Deeply irresponsible billing practices. Taking advantage of people in vulnerable situations. I really don't have much to say about the treatment itself, the therapeutic staff was nice enough. However, a year after my treatment I started getting notifications about bills that they had said were already settled by insurance at the time - including the first visit which I had double and triple checked was covered, and would never had set foot in the door if it were not covered by insurance. I got a call saying that their error meant it was not covered. I walked into their office after a major surgery, was assured it was covered by insurance, walked out after my co-pay being told it was done, and then got another bill a year after the fact. I spoke to their rep and expressed as much was was told "they'd look into it." I cannot distinguish if this issue came about because of incompetence or dishonesty, but neither is a great look. read more

I went to Millennium Physical Therapy for the past 5 1/2 months due to a pelvic fracture. This was the first time in my life that I had to go to rehabilitation therapy and I am glad that I went here. Not only was it close to home but everyone from the front desk receptionists to the therapists were extremely warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. My therapist Kris stuck with me through the whole five months and was not short of kind, patient, and determined. There were moments when I thought things wouldn't get better for me but Kris really eased my anxiety and informed me of the best exercises to help strengthen my pelvis, hips, knees, etc. He taught me to be patient and to keep up the work. Upon being taught those exercises and being advised to do them at home and at the gym, my walking and leg strength has improved so much that from an outside perspective I am pretty much normal. I have had three running injuries in the past 3 years - tore my left quadriceps tendon twice -surgically repaired - and then physical therapy at Millenium- this past September- while running tripped - flew and landed full weight on my out stretched left arm shattering the proximal end inside the shoulder joint. Had effective PT at Millenium all three times. It is also a warm snd friendly atmosphere - Dr Kris Lapurga is top notch and a great person. I highly recommend Millenium Physical Therapy in Astoria. I've been here for several different issues (none major). I was never given an evaluation and a treatment plan (outlining therapy, time frame, etc). In each of these encounters I was abruptly told: "Today's your last day; You're discharged." The therapists (on the other hand) were extremely good (given that you only dealt with then for about 10 mins). BTW: There seems to be a lot of turnover of the support staff. read more

I highly recommend this Physical Therapy group. I personally worked with Sayali for my recovery. Sayali created a individual program for my injury. Sayali was very consistent and professional. There are not enough words to express my fondness for the lovely staff at Millennium Physical Therapy. Hence I highly recommend these guys if you need PT. After a bogus move that led me to the ER with a swollen elbow, fast-forward to two months unattended before setting foot in Millennium Physical Therapy, I was struggling with excruciating pain daily. From day one, I felt at home. Between getting care from Ride and Kris, my journey to healing began. Triceps tendonitis was 80 percent healed fairly quickly with massages and exercises, but then an even worst pain arose: tennis elbow. That, too, was set in motion to recover with the help of Ride and Kris. Across the course of 3 months, I basked from being taken care of by these two guys who became to be my pals. I liked that they worked with my sporadic schedule and arranged to squeeze me in at short moments' notice. A special shoutout goes out to Oscar for ice and cranking up the electronic wires to higher levels than what my baby self could take. Unfortunately for me, I have had to go for PT on and off (mostly on!) for the past two years. I have been going to Millennium for all of my PT needs, and I must say that the staff is wonderful, they are all friendly and accommodating. Over these past two years I have used several therapists. Without exception, I can honestly say that one of their newest PT's, Sayali is the best that I've had. She's a perky, friendly, energetic (and strong!) young woman, and she has helped me in the challenge of bending my knee after knee replacement. Months after knee replacement, I had gotten a build up of scar tissue and I needed help after having had an additional surgery where they scoped out the scar tissue. They are all great. I mostly worked with Sayali but I ended up seeing Kris, Teddy, Ride and -I think his name was - Carlos because my schedule was all over the place the last two months. The people at the front desk and the aides working with the therapist are all professional and personable. Shout out to Roger and Oscar who were also great with me. I went for my torn meniscus after I had surgery on it about a month prior (the delay was due to crap with my insurance). Because of the delay Sayali had me go quickly through PT to get mobility back before the insurance ends the visits. Some of the sessions were tougher because of this rushed process. It would have been to test some different methods to gain mobility (which I learned about later on) rather than the one we kept doing. Other than that it was great. read more

I met Sayali after I had ACL reconstruction & meniscus repair surgery at HSS. This woman knows her stuff! From my first appointment she was very kind & made me feel at ease. There was so much fear I had to overcome after my injury and Sayali really helped me do that. I always felt safe in her hands. She really listens to how your feeling and applies that feedback to your treatment plan. She also knew when to push me further than I thought I could go, but also knew when I needed to be babied. Sayali and the rest of team would stay close by while doing my strengthening exercises to ensure I was doing them properly. Everyone in this office played a role in my recovery. Joseph had a way of distracting me when I had to push through some painful exercises and Crystal was so encouraging as I made progress. Oscars' years of experience helped me work through new exercises to make sure I got it right. I can still hear the pointers they gave me. The wonderful women at front desk were awesome accommodating appointments w my schedule & staying on top of needed progress evaluations required by insurance so I had no issues. Well first of all thank you guys for being here every day for your patients. Without you and your professionalism and knowledge I wouldn't be able to get through the day with all the pain and discomfort that I have been dealing with for a long time. I have been suffering from low back pain, and left leg pain due to sciatic nerve for a very long time and it has only gotten worse in the past few months to the point that I had developed a limp. The pain was so bad that I couldn't sit for too long, stand, walk or lay down, I was hurting non stop. MRI shows L5/S1 bulging disc. Dr. Sayali and Oscar brought me back to life in a few sessions. During my first appointment I felt desperate thinking this pain will never go away and I will never stop limping. But with each and every visit I'm seeing progress and I follow the instructions on how to properly stretch at home every morning and night. I am still not at my 100% because I just recently started the therapies but I can push through the pain now during the day without painkillers which is a good sign. It's okay. There isn't much attention paid when you're doing exercises so PT doesn't know when to advance you and I fell very far behind. No consideration was made for my physical ability. I had to ask to get to the next step. I had covid, cancelled my appointments, never heard from them or had follow up about payment discrepancies on their part. I have since changed PTs and have caught up to where my recovery is suppose to be. I was there after having ACL surgery. read more

I have been going to this place for several months. I have to say that Kris the physical therapist is wonderful and I highly recommend him. He is very nice, professional and always sweet. I enjoyed dealing with him. In opposite of that the guy that is supposed to help you with the machine exercises who I believe his name is Oscar can be rude and his personality can come across very unpleasant. You never hear the word 'hi or please' coming from him, he always use his mandatory tone giving you directions. Many times he pushes your body without giving you any instructions when you are doing the exercises, very uncomfortable. Be prepared to hear from him saying words like 'come here' like he is talking to his pet. Today when he was being instructed of how to do an exercise and I pointed that my issue was with the other shoulder his answer was 'come on Martha' like it was my fault. He was the one that set up everything for me to do the exercise with that side of my body. Honestly the least that you expect going to this kind of places and paying for those non inexpensive fees that they know what part of your body they are treating. I understand anyone can make a mistake but his way to address it was totally unacceptable and disrespectful. I decided to speak to the manager to explain the situation and hoping that she was going to address his behavior but I only heard how she took his side mentioning for how long according to her she worked with him. I'm sorry but her job as a manager is to make sure customers are getting a good service. Probably his interaction with her manager has been completely different that the one that he is having with the patients. People go to these kind of places hoping to deal with employees that are welcoming, friendly and polite especially when you are dealing with a lot of pain; unfortunately this guy comes across like he is always unhappy or upset and for sure not enjoying what he is doing. He yelled at me in front of the other patients. I have a management degree and I have been working in the medical field for a long time and for sure the manager of this office has a lot to learn. She came across like someone without proper training or qualifications for the position. Thanks to her approach dealing with the situation this practice lost a patient and got a negative review. Great job manager keep up with the good work!. I decided to cancel all my upcoming appointments and find another place. read more

Thank God!! I've been going to Millennium Physical Therapy, Astoria, New York office. I suffer from severe osteoarthritis. This ailment has required me to have a full hip replacement early this year and two full knee replacements to follow next year. Their staff is amazing!! I tore my ACL playing roller derby and had ACL reconstruction surgery on my right knee 8 weeks ago. For the first 6 weeks after surgery, I was going to another physical therapy place in Queens. It was on my surgeon's recommended list of PT places, but I was dissatisfied. It felt more like a physical therapy farm, and as an athlete who has been skating 4-5 days/week and seeing a personal trainer for years, I wanted something more challenging and individualized. I found Millennium on the Hospital for Special Surgery's website (they are part of the HSS Rehabilitation Network). It's walking distance from my apartment on Astoria, and the website says the sessions are one-on-one, so I decided to give it a shot. Millennium Physical Therapy is small but rarely crowded. I've worked with 3 different therapists there and I like them all. The sessions are mostly one-on-one; I've found that at most the therapist is bouncing between working with me and one other person, or bouncing between me and filling out paperwork. They have a few TVs so I've been able to watch the World Cup games while icing or riding the stationary bike. My only regret is not switching PT places sooner. Seriously. I've noticed so much improvement in my quad strength in just the 3 weeks I've been going. If I wasn't moving to DC shortly, I'd be really excited to finish out my remaining months of PT here. read more

I'd give more stars if I could. I've been here a few times cause I keep getting injured! They are KIND, VERY CLEAN, knowledgeable and professional. All the therapists are great - sayli, Kris and teddy. Kris js my favorite. He always knows what to do, how to treat you better than most doctors. He's also fun, and provides the right treatments to do at home as well. I also appreciate the amount of time he spends with me prior to doing exercises so I'm warmed up properly and he massages the joints to wake them up. I started coming in December 2015 for a repaired patella tendon tear, with my mobility and range of motion severely restricted. A long and slow recovery, but making progress thanks to the awesome staff here. Marina is absolutely fantastic, and shares in my struggle to get my knee moving again, including celebrating when I hit certain milestones. All the therapists- Luis, Sarah, Chris, Oscar- are friendly and engaging, and help with the exercises and keeping you motivated, the right balance of pushing you when you need it (I call Oscar my drill sergeant lol) but making sure that it's within your capabilities. The front staff are upbeat and welcoming.The facility is a bit on the small side, but this actually is good for more personalized service, and I've never had to wait or felt unattended to. I still have several more weeks ahead of me, but I am confident the staff will help me continue in progressing! read more

It's been over 2 years since I last had to visit and was pleasantly surprised to see that most of the staff is still there. The staff is very knowledgeable and take their jobs seriously. I had a partial meniscus tear and partial ACL tear or rupture on the same knee from playing soccer. I was initially going to get surgery and came in for pre-surgery physical therapy. Peter Park was my main PT during my 5 months there and was extremely helpful to my healing process. He made sure I pushed myself to do my at home exercises, which really accelerated my leg strength & mobility. He knew exactly when I would be good to start running and start playing soccer. He also encouraged me to go get a second opinion on my knee and consequently I found a new ortho that I love and advised against surgery and focus on PT.
