She made me feel really comfortable the whole time and I would not hesitate to return to her. This day, I had my rook pierced (ear cartilage) and it was so quick and easy. I also requested that she change and replace the jewelry in my tragus (another ear piercing). Once she called me in, I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. She is the master piercer here and you could tell she knew what she was doing. The major difference between her and other places, is she will use beautiful starter jewelry. The curved bar she put in my newly pierced rook was a double ended prong gem and I was so excited and I am so pleased. Most places will use a standard barbell and you have to settle with that until it's healed and you can return to have it changed. Since she pierced with this, I am set for years. She also put a beautiful gem in my tragus. I think this is the best place to get pierced in Albany.

The picture one shows the tattoo on the third day, I think the line is really lack of continuity and it looks not smooth. Overall it looks fine and the total cost was $120.

I got my first tattoo here last weekend, and it is safe to say I will never be back. I went with a…read moregroup of three other people, and we had made an appointment over a month ahead of time. On the day of the appointment, we received a call from the shop to come in as soon as possible, three hours before our appointment. When we arrived, an exacerbated worker approached my group and asked: "Who has the fern tattoo?", to which I raised my hand. The girl showed me one of the reference pictures I had sent and aggressively told me "This is not a small tattoo, and it will take me close to two and a half hours for this." This confused me as we had booked a large slot of time and two artists for our group. The tattoo I asked for was only around 5 inches long and simple line work. I explained to her that there was a second reference photo along with the first, and that the description explained what I wanted in detail. (We found out later that the shop had not received all of our pictures and descriptions that we had sent weeks before. This included my second reference photo and description. Yet they had failed to tell us that they were not received.) She stomped away and printed out a stencil, not taking any time to tweak the drawing or ask about specifics with me. She brought it back to me and held it up to my arm and asked what I thought. The stencil was on the side of my arm, and I couldn't see the full thing without a mirror. I tried looking down at it, and about 10 seconds later she loudly huffed and angrily told me to go look in the mirror around the corner, to which she had not pointed out before. I felt super rushed looking at the stencil as she glared at me like I was inconveniencing her in some way. It was the size that I wanted so I approved. A few minutes later, the set up was ready and she told me to go sit in the chair while she prepped my arm. I made a small tweak to the design once the stencil was on my arm, and we started. I later searched up that Melissa (the shop owner) was the artist who printed my stencil and did my tattoo. She barely talked to me during the whole tattoo, as she was too busy chatting with one of her employees. About 20 minutes later, she was done. This seemed fairly quick to me, but as this was my tattoo I didn't question it. Filled with adrenaline, I didn't really see the messy lines, and I approved the tattoo. She put on the "second skin", and didn't cover it completely, not covering a branch of the fern. When my group was done and it was time to pay, she told me the tattoo would cost $250 (wow!). I took off the second skin a few days later, and was met with a hot mess. Rushed shaky lines, splotchy leaves, and even missing spots in the branches. We had spoken about the fern not looking "bold", but I had unfortunately assumed that did not mean "you can rush with this tattoo, and scribble on leaves with no thought or manner!". I attempted to contact the shop by their number listed online, left a voicemail, and I have not yet received a response. I'm unfortunately going to have to get it touched up or even covered due to its poor quality. I would have much rather been turned away or rescheduled then having a poor quality tattoo permanently on my arm. I would not recommend Artisan Ink, and I would avoid this buisness if you're not looking for a rushed, overpriced tattoo!

(rook and tragus are both ear cartilage piercings) I have a memory of coming here when i was 16/17 to get my belly button pierced, so i decided to visit here again. The location is a little hard to find but a super convenient area on Fuller Road, instead of having to go downtown as where most other piercings shops are. It is right at 100 fuller road, in the rear of a building that is currently empty/ for sale. I was told to just walk-in any time for piercings. The woman, 'B', was busy tattooing so we had to wait a while, but that was not much of an issue. The two artists working there were very nice and professional, while giving you a very laid back vibe. We were very happy we chose to come here! All piercings generally cost about $50 and they offer to help you out with changing the jewelry afterword and help you with aftercare if you have any questions. All items involved in piercing were clearly sterile and the process was quick, clean and not super painful! The entire experience was great and we thought B was so nice! Maybe I'll be back for my other ear soon!

The down side, there are only two of them and only one until after about 4 or 5pm. Walkins are welcoming for piercing but unlikely available for tattoos. I have been pierced and tattooed here and was comfortable in the environment. I love the additional tattoo I received. If you are planning for the future and have time to schedule an appoint, I recommend this place. Also you have to be flexible. Because there is only one person there most of the day if you are being tattooed and someone comes in that wants a piercing your work will pause so that she can talk to the customer and maybe even pierce them.
