Some trees are really, really pretty. Others still don't have leaves. 3/17/24

The ladies inside were pleasant and cheerful. It's Sunday, 3/17/24, and one is dressed in her St. Patrick's Day green. She reminded us to sign one of the several visitor sign in sheets. If lots of people visit and sign, it keeps the center staffed and well maintained. The bathrooms were clean. I had to hunt for the soap - two, one on each side of the sinks. If you don't like the air hand dryers, bring a small towel. I did. Inside, Husband took a photo of me in the peach sign. He declined to have his photo with the bulldog. There are lots of pamphlets and books to take for more information about Georgia. Outside, the plum trees are in bloom.

In Georgia & Miss Princess is excited to be headed home. Nice facility, clean restrooms & ammenities.

Some welcome centers are okay but some really stand out, this one on I-85 just south of the North Carolina line is one of those. I stopped here for a break and spent some time looking over the ammenities and walking the grounds.  The Georgia Welcome Center in Lavonia, located at 938 County Rd 84, is a terrific resource for visitors and locals alike, that's got a wealth of information on the area's attractions, accommodations, and events. Moderately clean restroom, loads of Georgia info/pamphlets and a few photo opportunities! My niece loved the Georgia Bulldog. She had to take a picture with it! This was a great rest stop to stop at for our family. Loads of parking and plenty of restrooms stalls. Just be mindful of the time you stop at night due to restrooms being closed at certain hours. Made a quick stop here on my way back into town. This welcome center is nice and big. Didn't get to see much of the outside, but from what I recalled it had a park area and plenty of parking spaces. The lobby and women's restroom were clean. A little dated, but nothing to complain about. When you walk in, you immediately see a Georgia Dawg statue and glass cases filled with local Georgia products such as honey, jams, sauces, etc. The center has the usual: maps, brochures, vending machines, etc. Although we didn't speak to each other, the staff seemed friendly. They smiled at me and my son when they saw us. We were in a rush, so we didn't stay long.

This Georgia on my mind sign is inside the visitor information center. Photo taken December 29, 2017.

This welcome center is located just inside the Georgia border after crossing over from South Carolina on Interstate 85 south. This welcome center is open from 7 am to 11 pm daily (the visitor information center is staffed from 8:30 an to 5:30 pm daily). Inside the welcome center, there is a visitor log that you can fill out as well. Unlike some other states, this one is still done on paper (North Carolina and South Carolina were done on tablets). Much has changed with this welcome center since the last time I went through this area. The last time I went through this area, the welcome center was undergoing a major makeover. I still remember them having portable restrooms and portable buildings for visitor information. My most recent visit through here was a few days ago. I love the changes and updates that they have done with this welcome center. It's great to see what it looks like completed after seeing all of the work going on before. You go up some hills to get to the top where the welcome center is located. The place looks beautiful now and you can tell it has finally been modernized and updated to the current times. Most of us come in to use the restrooms. Of course, I did as well with this visit, but I also visited the friendly staff at the center. I wanted to find out from them if there were any traffic or construction issues to be aware of, since we would be passing through Atlanta and then headed west into Alabama and Mississippi. They were very knowledgeable and they have systems to show traffic issues within the state. After doing the usual stuff, I went back outside to explore the grounds here. There's plenty of walking areas, as well as a pet relief area. There's also quite a bit of picnic tables, with some of them covered as well. Overall, since the changes, this is now a great welcome center to stop at. If you need information while traveling through Georgia, or if your final destination is in this state, you should definitely stop in for information pertaining to your travels. I will definitely be stopping at this welcome center again in the future if my travels bring me this way.

Very pretty with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Great displays of items Made in Georgia, as well as movie posters for "The Walking Dead" which was filmed here. Tons of free maps, offers for discounts on local attractions, and very friendly and helpful staff make this a great stop.

This welcome center is equipped with clean restrooms, vending machines, spots to take selfies, green space, and an information center. It checks all my boxes! I stopped for a break while driving and to ask some questions about the best attractions at my destination. The staff member with whom I spoke was pleasant and helpful, and suggested I take a map with me for the remainder of my drive (it proved to be very helpful). I'll definitely stop here again!

This one although older was very clean during our stop. I rarely use the facilities at these rest areas when traveling in the RV, but after walking around to get the blood flowing again after driving for a number of hours I did here. The restrooms were spic n span clean I will say it didn't appear that the traffic was very heavy through the area so your experience may differ depending on what day and time it is. There are plenty of Truck and RV parking spaces and the same can be said for the car side, with easy access from either parking area.
