neck pain. Find a doctor who is truly looking to work on you instead of giving you the same "treatment" everyday. I would have given this place one star but the chiro and PT and PA are nice. read more

I'm signed up for at least a dozen sessions here. I just finished my 2nd physical therapy session this morning. I absolutely am impressed with this place. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted right away and felt 100% welcome. I love the fact that I'm being seen by a team that works together to help me get better (physical therapist, physician's assistant, chiropractic doctor). When each one sees me, the one-on-one time is top quality. What I also love about this place is the fact that they're very personable. It's not just someone who comes in, does what they're supposed to do, then leaves. They talk to you. They make you feel comfortable. You have questions and they do their best to answer. I'm definitely 100% happy with my decision in choosing Forest Hills Rehabilitation. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a physical therapist. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNETHICAL PLACE. I was told on the phone TWICE that my insurance was accepted by them. I read every single word on my insurance card to the receptionist who assured me that they are on my plan. I even called three days prior to going there to verify and was told AGAIN that they take my insurance. I walked two miles to get there with a bad hip and was told that they are sorry, they DO NOT take my insurance. They had just finished telling the woman before me that SHE TOO WAS NOT COVERED under her plan even though she too called and was told they did. She too had to leave. To make matters worse, they made the other woman and I fill out paperwork and sit in the office for a half hour (holding the insurance card) before noticing that they did not take our respective insurance. They either have the MOST INCOMPETENT receptionist (which makes me question the quality of their therapists), or they INTENTIONALLY tell people they will take their insurance so that they get them into the office and hope they will wind up just paying out of pocket. This is the most unethical way to run a business and inexcusable to have a receptionist answering the phone who knows nothing. They are dealing with people who are in pain and should either be accurate in what they are saying, or tell patients that they themselves have to find out if their insurance with pay. I would rate them a zero but their water cooler had cold water on this 92 degree day. read more

I have been a patient at Forest Hills Rehab for over a year now ,and I am extremely satisfied with the excellent service provided by everyone at his very caring and competent rehabilitation center.Further,I previously had PT at a very good lower Manhattan facility ,but the travel and scheduling was not at all conducive to my needs ,and it required that I schedule my entire day around their schedule. Accordingly,I then did an exhaustive search for a Forest Hills facility that would not only provide the services I required ,but would accept my insurance ,and fit into my schedule ,and be in easy walking distance ,and Forest Hills Rehabilitation fit all those requirements ,and then some. I was particularly happy that Mike ,who handles the insurance end ,and is very patient caring and helpful not only was able to obtain Physical Therapy for me ,but to my extreme delight he was also to provide me with Chiropractic assistance,which has been nothing short of terrific,as the staff is caring,very professional ,patient ,and they always take the time to work with you.Thanks again,Mike. I recently returned for my PT and Chiropractic work ups after missing two months due to surgery and complications ,and once again Mike was able to obtain more session for me ,and the staff picked everything up from whence I left in June. Dr .Ray,is the great Chiropractor at Forest Hills,very knowledgeable,caring ,patient,and quite clearly enjoys people and taking excellent care of them. The Physical Therapists, Vanessa and Scott are very caring ,excellent providers ,patient and thorough.I also receive shots and taping when necessary ,and Elmer who provides that protocol ,is caring ,patient ,and extremely knowledgeable. When you are finished with the aforementioned great care, there is the gym in the back wherein they provide closely supervised physical therapy which includes all the machines and equipment that you necessarily require in Physical Therapy to assist you in getting well. The owners who are well established Doctors in the field of Physical Rehabilitation are also very caring ,thoroughly versed in all aspects as it pertains to rehabilitation,and as I have detailed they have hired excellent staff ,they work with your insurance ,and they make certain that you receive the very best possible care. So ,in summary I am extremely lucky to have found FH Rehabilitation ,in my neighborhood,providing great care ,done by excellent caring and patient staff ,and I highly recommend them to anyone needing these services. read more

I don't know what happened with Jessica, but I honestly think this place is as good as it gets - if you have the right insurance and do a little research beforehand, that is. I mean blindly showing up or making an appointment is one thing...I have had chronic back and neck pain/issues for the past 6 years (from the age of 13 to present), and after my first visit today, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative of what I got for my money. The good: - The doctors I was examined by all seemed to be competent in their fields, attentive, knowledgeable, and thorough in their diagnostics and assessments. - I ended up getting Michael, just like Jessica, and have to follow up on her comment. He is extremely thorough, found my numerous problem areas one after the other without any downtime, and overall just projects an aura of "I know what's wrong with you and I can help fix you up". - The ultrasound diagnostic was pretty thorough, and revealed what I had been sort of expecting: large amounts of scar tissue in my neck and similar amounts in my mid-upper back. There were a few bad things, but honestly these things are not in their control: - The decor is pretty old school, smacking of the 90s and in need of a renovation- but then again, I didn't come here to see the paint on their walls. - There WAS some downtime between my appointment and when I was ushered in to the back room. However, it was around 15 minutes - not good, not bad - Michael did tell me that they had some higher-grade treatments like ultrasound treatments for my back and neck - but my insurance didn't cover them. While they had other treatments that seemed good for my back, I was sort of put off by this, as ultrasound is one of the BEST treatments for dissipating scar tissue. However, I appreciate the fact that he was honest and told me what was good straight-up when I asked him about it - it's not their fault that my insurance sucks (friggin GHI). - To be completely honest, the desk dudes seem rather nonchalant. They weren't rude or inattentive or careless or anything, but they're definitely not happy to see you either. Some side notes: - The first visit honestly will probably take roughly two hours, as I experienced the same time. I got in slightly after 6pm (a little late because the place is rather hard to navigate) and got out a few minutes before 8pm. But this is due mostly to the initial assessment, diagnostic tests, and evaluations. After the first visit, it should probably be around an hour or so per appointment since they've got your information and treatment plan on file then. I decided to give this review 5 stars for a couple of reasons. For starters, the world is a case of you get what you pay for, unfortunately. I don't know why Jessica was all upset over her insurance (I mean I kind of got shafted by insurance too, but they gave me a treatment plan that should work 100% nonetheless, thankfully my chronic issues were due to habitual posture and muscle use problems), but what doctor is going to treat you if you can't pay them? Or for that matter, hospitals won't treat you if you don't have medical insurance, flat out. The medical staff is, as stated above, friendly, competent, knowledgeable, effective, and reassuring. They do the best they can for you within the means of your insurance, and unless you are suffering from major problems, I don't think that you'll do badly here. Bonus for figuring out my problems on day 1 (when 3 other doctors in the past had it all wrong to different degrees). read more

I have been attending Forest Hills Rehab for about 6 weeks now with lower back pain and sciatica. I have had consistently excellent intervention by Androu, PT. He has been punctual, reliable, friendly and effective. I have found all staff at this office to be professional and courteous. Androu and the PA are direct and informative as they explain every procedure and why. I was given exercises to do when at home and have felt improvement in my condition. I continue to attend therapy here and would recommend this office for treatment. read more
