What cute and unique place! Hard to find but worth the drive ! Good beer, cool atmosphere!

Amazing local brewery with a wide range of uniquely crafted beers. The classic Freeports Black Creek stout is then dry hopped for a strong finish. Gotta try the Winter Ale, a dark amber ale with a perfect balance of molasses and cinnamon for a winter chill. Finally, another must try is their Brackish Water Vienna Lager. Not quite a black beer, but with a perfect darker finish that makes it one of the tastiest lagers anywhere. Enjoy!

This place is the perfect little brewery and a great stop for any local or tourist passing through. I live in the area and really appreciate how well this establishment is setup. It's a typical brewery that mostly only serves beer but they do have some snacks available. It's a great place to bring kids as well. Thanks for the great beer!

Only place open later, everything winds down around 9 pm. There is also an entertainment fee, which was new to us, and you'll be charged even if you're not really there for the entertainment, is about 2$ no biggie but good to know. We went back at a different time expecting more food options, but instead found more of a lounge vibe with a live DJ and drinks. If you're looking for "late dinner" like 9-10 , it's worth a visit, but the experience can vary depending on when you go. Friday sat they have a live dj.

My fiancé and I chose Proper Restaurant & Bar to celebrate our engagement with both of our…read morefamilies, so this dinner was incredibly special to us. We had a party of about 15 people, and while the evening had some bright spots, it unfortunately didn't live up to what we had hoped would be a memorable celebration. Earlier that morning, we called and made a reservation for our large group. Later in the day, we called back simply to confirm that a high chair would be available for one of the babies in our party, only to be told that there wasn't a reservation under our name. It was a stressful start, especially with such a large group to coordinate. Thankfully, when we arrived, the staff was able to accommodate us with outdoor seating, and we were grateful they found a way to fit us in. Our server was kind, and I understand that serving a party our size isn't easy. That said, service throughout the meal was quite slow, and there were several mix ups. Some guests waited a long time for drinks, a few orders were missed initially, and it took quite a while before everyone had their meals. The cocktails, however, were excellent. Our table ordered espresso martinis, margaritas, and several other drinks, and those were definitely a highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment for our group. The appetizer portions were much smaller than we expected, and overall, most of us weren't particularly impressed with the quality of our meals. Considering we were celebrating such a special occasion, we had hoped the food would be just as memorable as the setting. Proper is in a beautiful location, and I do appreciate that the staff was ultimately able to accommodate our large party after the reservation mix up. Based on our experience, though, I think this is probably a better spot for drinks and a couple of small bites than it is for a large celebratory dinner. While I'm glad we gave it a try, I don't think it's a place we'll be returning to.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and there weren't too many people there yet. I could tell immediately, the ambiance was one I would appreciate. I did a flight consisting of several lighter samplers. They were all awesome. The Hefeweizen was my favorite. I spoke with the bartender for quite some time about the brewery and how he got started there, I really appreciated the attention and the service. Everything was on point. If you're in this part of Alabama and have some time, stop in. You'll love it!!

Both were very good, rating a 4 out of 5 stars. The size portion of the turkey was generous, the pulled pork a bit conservative. The smoked elote corn was served cold, which does not help the taste; perhaps a squeeze of lime juice would help bring out the chilled taste. The white cheddar mac was lacking. Their sweet BBQ sauce is amazing, much better than their bourbon BBQ sauce which lacked flavor. Most of our complaints had to do with the ambiance and service. Even though the owners were present, the cook brought out our meals without napkins or silverware, which happened to the next two customers as well---and nothing was done to correct the problem. The tables and chairs were mostly like what one would get second hand at a flea market and a large floor fan blew voluminous amounts of air down through the middle of the seating area, blowing away our napkins, silverware and other items. This did not make for a very pleasant meal! Southern Fields brews their own beer, which we would rate as average. We did not try their distilled rum or vodka, since they are not our liquors of choice. We are from Jackson County and want to see this business succeed. Since there are not many local residents in Campbellton, I would highly recommend giving a generous discount to Jackson County resident to get them to make the drive to Campbellton and brave the tourist traffic to get a good base of return customers. (A Panama City Beach business trick that works well.) I also highly recommend a few well-placed road signs on Route 231 and Route 273 northbound to entice tourists to stop; who are either in a hurry to get to the beach--or to get home after being at the beach. Whenever we go to Dothan, we never see the Southern Fields building until it is way too late to slow down and make the turn to stop. (We will try to come back in a few weeks to update this review since the menu is new.)
