Given the number of bad reviews this place has already, they probably won't care that I posted…read morethis, however, I'm going to anyway because people need to know that they should not put their loved ones here. My 89-year old aunt was a resident for a month until yesterday, when my cousin sent me a picture so shocking that I told her to call 911 and get her out of there. I was put on the phone with a nurse named Fina, who started to explain that my aunt was deteriorating rapidly. Fina was right, because they were busy making believe she wasn't there. She was neglected. I asked her why they weren't providing basic nursing care: turn every 2 hours to protect her skin; oral care i she wasn't eating or drinking (she was when she got there). They weren't monitoring urine output: her bladder was distended and she has a raging urinary tract infection. Fina got defensive, said she didn't have to talk to me (she's right, but I got my point across). I've been a nurse for over 30 years. I have a doctorate in the profession. I can tell when a vulnerable elder has been neglected. I know when bad nurses hurt people. My aunt was admitted to the ICU with a huge, infected bedsore she didn't have before Cedarwood, and is in septic shock. If she had been bathed, someone would have seen the decube before it got so big. I will never get over seeing that sore on the last of my mother's sisters, who cared for me like their own. She will probably not come out alive. All because she got old, and a faceless corporation needs to keep beds full so they can make money. Monday is a new day, and I will have phone calls to make. You don't want to see the pictures.

People are friendly and the food is very good with plenty of variety. Services are what I was looking for with lots of activities available if you wish to participate. The one complaint I have is that the dinner hour here is planned too early. However, all in all, this Ohio Living adult Independent Living experience is all I was told it would be.

Let me start by saying I would let a dog or my worst enemy stay in this crap place. I stayed in…read more 2022 from a broke femur. I never once saw a glass of water, I had drinks brought to me, the one drink offered was coffee but the bitched and moaned about refilling a 5 ounce glass. I mean really a child drinks more than that in a juice boxes each day. A sippy cup was larger than this cup.... I was also told by this lady that was older than father time to shut up and quit complaining she futher explained that I wasn't a priority because they had more than me too take care of and with that she slammed the door and refused to answer the the buzzer. I couldn't even get out of bed without assistance so I had to sit there and take it.... The next day I was allowed to get in my wheelchair so i wheeled myself out to get my own coffee and once there the day nurse said she would get it and all of the sudden the old nurse there asking what I was doing SO I SAID getting the coffee that you don't have time to get in a loud voice!!! Then all of the sudden I was the center of attention and they at the nurses' station began to ask who I was SO I SAID it's me Marie (said my whole name) and if you have a problem I am in room 218 you can COME HERE if you got a problem and slammed the door behind me, like it was slammed the day before!!!! I had a visitor and she knew one of the workers a nurse, she actually said are you here to get her (meaning ME) I am so sick of her SHIT... I wished I could get out of bed and would have showed her what I was about, but my friend calmed me down... this is the worst place I could imagine any one too be. My guy across the hall fell 10 times and they wouldn't respond to his buzzer so I started turn mine on so they would answer 2 lights and they couldn't be at the ready because they were watching more than one section at a time and doing laundry... Once they even came in whilst I was sleeping and yelled my name out because they said they thought I was dead because I took my sleep medications, so they started a joke saying I was the dead lady... Really all went through wont begin to cover this review..... JUST KNOW THAT YOU SHOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE PUTTING ANYONE THAT YOU LOVE IN THIS FACILITY THEY ARE TOTALLY other INCAPABLE.... There was 2 highlights was there were some staff that knew there job, 1 nurse on the morning staff just 1, the nurses on second shift helped more than day shift other than that there was no reason for me too stay so I tried to call my PCP but because they were UH my PCP couldn't help but I had to get out of this shitty place... SO i threatened bodily harm and I was finally after 2 days of saying it I was released home on the 3rd day, with nothing no walker no wheelchair for home. THANK GOD for Cleveland Clinic my PCP jumped in both feet and got me all that I needed and a nurse, home Physical Therapy... I will NEVER make this mistake again IN LIFE!!!!! JUST DON"T IS MY RECCOMMENDATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The building itself is always clean, homey and well-decorated (non-institutional). Much thought has been given to creating a pleasant experience for visitors and residents alike. Garden areas are wonderful during spring, summer and fall for walks, bird watching, gardening. There are plenty of events, celebrations to meet various interests/abilities. They have just built a new addition which was handled in such a creative, thoughtful way -- residents' lives remained normal and calm despite construction. Plus, it is beautiful! Most important, I am thrilled with the level of care, concern and genuine affection/compassion the staff provides and exhibits toward my mother, as well as the other residents. Patience, understanding, creativity and sense of family are very evident whether a resident's family member is present or not. Nurses and caregivers have gone out of their way to meet my mother's needs and mine as well -- so I'd don't need to guess how she is doing. They share anecdotes of what she's said or done during the day; if she's happy, sad; ate well/or not so well; was up all night or slept well -- without my asking. This is very important to me as her primary caregiver. They are truly extensions of me and do it better than I ever could at this point in her journey. We are both blessed to have found such a wonderful place for her to live.
