There is some new equipment throughout and some of the "older" equipment that I personally prefer. Layout is great and the locker room facilities are always clean and well kept. Sometimes when attending this facility early in the morning (during the "midnight" shift) you don't see staff members at all at the desk, or even within the facility, for sometimes a good while. This could cause a problem if someone was trying to use the Black Card facilities or was maybe having trouble with their card. It doesn't usually cause problems so early, but I admit it's an odd experience walking in and having no team members to be seen. When you do encounter staff they are friendly, very helpful when needed and they are very thorough when it comes to cleaning the facility. Some of the older equipment tends to break and there is usually a pretty significant delay in when that equipment gets repaired, this is more of a corporate issue than a location issue as this location doesn't repair their own equipment, but it can hinder a "workout flow" when pieces of equipment go down for a significant amount of time. Plenty of weights through the gym, dumbbells go up to 75lbs, and lots of benches to use for whatever you need. I'll keep attending and enjoying my time here for sure!

First, let me say that the Midland Community Center offers a very large range of activities...two…read morepools (lap pool and a large family pool), basketball courts, weight room, racquetball courts...there is definitely a lot to do at the MCC. However, in the past few years they have made visiting completely cost-prohibitive. Do you like to swim to stay in shape? It will cost you $40 a month...and the pool is only open for a few select hours each day for open swim (seriously...go look at their schedule and try to figure out when you can and cannot swim). That, and their lap pool only has 5 lanes, and there were multiple occasions where I had to share lanes with up to 4 people at a time. What if you just want to drop in and run around the track? $7 A DAY. You do get access to their weight room, too, but for $3 more you could just get a MONTHLY membership at Planet Fitness. All membership plans also require an "auto-draft joining fee" of about $100. So, if money isn't an issue and you like to stay in shape, definitely check this place out. However, if you're working with a tight budget, try one of the other gyms in the area, because MCC is one of the most expensive ways to stay in shape in the area, and there are better options out there for far less money

I didn't get the position they were hiring for at the time, but a few weeks later, they called to say they needed someone else and asked if I was still interested.
