Strolling carolers, chestnut vendors, craftsman, and reenactments of Dickens, "A Christmas Carol", all take place in the tiny town of Holly. Creating a festival that befits it's name, the citizens of Holly open their arms and their hearts to make it a holiday to remember. Taking place in the 100 block of Saginaw St., you will find plenty of parking and even a sledding hill out back for the kiddies. On the streets, the merchants and restaurants put on a festive air and offer samples and great deals to tempt you to part with a coin or two. If you've seen the movie, "Groundhog Day", you will remember how the people of the town really embraced the holiday, so much so that even Bill Murray wanted to stay. Well, that's what it's like here. Everyone we met was so fun and happy to see visitors and put on their best manners that it was a delight to be there. It runs for three weeks at the start of the Xmas season , from Thanksgiving weekend to mid December. Check it out! You won't feel like you found a lump of coal in your stocking!

They utilized the hospital in most of the attraction, which made the whole experience even more creepy! I went for a private event, but it opened this weekend. I recommend everyone to go check out this historical site. So much has happened here in the past, you can feel the grounds energy as you pull into the parking lot. Looking up at those old windows, you can just feel someone or something peering from one! Go check out Eloise Asylum! The best haunted attraction in the state of Michigan!

There was a long line to get donuts and a lot of families outside playing games, eating and drinking goodies, going on the swings, and petting the animals. I liked that they had a fun corn maze. I am really bad at those and at directions, so I am always hesitant to go in, but my youngest child was really good at finding our way out without me panicking too many times. My other child liked the animals, especially Harry Styles the bull/ steer, he was cute. There is a lot of land for people to enjoy and run around. The store was cute with a lot of Fall goodies. We did not buy donuts, they looked very small, but plenty of people seemed to enjoy them. For us, this was probably our only visit since we have a long list of favorites that we go to annually. But we wanted to check this place out since we had never visited before.

Detroit pop shop does popsicles right!…read more That would be my hope since that's what they're all about but now after finally trying one, I can attest to it. Their popsicles bring regular store bought popsicles to shame. I don't think I can ever go back now. We had an employee celebration at work this past week since Henry Ford Health System was celebrating their centennial and Detroit pop shop was there handing out free popsicles. Yeah! Normally they're $3. They had a sugar free one available but I opted for the one with sugar. I believe it was blueberry raspberry and it was delicious! It was super flavorful, not overly sweet, and perfect for a hot summer night out. They are smaller than your average popsicle which is a bummer. However, you can tell they're quality. I will definitely keep an eye out for them next time I'm at Eastern Market or I might have to stop by Parker Street Market (great little market that sells only Michigan made food/drinks!) in the West Village to try some of their other flavors. Hello watermelon basil? I've got my sights on you.
