We stopped in to FCBC on a Friday afternoon for beer and lunch. When we got to the counter to review the beer offerings, we were surprised to see ONE beer available: an IPA. They apologized and said "they'd have more tomorrow." Fortunately, we both like IPAs, so no problem there. (Friendly suggestion: if you operate a craft brewery, don't run out of beer). Still, the staff more than makes up for it with truly fantastic service. I ordered the grouper tacos and, while they were a little on the pricey side, they were packed with fresh, flavorful grouper and absolutely worth trying. This was our first time visiting Mexico Beach, and we chose this restaurant for our first dinner. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great start to our trip. The food was good once we finally received it, but we waited about 45 minutes for two grouper sandwiches. When I asked about the delay, I was told there were a lot of to-go orders ahead of ours. However, three tables that were seated after us received their meals before we did, which made the explanation difficult to understand. Another disappointment was that the restaurant advertises itself as a brewing company, but we were told they no longer brew their own beer. Overall, the long wait, poor communication, and misleading advertising outweighed the quality of the food. To make matters worse, I had already paid my tip in advance, and after this experience, I wish I hadn't. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place based on our visit. read more

We drove 15 hours and chose this spot on the way to our airbnb. 45 min out we place our order and were told via the website it would be ready 60-65 minutes. Ok no problem. We get there 50 min after placing order and was told it hadn't even been started yet. Ok, again no problem. But once it WAS ready, we were so disappointed. It seemed like we were given the "leftovers that have been there all day and need to get rid of before we close" items. Crinkle cut fries were cool and old. The grouper tacos were fried and old so they were chewy. Fried shrimp was hard and also old. No utensils. No napkins or condiments for our apps. Do not recommend smoked tuna dip. We were so hungry and waited so long even after our promised ready time. The place was busy no doubt. Would not eat here again if we came back to the area. Was not worth $100 total for old fried food and mediocre chips and queso/guac. read more

Not actually a brewery anymore but they do have other beers on tap. I'd say the food was OK but for a beach town, it was nice to be able to just walk up to the counter and order. We had a large party that would have had 1.5 hour wait probably at other restaurants and were able to get a table and food without waiting at Forgotten Coast. I was just hoping for bar food, and got it. My only real disappointment is that I wanted to find another brewery to add to my list, which this is no longer. read more

A little underwhelming, I'm more of a coors and Michelob guy so the beer wasn't that great to me, and my wife got a pino noir and if your thinking it's white wine it's NOT. I will give the mozzarella sticks were AMAZING but you only get 4 for $13 :( we also got the thing with cheese dip and the salsa and guacamole and the cheese dip and the salsa were pretty good. The salsa is pretty chunky, but the guacamole was a mid and that cheese dip was great. Over all give the place a 6/10. Also is this self service? Sadly, our experience was disappointing. First, they don't have enough parking. Second, they advertised their own beers, but they did not have any beers of their own making. Third, they brought the food out at different times, and my husband didn't get his sandwich until about 20 minutes after everyone else. Lastly, the food was incredibly disappointing. My husband ordered a bacon jalapeño grilled cheese. The menu said it would have bacon jam and jalapeños, but what came out was just a sandwich with maple bacon and cheese. The smoked pimento cheese was supposed to be served with corn chips, but was served with tortilla chips instead. Overall, we were just terribly disappointed by our first restaurant experience on our first Mexico Beach vacation. read more

The citizens of Mexico Beach have been waiting a while for Forgotten Coast Brewing Company to open their doors to the public. The wait is over! FCBC opened their doors this past week. Last night i dropped in to give them a try. They currently have 4 beers on tap, but they have more brewing in the back with plans to add to their rotating draft collection. Drafts come in pints and 32 oz sizes, and they have flights as well if you want to sample them all. I tried all 4 on tap. I started with the First Draft IPA and it was quite tasty. I then moved to the Lighthouse Lager and it was also tasty. Then the Sandpiper Pilsner which sang a tune of flavor and not overfilling. Then last the Marsh Street Golden Ale which was good but my least favorite of the 4. The staff was fantastic, friendly, and attentive. Overall a solid micro brewery that I have high hopes for. The nachos were good. The blood orange beer was great. But the pickles were awful. They should really put on the menu that they aren't dill pickles. First night in town. There's not many places to eat. I guess eventually they'll develop restaurants here again. Stopped in here cause it looked nice, there was some cars in the parking lot, and we were hungry. Probably the most expensive pizza I've ever had. Crazy thing is they said we could do half-and-half so we did half of one of the deluxe pies and the other half just cheese, but they charged us the full price for the deluxe. It's kind of like self service. You have to order at the counter and then you sit down. The only work they do is bring the pizza 15 feet over from behind the counter. We had a couple of their on tap beers, which were good. Charged us two dollars for ranch. The pizza was mediocre. My guess is it is a premade thin crust. It was kind of burnt on the edges, but like I said, we were hungry. We also got a salad. Everything was served on pieces of paper on little silver trays. For the food and the experience, this was quite pricey. read more

Great food! We split the bacon jalapeño grilled cheese and the slider trio and both were excellent. I had the lemon wheat beer which was fine, and my husband enjoyed the IPA. I took one star off due to the patio situation which was our only option as we were traveling with a dog. There is only one table and no music or anything to look at beyond stacked kegs.
