We got married here last weekend and I wanted to give a huge shoutout to the Forest House Lodge staff. The weather forecast changed drastically last minute (literally went down 20 degrees in one week with huge rain). They reassured us by having three backup plans and we did not have to make a decision until one hour prior to ceremony for them to set up or change sites (indoor vs outdoor). While we were dying to have an outdoor ceremony for the amazing view, we ultimately decided to have the ceremony indoors and it was amazing. They transformed the space into this super intimate and beautiful ceremony and I can't help but feel it's how it was meant to happen. We were also lucky enough to have a ten minute break in weather so we ran up to the ceremony site to take pictures with our photographer. The ceremony was beautiful, the food was delicious, and we felt like we were in such great hands with the forest house lodge staff. read more

Attended a wedding here a few months back. It rained the day of the wedding so they had to move it inside. The lodge itself is old & some would say a bit outdated but it is still a beautiful venue. I guess they offer packages for wedding guests to be able to stay overnight but I opted to stay in the next town over, Auburn, where there's more options for things to do & places to eat. read more

We had the priveledge of providing wedding flowers for our amazing bride and groom, Andria and Kevin at their chosen venue, Forest House Lodge. This was my first time at Forest House Lodge and I am absolutely blown away at the facilities, service team, management team, venue assets and truthfully the style of the entire place. A wedding at Forest House is more than just a great party. There are spectacular hotel rooms for guests, an amazing speak-easy basement filled with activites for entertainment. Gorgeous patio surrounded in wisteria. The kitchen is first rate with full food service options and sunday brunch for guests. Our couple were able to select every decor item they could ever want from the free selection offered by the venue. The staff were incredibly professional, all knew exactly what their responsibilities were and all were so polite and helpful when asked questions. Our flowers looked spectactular out at the stunning ceremony site overlooking the American River Canyon and equally spectacular in the reception areas. I cannot emphasize enough what a great choice it was getting married at FHL. We opted for a winter two-day package, and can't rave enough about the experience and memories we made there. My guests are still recovering from the fun (nearly two weeks later). The staff was attentive, fun, and highly experienced in all the ins and outs of wedding planning. As a type-A personality, I was worried about my wedding vision coming to life as we neared wedding day, but our coordinator, Clara, listened to my vision, responded to my millions of emails, and ultimately provided me with a wedding day even better than I could have curated in my own mind. I have yet to see another venue that offers couples the opportunity to host a rehearsal dinner, rehearsal after-party, wedding day (at the most beautiful ceremony site imaginable), wedding reception, late night after-party, lodging for you and your guests, all the food and drinks (throughout the two days), in a lodge entirely booked and committed to you and your wedding. Five Stars: Would definitely recommend you get married here. The staff is superb. Kind, helpful, engaging, thoughful... I have attended two weddings here, and both have been memorable. 1) The view from the ceremony sight is breath taking. It's a quick drive from the lodge, yet it is quiet and secluded. There is a definite ere of elegance to it. 2) The food! The first wedding I went to, the served oyster. First class all the way. The second wedding, had pre-ceremony appetizers, cocktail hour with different apps, and a prime rib buffett. 3) The venue itself has a nice courtyard for cocktail hour, ample room for a dance floor, and a fully stocked entertainment basement for an after party. 4) Professional staff. It is clear that this venue has it down. We had our wedding here 8/05/2022 after multiple postponements due to COVID and I cannot begin to express how wonderful the entire team here at FHL is. From our first tour with Jennifer to the amazing tasting with the Chef and the big weekend with our coordinator Shaye, we were lovingly handled through what can be an intense and long process. First, we chose to have our wedding here because we wanted to maximize time with family and friends, have amazing food, and be surrounded by breathtaking views. This place hit all the marks and then some. We booked the Friday night wedding package and were able to spend so much time with our guests starting Thursday night at the rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks and ending with Saturday breakfast. The Forest House Lodge staff really are a fine tuned, efficient and professional group. They move effortlessly through the Lodge doing their jobs but are always willing to stop and answer questions. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The building is rustic and beautiful at the same time. The wedding I attended last week was breathtaking. The view behind the bride and groom made for gorgeous photos, the weather was perfect. After the ceremony, we returned to the Lodge for the reception. The guests gathered on the outdoor patio where we enjoyed the most delicious appetizers. Casually orchestrated, the wedding party came down the outdoor staircase followed by the bride and groom, not a dry eye in the place! We had dinner and danced the night away. As the night went on, they continued to provide appetizers. The next morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. We got married here on May 2nd, 2021 after unfortunately postponing our wedding in July of 2020. All I can say is that it was 100% worth the wait. We had Tuana as our wedding coordinator and she was so attentive and made our vision come to life; I told her I wanted simple decor with a vintage touch and it was everything I ever dreamed of. We chose not to have flowers at the ceremony site because it's already so beautiful, and I'm so happy we chose to do that - the ceremony site looked absolutely amazing with barely any decor! Huge shout out to Trever, the main bartender, and Jaxson also who made sure our guests had all the libations they needed to have a great time. We got so many compliments on the bartenders throughout the night and weeks afterwards. Make sure you tip well, they deserve it. The food was amazing, although my husband and I barely ate because we were too excited to see our (almost 150!) guests, we got so many compliments from our guests about how great the food tasted. Their menu is huge and they are very accommodating for people with allergies or dietary restrictions. Two of our guests were vegan, and when I saw how huge and delicious their meal looked, I was so happy we could accommodate them! Everything was so organized and I never felt stressed out. Tuana even did my bustle after the ceremony and had Advil waiting for me back at the lodge after our picture taking because my back was really killing me. The little 20 minute "alone time" session you get with your brand new spouse was amazing, we got to relax, have a drink, and eat our cocktail hour appetizers. It was really special. We never once felt rushed to do anything and like I said before, WE NEVER FELT STRESSED! Which was so important to me because I get stressed out very easily. The whole entire day just went so smoothly. I also have to comment about the price. For what you get, the value is amazing. We wanted to try to keep cost somewhat down so we decided to do a Sunday wedding, and it was worth every penny. You not only get the whole entire venue, you get an amazing view at the ceremony site, a wedding coordinator who caters to your every need and vision, a delicious cake, all of the food for the wedding including "midnight drunk snacks", the start of a bar tab, and so much more. I honestly cannot give enough recommendations for this place. Such a beautiful venue, the ceremony spot has an amazing view that creates an absolutely stunning backdrop. The building for the reception is the perfect combo of beautiful and fun. The patio lit up with twinkle lights is so pretty for dancing and bringing the after party downstairs to the themed rooms with games was even more fun. We are so glad we chose Forest Hill Lodge to be the venue for our 2020 wedding. Our first impressions are friendly staff (expect everybody to welcome & smile at you while you're here!), beautiful deco, perfect forest-theme location and most importantly an all-in-one package. The full wedding coverage was so crucial for us, because we did not have to worry about catering, venue, cake or million other things, unlike other places. A big shout out to Tuana Hunt, our wedding coordinator. I could not believe how ours could turn out to be without her being there on the day. She took care of everything; we were nervous at first but become relaxed because we were in good hands. She is the sweetest, most hard-working and understanding coordinator ever. I can't speak enough about how wonderful this venue is! We were recently married at the venue and it was literally our dreams come true! From the first day we met with Julie, we were hooked! Julie answered our questions and took us around the lodge. She is amazing! Then we met with our wedding coordinator, Tuana! There's not enough words to express how amazing this woman was! She helped me along the way, was so easy to work with, and most importantly saw my vision and made it work! The bar and the bartender are incredible as well! Food amazing! Wedding site.....a view you can't get at most places! The only one negative I have is that the water was cold and hot. So with that said remember it's a historic lodge. BUYER BEWARE! As we are continuing this issue, I can confirm what FHL lacks in integrity, they are abundant in false promises and shady contracts. For a business to capitalize on circumstances such as pandemics and natural disasters with ZERO services rendered is disgusting. These are events that will be subsidized/ reimbursed by insurance and also recently by state and federal entities. But hey, why do the proper leg work when you can hang on to customers money while providing ZERO services? Despite constant communication on our part and very little response (the only being "everything's fine") , we were left with 3 days to resurrect an event 1 year in the works. And for context : The "sorry it's so close to your wedding date but you can reschedule some day in the next calendar year" bit falls INSANELY flat considering, if roles were reversed and I provided just 3 days notice of cancellation for my wedding day, I would have no ground to receive money back. It's ok for them to do it to us though ... hmmm . Disregard all out of state flights, hotels, rentals, time off from work, and continuous reassurance that everything was fine from the venue. Let me just say this place is the PERFECT VENUE. I had a bigger wedding party and 90% of my guests were from out of town. Service: Perfect. Everything you need, they have already telepathically knew ahead of time (comes from experience) Amber, Jennifer, Valerie, Monica, and the rest of the staff... You guys are a dream team. I had a came down with a cold & Fever the day before my wedding, and you had my back the night before and the day of. They were all responsive to make sure i had everything i needed and more. Thank you for making it my perfect day. Ambiance: this place is/was my jam. It's rustic cabin cozy feeling. it feels exclusive tucked into the forest area. All the guests had said it was one of the most beautiful and most unique wedding venues they have been to. Three floors: top- the rooms. Middle-dancing and eating Bottom: the party game room floor. Pls look it up on the website. Price point: No one would believe the price point which i got for a thursday/friday wedding along with all the amenities. I had a budget and it was amazing how much they did and the quality for the budget i put in. For everything they did for me, you get more than what you pay for. Food: above and beyond. My family still complains that they only do weddings. I cannot count how many requests i have gotten from family members that have wanted to eat there and asked what time the restaurant side opens... only to be utterly disappointed that they don't have a restaurant, all the food is made in-house by their executive chef and staff, and that it is exclusive to Forest House venue. They have asked my anniversary be there so they can eat and stay there again. It's crazy. EVERYTHING was delicious. Also my family is EXTREMELY picky (AKA Foodie nazis) when it comes to food, and i have several chefs and cooks in my family that came. My favorite? The seafood pasta shells, prime rib, and of course my gorgeous and delicious cake. THE WEDDING CAKE: I hate fondant -absolutely hate it. It doesn't taste like food to me. Other cake places have told me i cannot have the cake i imagined without it. Monica made my cake EXACTLY how i wanted it, totally customized, and when i saw it, i cried. the icing on the top (pun intended)... The cake (and slicing) comes with your venue package. As my mother says, "This place was worth it for the food alone." Wedding Coordination: Amber, you are the best. The very, very best. I cannot sing more praises about this woman. I was sick like a dog the day before, bridezilla cried from feeling sick the morning of, stressed out if my laryngitis would kick in and i couldn't say my vows, and she just took over and made it perfect. ( I was able to say my vows and walk down the aisle, which was a miracle from God, i tell you.) Forest House goes above and beyond to make sure everything goes to plan, and adheres to the vision that the bride and groom provided. Where do I even start? We had the best, most fun and beautiful wedding at the Forest House Lodge. Our wedding coordinator was Chenoa and she was truly a lifesaver and an amazing teammate in planning and executing our wedding. We had a couple extra special touches we wanted at our wedding and Chenoa was there every step of the way putting us at ease, fighting our battles, and doing whatever she could to make the day absolutely perfect for us. The staff at the FHL is also truly wonderful. As the bride, they made me feel like everything was handled and I had zero worries on the big day. They also provided us with amazing service and extra special touches and surprises we weren't expecting throughout. They really know how to put on a wedding, and they really know what the happy couple needs. The drinks were great, the food was top-notch, and everyone agreed that this wasn't your typical wedding fare and many people told us how great the food was. The day after we were still reeling from how smoothly everything went and how truly perfect our big day was. Finally, the venue. The ceremony site is breathtaking. The patio for cocktail hour is beautiful. The reception area is amazing and a great place to keep the party flowing nicely all evening. The "playroom" for the afterparty is so fun and has something for everyone. The rooms offered are just what your guests need after a night of partying, and breakfast the next day? I can honestly say that our wedding was a dream come true, thanks to the FHL. The ceremony was exquisite. Walking down the aisle overlooking that backdrop was like a dream. Julie was who we initially worked with when we booked and she is great. She was willing to meet us when businesses were first closed due to Covid. (Engaged May 2020!) We booked a year and a half in advance so that we hopefully wouldn't have to push back our date. She was very easy to work with. Trevor is a truly lovely human and an extremely great bartender. Working with Jennifer throughout the last year to pay our bill, was great! She's so understanding, easy to get in contact with and so sweet. Our banquet staff were very friendly (I hope our friends and family were nice to them), and so quick to help our guests! Our banquet manager Laura was so good at communicating, getting things done, and staying on schedule. Also a major sweetheart! Our coordinator, Tuana literally "understood the assignment" in every possible way. She was so sweet to work with and did an amazing job planning and keeping up with me and my very indecisive self! She spoke with Monica (brilliant baker) and the chef to make sure that we had gluten-free options(extremely accommodating). If I could go back and change anything, it would be that I had eaten more food! Typically as a bride, I didn't eat enough. :D To say the least, the food and desserts were to die for. Breakfast in the morning was of course delicious as well. And everyone of my guests told me later that all the food was absolutely amazing!! My husband and I wish we could go back and do it all over again, just so we could experience that wonderful day. It was a magical day for us. This review is only for the site tour that my partner and I went on while looking at wedding venues. First things first: Julie was amazing. From the moment she greeted us in the lobby, to providing us with documents about pricing and FAQs about the property, it was all the information I could have asked for as an event planner. She was friendly and thorough and did the best she could to show off all the unique and wonderful things that sets Forest House Lodge apart from other venues. The on-site lodging is super convenient for guests, and I really loved the downstairs area with the game room, karaoke, and extra general space to hang out. Between the main floor, the rooms upstairs, the outdoor patio and garden, and the basement/game room area, and the all-inclusive pieces like on-site catering, use of their collection of decor - you get a lot of bang for your buck at this place! The kicker was the ceremony location itself. It's a short drive away from the lodge, but when you get there - WOW. I saw photos from Instagram but was not at all prepared for how breathtaking the view was in-person. It was a difficult decision, but we ultimately decided to go with another venue. However, I will say that if I had chosen this as my venue, I would have been in fully capable hands with Julie and had a great place to celebrate with loved ones. Highly, highly encourage you to take a tour if you're considering this place - even if you don't book, the drive up is gorgeous and there really are no words for the ceremony outlook. read more

If I could give a ten star review, I would. We had our son's wedding at this venue and it was perfect. Forest House staff go above and beyond to make the special day, well- special. Some comments: First, the ceremony site is just unbelievable. It was breathtaking. It's perfect for an outdoor wedding. (We bussed guests to it for convenience but it is a short drive from the Lodge). The event space at the Lodge is roomier than it looks in photos and it has a nice mountain lodge ambience. The Lodge is aptly named. The after party space was so fun and it's such an added value. The food was tasty and nicely prepared. Place settings were nice. The cake was beautifully presented and tasty. Forest House does a day after buffet breakfast which was great and such a nice bonus. Planning a wedding is a chore. There are a lot of moving parts and things to think about. An advantage with Forest House is that the ceremony site, reception site, food, cake, drinks, and accommodations for the wedding party and family, and an after party site are all handled. Pricing is competitive and I think the Lodge is a value. Forest House maintains a list of trusted vendors for things like photography, music (DJ), and transportation. We used these vendors and we couldn't have been more pleased. They are familiar with the site and the wedding and reception proceeded smoothly. The Forest House Lodge has a floor of rooms which are available for the wedding date. Think rustic country charm on the ambience. Note : the Lodge is a historic building so access to the accommodations is by stairs. Regarding staff, GM Jennifer Price was gracious, detail oriented, friendly, and responsive. Our daughter in law reported that Wedding Coordinator Alex Correa was on top of everything, reassuring, and friendly. She made things run smoothly. Trevor, the bar manager/tender, was friendly and a total pro. He had on point and timely information on the best way to manage the drink tab. Note: It's optional to have a tab. The contract includes drinks. There were a bunch of support staff, whose names I don't know, who all contributed to our event. There was a community wide event occurring the same day as the wedding and these staff members went out in the hot sun to save parking spaces for our guests! Arrived from the Bay Area early. This venue is only minutes from Auburn and Hwy 80, straight into the most gorgeous foothills scenery. Close enough to civilization, and yet removed from the sounds of cars and noise. Our room was quaint and cozy. The shared bathroom was just fine. The wedding site up the road 1 mile, was the most spectacular vista. Reception was so lovely and the cocktail hour and dinner delicious. Staff was so friendly and very professional and accommodating. From the second we met Julie and did our walk thorough, we were set on getting married at this magical place. We got to see the lodge and the ceremony space, over the next few months we were invited to the lodge for various events and were always so impressed by how smoothly they ran. Our coordinator was Tuana and she was AMAZING! She helped me with all the details I was struggling with, design different parts of the reception space and was always there to answer a question or give advice. On top of great staff, we got the opportunity to meet the owners and they are so sweet and clearly care about their employees and the couples who get married at their venue. This review is a little late, I apologize, however it has taken me this much time to reflect on this amazing experience. We were married on September 18th, 2020 with our original date of July 31st 2020 having to be rescheduled due to COVID. I cannot say enough great things about this place in a review, but I will try. From the beginning of our journey with the Forest House Lodge, it was absolutely meant to be. Our first meeting with Jennifer Price in March of 2019 was nothing short of wonderful. She sat with us and went over all of the details, answered all of our questions and there was no pressure to book right away, even though we did! She gave us the grand tour and even took us to the ceremony site in the snow!! It was gorgeous as expected and even though we couldn't see all of the details of the grounds we were won over between the venue itself and Jennifer's great personality and charm. Fast forward to February 2020, we attended the big tasting party they held at the lodge and were able to party it up with some of the other couples who were due to get married in 2020. We met some lovely couples and had a great time, as well as getting to meet (unofficially) our wedding coordinator, CHENOA TAYLOR, who little did we know, would go above and beyond to help make our (my) visions come true!!!! This lady, where do I start, she walked me through the process on several occasions and was no less than a dream to work with!!! Even when our wedding was postponed when California shut down, Chenoa made sure that we were clear on everything, and she put me at ease when we were to reschedule. She made sure that my vision to make our guests as comfortable as possible during this COVID crisis by moving all events outdoors was made a reality and everything went off without a hitch (at least as far as I knew). This place is like a well oiled machine. Every staff member is their own piece to your puzzle. They have only the best of the best running things here, and it is not hard to see why, Monica and Patrick (the owners) really know how to run things, and they do so very elegantly. Fast forward again to the actual event- IT WAS NOTHING SHORT OF MAGICAL!!! REHEARSAL- Everything from the check in to the actual rehearsal, to the rehearsal dinner and after party was just amazing!!! THE FOOD- AMAZING!! , THE BAR- AMAZING!!! Let me tell you, THE BAR- TREVOR HARRINGTON IS THE MAN!!! This guy really knows how to get things going and keep them going!!! He played all the jams and kept our party (and the drinks) flowing!!! AND THAT WAS JUST THE REHEARSAL NIGHT!! WEDDING DAY- From the moment we got out of bed (in the very comfy and well kept rooms, I might add) was just the best experience I could have even dreamed of. They had breakfast ready for us and the banquet manager, HANNAH, was already getting things set up in the courtyard along with JULIE, JENNIFER, AND CHENOA!! These ladies are something else!!! They made sure that our guests were well taken care of when they arrived and made sure we all had everything we could possibly want or need. The ceremony and reception were just TO DIE FOR. I literally can't get over the services we received for what we paid!!! This place and all that comes along with booking here is OVER THE TOP!! A LITERAL STEAL!!!!! THE CAKE ALONE!!! OH. MY. GOD. THE CAKE.- MONICA (AGAIN, THE OWNER) SHE IS A LITERAL CAKE BOSS!!! Our cake was beautiful and delicious!! Our guests are still talking about it!!! After our reception, we had access to the downstairs game room, which was EPIC!!! Again, Trevor Harrington kept our budget and alotted bar tab in check the entire time and kept us going until 6am!!!! We've never met a bartender with the skillset Trevor has, and I doubt we ever will!!! He is all around AWESOME!!!!! IN CONCLUSION, THIS VENUE IS A DREAM COME TRUE!!!! From the first meeting to the last, you will not be disappointed!!! If you're looking at wedding venues and have your heart set on an outdoor venue with all the fixin's, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!! ALSO- I URGE YOU TO NOT BE PUT OFF BY THE PRICING. IT SEEMED PRICY TO US AS WELL, but once you add up all the expenses individually- the cake, the catering, the alcohol, the wait staff, the decor, the lodging, the price per head on all these things, and the venue ALL SEPARATELY, NOT TO MENTION- AN AMAZING WEDDING COORDINATOR?!?!, I found all these things for a wedding of 100 to be much more than what they charge at the Forest House, and when you think about your wedding day, what are you really willing to sacrifice?!?! My husband and I got married at the Forest House Lodge January 6, 2019. I can not say enough amazing things about the entire staff at Forest House Lodge. From start to finish they were amazing. My coordinator, Tuana, was fantastic. She made my vision come to life and even better than I could have imagined. Before my wedding I got a ton of advice. Many people warned me that I would feel rushed all day, or pulled in a million directions, or that they worried about x, y, z... but I have to say not one of these things was the case for me. I was able to truly enjoy the entire day, stress free. I had quiet time with my husband to feel connected, I enjoyed my meal, and I had a great time dancing and visiting with all of my guests stress free. The outdoor ceremony site is breath taking. It was storming the weekend of our wedding so we moved our ceremony indoors and it was just as beautiful. I can not say thank you enough. Every one of our vendors was amazing. read more

My husband and I got married here on November 17th 2018. We were ahead of the game in our planning and booked this venue back in November 2016. Over the following two years, there was never a gap in communication. Any question we had big or small was quickly answered! Our wedding weekend was more than we could have ever imagined and our family had a blast as well. Planning- The venue package comes with a coordinator! We had Tuana and she was absolutely amazing! Not only is she a rockstar person but she is stellar at what she does. She was always quick to answer my questions, offered suggestions based on things she already knew we wanted or liked and helped make the planning as well as entire wedding weekend smooth! We cannot be more thankful to have her through the whole process. Food and Cake - I have Celiac Disease as well as multiple members of my family. The chef's went above and beyond to accommodate this with special plates for me and my family that were Gluten Free. Not only was it amazing to be able to eat most of our wedding menu, it was also delicious!! And the cake! Monica did an amazing job and our cake was beautiful and perfect. The top tier was even Gluten Free as well so I was able to eat it. Venue and decorations - The venue speaks for itself in its beautiful and rustic vibes. The downstairs game room and bridal suite are just more pieces as to why this place is above and beyond. The ceremony site was amazing and all the decor that FHL has to offer was wonderful as well. It was nice to not have to spend a bunch of money on little pieces of decor and we were able to utilize a lot of what they already had in their decor room! Tuana and the rest of the team out did themselves with the decor and was more than I could ever imagined. We did not have any specific preferences and gave them creative freedom to do what they looked best and it was perfect! Bar - Trevor the bartender was the bomb and everyone had a great time. He was always quick to make sure we had either a drink or water in our hands and made the after party even more fun! Lodging - We both have large families and what meant the most to us was the fact that we can have our immediate family and bridal party all stay the night on site all weekend long. We were able to celebrate late into the night, or even into the next morning! It was so wonderful to wake up the next day after the wedding to a delicious breakfast with everyone and reminisced on the memories. Of course there is much more to praise this place about but I could not have imagined our day any other way and FHL and the entire are amazing and I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a perfect, smooth and stress free wedding weekend destination experience!! read more

I have dreamed about having my wedding here for 15+ years and it finally happened! And, it was AMAZING! They literally are so helpful and have SO many decorations, that I barely had to purchase any at all. They decorated too and it was everything I dreamed about...Clara nailed our theme. As our one month wedding anniversary just passed, I knew I couldn't waste anymore time to review our amazing wedding venue. We got married at the Forest House Lodge last month in early July and it was even better than what we imagined. The staff and our wedding coordinator Tuana were phenomenal and every detail from food tasting, decor selection, rehearsal and day of wedding festivities were perfectly executed due to the amazing staff. The ceremony site is breathtaking and the lodge where our rehearsal was held has so much character. The food was delicious and our guests agreed! Compliments to the chef :)Actually, one of the best things about our wedding was all the compliments we got from our wedding guests who traveled quite the distance to celebrate with us. My husband and I visited many wedding venues before we finally knew Forest House was the one. For future couples that are considering this venue, I highly recommend it for more than just the beautiful ceremony site. The cost, the staff, the planning and details that are figured out for you, allows you to enjoy the wedding planning process a little bit more-not entirely of course because it was still one of the most stressful things I have had to plan in my life but that is likely true for most brides:) Lastly, I just wanted to add that you do have to book your own vendors, such as a DJ and photographer but a list of preferred vendors is provided to you. We decided to go with non preferred vendors and were so happy with how smoothly everything turned out due to coordination from our wedding coordinator and staff. What an amazing experience as a guest for our niece and nephews wedding this New Years Eve! The rooms all have their own cute theme, the food from the appetizers to the desserts were amazing, and the staff.. well they were 10 stars! They all went over and beyond to make sure all our needs were met. The bridal suite and grooms cave were awesome! The game room has games and a section for Karaoke. Any brides and grooms out there this is such a magical place. You have to also realize the lodge had crazy amounts of snow that week and we weren't even sure if it could happen and they STILL made it perfect! They were shoveling snow for spaces for us to park and dig the courtyard out from all the snow and did so with such amazing attitude! The last morning there me and my hubby got up at 5 just to go downstairs and sit and one of the amazing staff brought us coffee and it was an hour or two before it was even set up!! They all made this experience perfect! Thank you so much!!!! We recommend this place 1000 percent!! read more

*COVID Wedding Review* Pre-wedding: We toured Forest House in January of 2019 with Ops Manager Jen, and we fell in love immediately. We placed our deposit that day. We chose a 3-day package for April 2020. Everything else was handled by email, & they were quick to respond to all our requests. Leading up to the wedding, we weren't spammed with emails but received a few notes here & there to check in. We were invited to 3 events: the tasting, the cocktail hour (for that year's couples & the folks who were married the year before), and the vendor fair. We went to 2 of these and the staff were gracious & very helpful. We asked a lot of questions leading up to the wedding, mostly by email, and received quick & thorough answers to everything. Coordinator: Our assigned coordinator was Chenoa, and we loved her from the start. The FHL staff calls her Mother Nature, and we totally see why. She is incredibly sweet & serene, and very knowledgeable and creative. She was super patient with our constant questions and would answer emails sometimes within minutes, even at night or on weekends. Chenoa was also very flexible up to the day itself, helping us rearrange details as our guest count dropped dramatically day by day because of COVID. COVID-19: When COVID shutdowns hit, FHL responded incredibly. They kept us updated frequently as the new regulations came into play, and 30 days & with 1 payment left before our wedding, they told us it had to be postponed. Both Ops Managers called us immediately and gave us a list of dates we could postpone to, and we chose November. It was heartbreaking, but the FHL team made it bearable by being so supportive. They reached out frequently with updates and were as accommodating as possible to make things easier on us. We've heard horror stories about people's weddings being canceled altogether or venues refusing to help reschedule, and we're so thankful FHL showed up the way they did, with great communication and empathetic flexibility as things continued to fluctuate in the days leading up to our event. To be clear, no refund was offered because nothing was a violation of the contract, but FHL still found ways to help us out while not going out of business themselves. They acted responsibly and fairly given the crazy circumstances. Ceremony weekend: During the event itself, Chenoa was great. She helped us set up what we needed & gave us space to manage some things ourselves. The Lodge typically handles most of the décor & setup, but we were more hands-on and they gave us the space to customize things entirely. Chenoa was always a text away, and even stayed late into the night to listen to the toasts our guests gave. She made the whole thing so personal & comfortable, and it really made a difference in the vibe for the entire weekend. The ceremony site for the venue is about 1.5mi away down 1 road, easy to find but tucked away & private. The view is breathtaking; it can't be described in words. There's no cell phone reception there for most carriers, but we found a portable Wi-Fi hub (Skyroam) that allowed us to set up a livestream at the site and it worked great. The venue set up 2 tents for our 2 bridal parties, and it looked amazing. The Lodge itself is insane. It's 3 floors: rooms on top, entrance & dining in the middle, and a game room & bridal suite in the basement. The rooms are very cute, nothing too fancy but comfortable for the weekend. The ping pong & pool tables in the game room were a hit. The bridal suite was perfect: since we have 2 brides, FHL hung a curtain through the middle of the room so we could get ready in the same room without seeing each other. Trevor, the bar tender, was everyone's hero for the weekend. He makes great drinks, & the drink selection is super impressive and shockingly well-priced. Overall, the event went great. The Lodge staff all wore masks and wiped down surfaces regularly for COVID safety. Food was all served by staff instead of being self-served, and there was hand sanitizer as well as sanitizing spray & wipes placed all around the Lodge. They managed to safely fit all 100 of our guests on the back patio for dinner & helped us arrange chairs during the ceremony so everyone kept a safe distance. Lastly, the Lodge was extremely LGBTQ+ friendly. As a lesbian couple, we never felt out of place or uncomfortable, even considering the fairly conservative region of CA that the Lodge is in. All the documents were changed to read "bride & bride", and any décor referencing a groom was removed without us asking. Even with COVID changing everything about our plans, we would still recommend this venue to anyone seeking a natural, comfortable, family reunion-style wedding. It was like a weekend-long party, way more fun than we've had in all of 2020, and definitely an event our guests & families haven't stopped raving about since! read more
