Such beautiful, well loved creatures and Jon and Ashley work so incredibly hard to make sure they're all safe and comfortable with enough space to thrive. You can really tell they've put their heart and soul into this place and the wolves. If you get the chance to check them out, do it!! It's so worth it. I can forever say I have hugged and played with wolves now. Gets me great street cred haha.

However, I have some serious reservations about their handling of money and their customer service. I sent them a large donation a couple of months ago. Over a month later, it still had not been cashed. I called and no one answered so I had to leave a message. I left the message with their Finance and Operations Manager. I waited a week and still hadn't received a reply. I decided to put a stop on the check. Now, over a month after I left the message, still no reply. You would think a nonprofit would reply and try to get to the bottom of the problem if they were told a multi-thousand dollar check was sent to them and hadn't been cashed.

The people here are so kind. I called around to a lot of places looking for someone to help me…read morewith an injured little opossum that had been hit by a car in front of my house. This place had someone who answered the phone and soothed my weepy nerves, offering me a number of ideas for various places that might help, and saying they were happy to help if I wanted to get the creature to them out on Bainbridge. I made the trek, and they agreed to check him out and euthanize him if necessary. They charged me nothing. (I did offer a donation to cover their services, which they gratefully accepted.) The lovely folks at this shelter helped make a sad event manageable. I am so appreciative.

This is a very cool structure that is for rent for events. The Round House is, predictably, round…read moreand HUGE. It is an old wooden structure, that kind of reminds me of old circuses. It is very dusty in there, and very rustic. There is a kitchenette area that is decent in size, but doesn't not have cooking abilities. I don't remember the prices for renting, but contact the Old Mill Trading Company to find out or to rent it.
