We stayed in august. Very quiet and clean. Few, well equipped cabins. Owner/manager was very flexible to make last minute changes to our booking dates. They provide a charcoils and a barqueque; alternatively there are several firepits around the property. We used them all , the kids loved it. Beautiful views of the river. This place is awesome! The unit was cleaner than many high-end hotels I've stayed. Our room was furnished with everything one could think of for cooking including a set of stainless steel cookware for every need. Each unit has their own barbeque cooker and there are picknic tables for eating outdoors. Every unit has a full view of the river and the property has well maintained walking trails in the woods. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful if needed. In addition it is only 10-15 minutes away from the ocean. we will back soon. read more

My family absolutely loved staying here. We used it a a landing place for our day trips to Olympic National Park. After long days of hiking (on sometimes crowded trails) we all loved winding down here. The rooms are immaculate and as cozy as you can imagine. It is off the main road just enough to enjoy some real peace and quiet. Nothing can beat the view of the river while enjoying my morning cup of coffee. Just returned from 3 weeks on the OP and wish we had stayed here the whole time! Great location to use as a base for sightseeing/hiking. Etc. Was seriously impressed by the absolute impeccable grounds and the care taken in cleaning the units. Chip & Linda are friendly, knowledgeable hosts and their staff rocks. Stayed here in May 2023 while visiting Olympic National Park. Wonderful place with spacious comfortable suite with full kitchen, gas burning stove in living room, a comfortable king sized bed and a beautiful view from room of grassy area in front of river. Comfy chairs outside to hang out in. So glad we chose this place that was away from it all in this beautiful location, compared to the dingy hotels we saw in the town of Forks. We had the place to ourselves. The apartments/suites are beautiful, peaceful, have a full compliment of cookery, full kitchen--even an antique but functioning refrigerator. It was like something from a dream to see fish jumping, the moon rise, the fisherman casting from their boats just a few feet away on the Quillayute River--even when they were urinating off of their boats there was a kind of poetry in it. Speaking of poetry, we found a hilarious tome of collected letters to and by Edna St. Vincent Millay. Her childlike narcissism, letters to her mother written in baby talk, and epistolary conniptions made my partner and I (who are both writers) fall to the ground laughing as we read them aloud to each other. I've never seen less graceful handling of either success or rejection in the publishing world, and nothing so epic, creepy or whack since the digression-heavy rants and ramblings of frontier wannabe-erotic sensation Mary Maclane. The bathtub here was big, big enough...the water hot and clean. The stars came out at night and draped the sky to the tips of the pines. The spiral arm of the Milky Way loomed directly over the resort. We wrapped up in blankets and our bare soles embraced the cold, soft grass and we bared our souls to the cathedral of light above us. Hot baths and cacao awaiting us inside. The sound of river rapids, the long twilight hour fading gently, the scent of chili, bison blueberry brats and homemade bloody mary's ushered us in to a night of perfect stillness, a night spent enfolded in each other's arms, safe, warm, quiet, and renewed. read more

This is a great place for family or couple, I highly recommended. It was top quality from the booking phone call all the way to our checkout. We had a last minute booking in end of June. We got the last room for just one night stay. The owner was very accommodating, I was traveling with my sister and 4 young kids. Pulling up from the outside, checking in around 5pm. This place was beautiful, colorful plants and humming bird feeder in front of all 5 units. River views from all units, picnic tables, fire pit for a camp fire at night in front of the river. Every unit has a grill outside for BBQ. Going inside of the unit. I was impressed with how clean, ergonomic design (well use of space, couch turn into full size comfortable bed), full kitchen (we cooked dinner and breakfast for 2 adults and 4 children, didn't find anything missing!). To tell you the truth, I was a little worry about what it said about the retro kitchen appliances from their website! But I can assure you, other than no dish washer, everything is in tip top shape. Walking thru. the unit and thru. our stay, from every detail I see, I can tell the owners has a well thought thru. design. From the looks to the practical use of the space to high tech setup to satisfy high tech junky like me. I can care less about the TV, when I can have high speed internet access. Each unit/room, has it's own wireless router, this might be the reason that the speed is fast. We stream Netfilx, video chat on skype without any problem. It is true that's no cell service, at least for AT&T out there. With fast speed internet, I am happy there! :o) Oh! on their website (http://www.qriverresort.com ) there are more pictures and a live webcam view of the river that update often in the daylight hours. As some reviewer has already mentioned, the bathroom was clean, full size, well organized, Organic Skin and Hair Care Products (www.EOproducts.com) soaps, bath gels, and lotions. Overall, this is the most clean, high tech, comfortable, out in the nature place I have ever see and still affordable. If you stay here, you got to visit the Rialto Beach down the road, it's got an amazing view. We can have dinner at the room and short drive down there for watching the sunset. My boyfriend took me here when were were driving through the coast, its the cutest little resort! So Clean, private, and the view of that river in the morning is gorgeous. All the rooms have a view of the river and an area to bbq or lounge. I would definitely recommend staying in and making your own food there because the restaurants around us weren't the greatest. On the plus side, they provide everything you need to make a good meal! They had a cute fire place, some games to play in the living room, very wide open place for everyone to hang out. the sleeping area is big, had a walk in closet, the bathroom had heated flooring, large TV, wifi is available, and etc. read more

I read nothing but good reviews about QRR on Trip Advisor and I really wanted to love it. I did. It was in a fabulous location overlooking the river, tastefully decorated, warm and cozy, the owners were very hospitable and had a welcome packet waiting for us when we arrived.... However. We stayed at the resort on December 31st - New Year's Eve. The owners Chip and Linda gave us our key at around 2pm and we left for several hours as our room wasn't quite ready for check-in. When we returned at 5 o'clock, they had closed up shop early apparently (three hours early - normally the office is staffed until 8pm). We realized soon after settling in that our Direct TV wasn't working. We dialed "0" and left a voice mail on the office answering machine. After patiently waiting for an hour, we tried again - still no answer. We then attempted to dial the "after hours line" that was listed on the laminated FAQ sheet left in the room and discovered we had a non-functional phone. So no TV and no calls out. Oh, and no cell phone service. Another hour passed and we began to grow very impatient. I realize we sound like a couple of spoiled city slickers who can't live without a TV for one night, but A) it was New Year's Eve, and B) had we known we'd have no access to television we certainly would have come prepared with some Netflix DVD's, laptop, or Scrabble at the very least! We had NOTHING TO DO but sit there and stare at each other, and we could have done that back at home. Finally my boyfriend downloaded the Skype app for iPhone just so we could make a frickin phone call (we actually had wi-fi) and we called the "after hours line" only to find this connected to the same answering machine we had already left two messages on! At 8:45 we said screw it and made the 20 mile roundtrip drive back into Forks and rented a movie from the grocery store. At 10pm the owners returned and finally came over to fix our satellite TV box. Unfortunately, the damage was already done and I was already in a pretty foul mood. I was pretty frustrated that they didn't at least forward their line to the neighbors place or leave an emergency number where they could be reached. What if someone had locked themselves out? We tried to use the phone again the next morning and it was still not working. Totally unacceptable. read more

amazing experience. We stayed for 3 nights and wanted more. The suits are beautiful and serene, sitting right atop of the river. they are very well kept by Linda and Chip (if i remember correctly) who tend to every need. I was expecting a shabby, bed bug ridden place but instead found a beautiful romantic riverside, that is great for kids as well. The only thing that would have been even more awesome was if there was a decent restaurant around there (which unfortunately there isn't) but that's really not this amazing resort's fault. instead we drove to Forks, bought groceries and used the well equipped kitchen to make lovely meals for hanging out or for picnics in the rainforest and the rest of the parks and beaches around. we will certainly be back. read more

Tesla and hybrid/electric chargers in the parking lot, view of the river, including bald eagles, lovely landscaping, kitchen fully stocked with all the dishes, pans, appliances you might need. This place is amazing and every bit 5 stars. Don't mind the 3 star review from 2010, I have a few select issues with her complaint which she is right, it sounds childish. Don't come out to Forks or the HOH rain-forest if you are concerned about cell service, stay in the city. Come out here for relaxing and to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other and nature. Who in their right mind comes out to this area and 1. complains about the room not being ready 2 hours before actual check in time, which is 4 at pretty much every hotel I have ever stayed at. 2. Comes out to this remote area and complains about not only no cell service but no TV? Which by the way worked fine for us, the few minutes I bothered to turn it on. Really, again stay in Seattle, or trek yourself down to Portland. I needed a re-charge and wanted to be near the ocean but did not want to go to Ocean Shores. This delivered all my expectations and more. Right on a beautiful river, everything I could need in my little suite, AND super close to Rialto beach, where we watched the sunset on our first night, just amazing! We drove to the HOH rainforest park the next day and explored there and made a stop at the beach before heading back. Forks has a major grocery store with anything you forget or could need including rain gear. It's a rainforest, it rains at least once a day. :) We WILL be back again before this year is out. I came home wishing we could have stayed longer and feeling refreshed, which is exactly what I wanted. read more

Wow, what an incredible stay we had here. Came with my dad and step-mom for two nights on our tour around the coast, and we all agreed we had stayed here for the entire time. I could have easily spent a week here, alternating between sitting out front reading in the sun, walking along the river, driving to the coastal beaches just 4 miles down the road, and heading inland for a hike or two in the Hoh rainforest. This place was impeccably clean, very modern for a renovated motel built more than half a century ago. The unit was a one-bedroom (king size bed), with a full kitchen (stocked well with kitchen wares) and bathroom (with heated floors). They had wireless in each unit, a very nice TV in the bedroom. Nice mixture of modern and vintage. I slept incredibly well on the pull-out couch-ish thing (a clever little twin-sized thing) with the provided feather-bed topper. The whole place was very thoughtfully put together. They had a small selection of spices in the kitchen, thoughtful toiletries in the bathroom, and the place even boasted a laundry area ($5 a load, which you pay at the office). Very courteous people running the place, and they kept everything really nice. The daily 'refresh' of the unit felt like they were quick but they caught everything (replaced empty tissue box, replaced used coffee packet, etc). Lawn was impeccable - and the flowers were just stunning. Only thing they didn't have was a coffee grinder, as far as I could tell. But they provided little packets of coffee (which wasn't half bad for pre-ground, packet coffee). Overall, such a positive experience. I know we'll definitely be back if/when we make it over again to the peninsula. read more

An absolute gem. As a previous review said, you almost don't want people to find out about this place so you can keep it to yourself. But if you're going to be in the area, this is the place to stay. The area is unbelievably beautiful, your suite looking right out to the river. Waking up with a view like that is definitely breathtaking. The suite was cozy and super clean, providing things from extra toilet paper to glasses and dishware - even pots to cook a homecooked meal by the little furnace/fireplace. This place is one of those places that you wouldn't won't people to find out so you could have it all to yourself. I happened to find this place by pure luck, but started with having a bad luck of not able to find any good AIR BNB places, so I turned to google maps and I stumbled on to this Gem. First off the owner, I'm assuming who was helping me in front desk was the owner. She was so friendly and informative about the area, gave us the tide time table, maps and another maps of Fork of all the restuarants incase we need to grub. Room we got was so clean, beds were clean, and the restroom was clean. Has a river flowing right in front the place. It is close enough to see the beauty of this place but far enough so you feel safe to have kids around.(just be a responsible parent and always keep your eyes on the kids). 2 major best part about this place is, that it's super close to Rialto Beach, and the cost is so affordable! I am so glad I didn't get the AIR BNB and trust me I know there are good AIR BNB's I've been to plenty, but experience from this place does not compare. P.S. If you goolge this place and look at their review it has 5 full stars. I didn't believe it when I saw it, thought it was fake, but boy was I wrong. read more

Amazing! The perfect location for exploring Olympic National Park. It looks exactly like the website and review pictures, but even more beautiful. The kitchen has everything you could need/think of. While out hiking, the room was tidied up and they even replaced the used coffee filter. When we returned later in the evening the room was nice and toasty due to the pot belly stove thermostat. A truly magical place. My only regret is this review because I hope it's available the next time we are in this part of Washington! read more

Quillayute River Resort is a gem in the gorgeous NW corner of the Olympic peninsula. We spent a long weekend in May with our 2 yr old toddler. QRR is outside of the town of Forks the small size, river view and gracious hosts create a unique lodging experience. We loved the #5 unit we stayed in (updated bath with heated floors, fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds) and the real surprise were the vintage touches. The inn retained some of its mid century heritage with vintage stove and fridge. It was a very, very charming touch. The gardens and grounds were gorgeous with short trails through old growth and a swing our toddler loved. We used the BBQ and ate riverside just out the front of our door. Easy day trips into the Hoh rain forest and the rugged beaches of Rialto and 'hole in the wall' were highlights. Highly recommended, we can't wait to go back! read more

I just wanted a place that wasn't one of the 15 motels in Forks. This place was amazing. Had a great view of the river. Unit #3 (sort of a cabin, but attached to a couple of other units) was furnished extremely comfortably. In the bedroom there was a large flatscreen TV with DirectTV. There was a fully furnished kitchen. It had a sofa and a fireplace in the dining room. There was also wifi throughout. It is about 5 minutes to Realto beach, 15 minutes from forks, 15 minutes to 3rd, 2nd, and 1st beaches, 30/40 minutes to Hoh. Great central place to explore the coast and the Olympics. read more

This is a gem of a place close to the beaches and the Hoh Rain Forest in Olympia National Park. I am adding a recommendation as I don't see anything recent here and people should know about it. This is a lovely, small resort that is set up for apartment style living overlooking the river with beautiful flowers and hummingbird feeders along the walk way. Our unit was a 1 BDR with a very comfy king bed and a pullout sleeper in the living room. There was a fully equipped kitchen and it really made all the difference to being able to have a meal without looking for a decent restaurant in the area. We took full advantage. There is even a grill available outside each unit. There are laundry facilities in the premises for a small fee as well. The hosts could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Rialto Beach is about five minutes down the road. Second Beach is within 10 minutes. The Hoh Rain Forest was about 20-25 minutes. Beach Four, which turned out to be our fave for tidal pools was maybe 40 minutes south. If you are looking for clean, comfortable, convenient hospitality, this is it! read more

I went here with 3 friends and had an amazing evening. It's close to the beaches, so you can go there in the day, and in the evening it provides the most beautiful and relaxing riverside setting. The suites are well stocked with kitchen supplies, so you can do some grocery shopping in Forks and cook dinner in your suite. I look forward to going back here. read more
