While this is mainly an RV resort with long term tenants with permanent trailer living residents, it is a good place to stay for a weekend. There's not much around as far as restaurants and such but within a short driving distance you have Harrahs casino, hiking and water activities. Campsite overall was clean and people were respectful and quite during quite hours. We enjoyed our time and would definitely consider staying here again if we're in the area to do some hiking and sightseeing.

The owner helped me and my friend with an absolute disaster of a situation without missing a beat. He is incredibly kind!!!!! The lodge is super fun- one night had a country singer that was stellar. Sites wide open and by a stream for tent camping and a few RV sites with water and electricity only... for now. I'd expect upgrades as the community continues to support local owned small businesses. The lodge has a bar, usually has food (during non covid times) and a pool table. You can enjoy a bonfire with the owners or just chill with your family. The area is beautiful, 5 minutes from phenomenal rafting and 25 minutes from the cute up and coming downtown Clayton. I came here on a very hot summer day with the plans to see some waterfalls. We got here around…read more8:30am which I believe is when the park opens. We took the South Rim (At least I think it was the South Rim) and went to all 5 viewing points which is a flat walk and a round trip of about 1.5 miles. Then we went down into the Gorge which includes 1,099 steps (actual staircase) to the bottom and of course that many steps back up. You can't go all the way to the Gorge floor without a permit but that just means you can only walk down 1,089 steps to a platform. There are plenty of places to stop including a very cool suspension bridge that overlooks Hurricane Falls. This was pretty tough for a 50-year-old fat boy like me but it's doable if you can simply climb stairs. The views are amazing and worth the quads burning for the next 3 days. The visitor's center is really nice. There is of course a gift shop. a huge display of taxidermy of all the local wildlife and a very nice museum that goes through the history of the region. The most important part is they have air conditioning. Suck it up, take the stairs and buy the t-shirt saying you did it when you are done.

We are an active family who hikes etc. There were a lot of warnings but we found it wasn't as bad as it seemed.

Out in a private location north of Athens, cool trails and locals that live there and cute cabins to rent for a day or week or longer. It was an amazing experience in every way. It only took about 30 minutes for me to adjust and really enjoy the freedom. The pool was beautiful and well maintained. I've been a day tripper here for a few years. I've also stayed over on themed weekends. I've heard them yell at grown adults about "foreplay" in the pool. As an adult, I wasn't doing "foreplay" but was yelled at along with the rest of the campers. It was very uncomfortable to be yelled at by the workers there. Totally uncalled for and could have been handled in a much better way. I'm leaning toward not going back here. At this point, there are too many other options in the area to be treated like a child. It's a gay campground, not a 5 star resort. Lighten up and treat people with respect. I'm not sure who actually owns this camp, but maybe there should be a visit to see what's going on here. It was totally on the right track but seems to be faltering a bit. I arrived late, after dark but was warmly welcomed and assisted into a campsite that I stayed in for 4 nights. I love that its an adult only campground. no need to worry about loud music or in and out travel in the middle of the night. Short drive to Helen and the recommendations given for activities and restaurants were fantastic. Will certainly be staying again when I do a return visit.
