My 89-year old aunt was a resident for a month until yesterday, when my cousin sent me a picture so shocking that I told her to call 911 and get her out of there. I was put on the phone with a nurse named Fina, who started to explain that my aunt was deteriorating rapidly. Fina was right, because they were busy making believe she wasn't there. She was neglected. I asked her why they weren't providing basic nursing care: turn every 2 hours to protect her skin; oral care i she wasn't eating or drinking (she was when she got there). They weren't monitoring urine output: her bladder was distended and she has a raging urinary tract infection. Fina got defensive, said she didn't have to talk to me (she's right, but I got my point across). I've been a nurse for over 30 years. I have a doctorate in the profession. I can tell when a vulnerable elder has been neglected. I know when bad nurses hurt people. My aunt was admitted to the ICU with a huge, infected bedsore she didn't have before Cedarwood, and is in septic shock. If she had been bathed, someone would have seen the decube before it got so big. I will never get over seeing that sore on the last of my mother's sisters, who cared for me like their own. She will probably not come out alive. All because she got old, and a faceless corporation needs to keep beds full so they can make money. Monday is a new day, and I will have phone calls to make. You don't want to see the pictures.

Our mother suffered a debilitating stroke at a fairly young age and was not ready to even think about nursing or assisted living care. After many months of in hospital therapy and a short stay in assisted living, with the help of Nick and his group she was able to move back home where they provide daily help to her as she continues her recovery. Cannot say enough about the wonderful care that she receives from Adam and Karen. They help with everything from laundry, house-cleaning, walking the dog, going to appointments, cooking/prepping food, personal grooming to simple daily companionship. Adam and Karen are very considerate and have been so very wonderful to her. They do anything she asks them to do and she is very happy with them. The whole group at Blue Dots Cares is very knowledgeable and they have worked with our family to make sure we have the best caregivers to meet our needs. We are very pleased and would highly recommend Nick and group to anyone looking.
