I was able to get in and out very efficiently. The staff member who I was helped by was very nice and accommodating. I had the option of putting down a deposit or pay the full amount. Went in for a consultation and I was pleasantly surprised with the elegant and delightful setup of the showroom. The person we talked with was very knowledgable about all the different products available and helpful with different color, vest, and tie combinations that were possible. He did not pressure me for a sale and was very patient in explaining different color and texture combinations as well as different pricing options. Very poor experience with this company. The owner is very rude and not accommodating at all. They are very strict on the return time for the tuxes and their hours make it difficult to return in a timely fashion. The tuxes are poor quality and multiple groomsmen had issues with buttons and cuff links coming off as soon as they were put on for the wedding. Walked in without an appt and Anthony made a tux recommendation, sized me up and placed the order within 20 minutes for a Porsche Club Dinner Dance event 2 weeks out. Whole magilla arrived a day earlier and was able to pick it up conveniently. Sizing was spot on and didn't need any alterations after the fact. Drop off was 30 seconds. I can't say enough good things about Formally Modern Tuxedo. We went with them after checking out a few places for our wedding day. Anthony was a huge help and always remembered us, he has great customer service skills. Formally Modern has a lot of color options available, it would be hard not to find the color you are picturing for your day. My now husband and I came in with a vision, and my favorite part was how they actually put the suit together right in front of you so you could see how your guys will look. Originally, we agreed on one suit and a vest/tie combo. But when I returned home, I had second thoughts. Anthony was kind and patient and when we came in a second time to see more options, we were very excited with what he had come up with. The guys looked amazing on our wedding day. I elected to go with Formally Modern Tuxedo in Schaumburg for my wedding in which myself (the groom) and groomsmen. I actually was looking at another tuxedo rental company until I dropped by this location and it was in working with Anthony that made me go with Formally Modern. What made the difference is that he encouraged me to do what I liked with him putting his input and expertise in while I was making the decisions on the style/color for the tuxedos. Matt who also works at that location was a big help when Anthony was off/out of work. Some extra things that stood out in my mind about the services provided by them: - I had a cousin that was from out of town that was going to be in the wedding and they were able to allow him to get measured at a later date than all the other guys since he was not locate (they also have us an option in which he can send in his measurements but we elected the prior option to get a better fit for him) - The email response time was always quick anytime I sent a note to them or had a question. - Every time I dropped by the shop, it really was a fun experience as we always had something to talk about and laugh about things. - They always made me feel really comfortable when I was at the shop. Least to say, myself and the groomsmen all looked sharp for the wedding. There were no issues our tuxedos, shoes nor anything else. The fabric and quality of everything was on point. If I could negative stars I would. I'm getting married in 2 days. My fiance is there with his groomsmen trying on their tuxes. The grooms men's tuxes are the wrong color and my fiance's tux doesn't fit at all! All they want to do is refund their money and push them out the door. They don't want to try and fix their mistake at all!!!! They are telling them that there I nothing they can do! This is some of the worst customer service that I have ever seen. I was quite disappointed with Formally Modern Tuxedo. Usually I find the two-star rating as kind of pointless, because things are usually great, good, okay, or shitty. This place had okay service, but the quality of the rentals was unacceptable. The guys at the Schaumburg location were nice enough to earn a star. I was a groomsman in a wedding for my brother. When I first tried on the tux, I had trouble with the hanger for the pants, as it was bent. It actually broke when I took the pants off of it. I was specifically told to lay the shirt and pants on the floor and that they would come and hang it. Normally I would have done this myself, but with the broken hanger, I figured they would fix it. No such luck. When I got to the hotel and opened the bag with the tux, the pants were not even folded and just flopped over the still broken hanger, with hard creases diagonally across the pants. Thankfully the hotel had an ironing board. The shirts were not good. But that may have been a preference of the groom. When I was helping the groom get his tie on, we noticed that it had not been folded properly and had wrinkles and creases all over it. This was a tie he had purchased. The cufflinks for the groom actually broke. Fortunately, he had his own. The best man's top vest button popped off during pictures. AND - the buttons on all of the vests were so worn that the black buttons had a white sheen over them. Black buttons should never look white! Bottom line: The poor quality of their tuxedos and accessories negates their customer service. read more

Absolutely fantastic! Tony (Schaumburg), Alex (Clybourn), and Donny (Clybourn) are great. Typically, I'm a pretty difficult customer and find the level of service I demand to be too high for most places. These guys are great, though. Not only are they patient, they are also very knowledgeable and follow through when they say they will. They were head and shoulders above their competition. I rented a tuxedo from here this past Thursday for one of my best friend's wedding. I absolutely hate getting dressed up, but the tux fit like a glove. It's amazing how much better you looking having something tailored for you vs buying and wearing something off the rack. I got a lot of compliments on the tux. The staff here was friendly and made the whole process from getting measured to returning my tux comfortable and effortless. I had such a great experience with Formally Modern Tuxedo and I must share it with the Yelp community. It was two days before my friend's wedding when I went to pick up my tuxedo, and the pressures of being the best man had put me in a lousy mood. But that vanished within a few minutes of entering FMT. The guys that helped me were courteous, professional and personable. This location was really busy when I went to pick up my tuxedo, but they treated me like I was the only one in the store, giving me the one-on-one attention I needed. When I said that the shirt was a little snug in the neck, the sales associate that was helping me quickly provided a solution for an ultra comfortable fit. The tuxedo fit so well in fact, that I thought it had been made for me. These guys know what they're doing when it comes to fitting a man for a tuxedo. The kind of treatment was not just a lucky occurrence for me that one Thursday. I went a total of three times (initial fitting, picking up and dropping off) and I had similarly great experiences every time. After being totally disgusted at the attitude of a "chain" men's store when just inquiring about wedding tuxes, we happened upon Formally Modern. We were a little worried about out of state guys not being able to be measured by the same company but their service from the time we walked in was impossible to resist. They were PHENOMENAL. When we found ourselves an hour and a half away, the day before the wedding, with 3 ill fitting tuxes (NO FAULT of Formally Modern), they went out of their way to somehow "figure out" what we needed over the phone by asking the right questions, got their hands on what they thought would be right immediately and we made arrangements to get them picked up by very helpful friends. I am sorry that manger is poor to make people happy because he had nothing to change to right things. my bridemaid dress is not fitting my shoulder and too long under my legs after it was sewed one week ago. I wanted it fixed and sewed correct but it costs too much for shortest sew. My parents were very mad that he refused to copy paper and not telling sewing company to change costs because manger make very strick policy for customers. I will take it to sewing shop to fix it or my papa will sew it. my papa is very good at sewing dress and pants. I am not rich and single mother of four children. I worked for 8 dollars per hour. I have litle money but I want to make my sister happy. Sorrry I give one star because my dress is pretty but it dont fit my body. I will tell people not go to david shop anymore. We were incredibly pleased with our experience at Formally Modern Tuxedo (Schaumburg) and the amazing help provided by Matt! My husband and the groomsmen looked really great in their suits and the pick-up/drop-off process was seamless! I gave this place a 2 because the staff working there were really nice and tried to help us. But the cloths are not the best. We got 16 tuxedos there for my wedding totaling over $2300 most of which I paid myself. We did not get to do the final fittings until 2 days before the wedding and many items were wrong. For my tuxedo as the groom, I was missing a button on my vest which was not missing during the fitting, my shoes were not the shoes I tried on during the fitting as they were way to big. I think they swapped mine with someone else's while gathering the clothes to put in the garment bags. The worst part was that they did not have a shirt that fit me properly. Either the neck was extremely too big or the stomach area was extremely too tight. I had to go and spend $114 dollars to buy a shirt that matched the others and fit properly. Because I was told that there was nothing that they could do. My brother did not have the cash to buy a shirt so his neck was like 4 sizes to big and his pants were flooding. My brother complained and the guy who fit him assured him that he looked fine. When I arrived at our venue everyone kept asking him why his pants were so short. All the shirts were dingy. A couple of others had missing buttons, an my cousin's cufflinks came with one broken. All in all I am so upset that I spent so much money and my grooms men especially my brother looked like crap and our pictures will be ruined. Again I don't think that the employees were at fault for everything and they were very nice. read more

After stopping at David's Bridal to look at dresses I decided to go next door and look at the men's stuff at Formally Modern Tuxedo. What a Great Find! Not only is it really nice looking (TV for the guys, fireplace) and the tuxes were top of the line , but the service was far superior to anything I have encountered with my wedding. I decided to look at invitations while I was there and they even offered me something to drink while I sat there. Many of my friends have used this store for tuxedo rentals for their weddings so this store was highly recommended when I needed a suit for a job interview. Being out of work and needing a suit for a job interview is kind of a catch 22. When you're out of work you don't have a lot of money for a new suit, but you want to impress your prospective employer so you don't want to just go buy a cheap suit. The staff was extremely friendly and supportive and the provided me with a great solution. They offer suit rentals in the latest fashions for the season. So I was able to get a great Hugo Boss suit for my interview. Throughout the process of selecting the suit and trying it on for fitting they encouraged me in my job search and boosted my confidence for my interview. If anyone wants to get calibrated and prepared for an interview these people will set up you. I wound up getting the job and they offered me an unbeatable price to buy the suit.
