They have plenty of carnival rides and games to keep the kids busy while you wander through the rest of the festival. They have a silent auction which has many items of interest. This year they added a twist by making the auction online. I think it was a hit. The festival is usually the third weekend in September. Put it down on the calendar, it's a great time!

I think I saw about 10,000 white people at this festival. And about 1 black person. Yes, 1. And about very few, if any, Hispanics, and about zero Asians. But hey. It is what it is. Other than the racial demographics, it is a lovely Festival in one of my favorite neighbourhoods of Michigan. Some of the best pizza slices in the world are in these parts and if you wander the Allen Park Street fair you will find lots of cool stands and coolinary (intentional mis-spelling) delights. And a lot of the stores along this area will sell stuff outside the front of their stores. Just a great Festival although - as I said - you will notice there is very very little ethnic diversity.

Always includes the annual Hall of Fame inductions, a 5k run and many other activities. I've been going for several years now and it just seems to keep growing.

There is a large jail, police stations, court, and a beautiful large library. If you pop in downtown, it reminds me of royal oak. There's sidewalk and cute small shops to stop in. I haven't had the chance to visit many of the shops, but I look forward to. They do have some construction going on towards that area, depending on where you are coming from. I might stop by near the spring, when it isn't so cold. My favorite thing about Mt Clemens is driving through some of the streets near the center. There are gorgeous homes that are absolutely stunning. I kove looking at different styles of homes and colors.

I remember when as a kid I learned about how Christopher Columbus sailed up the Clinton River to…read moreland near the Farmer's Market and enjoy cider -n- donuts, then he and his merry band of men walked up into town and enjoyed one of the many mineral baths that were proliferant in the day. I enjoyed the 3rd Annual Columbus Day Parade. I hadn't been to one of these in probably a year or so! It was nice to see the marching bands from the area schools and social clubs. Also nice to see local politicians shaking hands with the spectators. Mount Clemens continues to provide great venues for family-friendly activities throughout the year. They always decorate for the season, placing overhead banners announcing the various activities throughout the year. I look forward to the day after Thanksgiving when Santa Claus arrives during the parade.

The scope of this festival is big and sprawls many, many blocks. The biggest draw would probably be the music, because there's a main stage with some big names like Joan Jett (2023) with other musical acts located throughout as you walk through all the food and art vendors. There's a variety of musical genres in all the musicians from country, pop, rock, and even more eclectic mixes. Food and drink was varied just like the music. Chicken wings, asian stir fry, Middle Eastern, desserts, beer, and so much more. Prices are obviously a bit inflated because it's a festival, but I felt that the quantities of what you can get are fair. There was a section of the festival that had fair rides and foods so I was even able to get elephant ears! Fair food is fun. Lastly the art on display for sale ranges from prints, framed paintings, sculptures, leather handbags, soap, and more. The artists were friendly and on hand to talk with patrons. Overall Arts Beats Eats is a big festival with lots to do. I would say that the parking was the only difficult thing to find, and I ended up paying $15 a few blocks away for a spot. There was an admission fee, but it's worth it to check out the music. You can buy a ticket online ahead of time for your convenience.
