Thanks to Shawn Watkins at Forrest Windows for talking me into a replacing my broken sliding glass door to a moving wall from All Weather Architectural Aluminum. Forrest Windows wanted to ensure the door looked like it was part of the original installation and not an after market look(outside casing that covers up the stucco to the door casing). In order to do this, they need to break away some of the stucco and existing trim. Once the door was installed, they sent out a stucco expert (I say expert because the stucco matched 100%). They completed the installation of the 3 panel moving wall within a day and the stucco was completed within the same week. I now have a fantastic product and everyone who visits talks about how amazing the moving wall is. I absolutely love the product and my experience with Forrest Windows. I highly recommend using Forrest Windows for your next remodel or new home build. They listen to what you are looking for and provide recommendations on what would be the best solution that you will absolutely love. The staff was very professional as well including the installation team. They took time to ensure after the installation, the area was just as clean as before. The 5 star rating was well deserved. This place has nice service technicians. They try hard to fix the problem and in my case they did. I give them 5-stars. In the other hand I don't think Shawn has ever heard that the customer is always right. My home is a new build with Milgard windows I had Bay Alarm install a security system. The windows wouldn't close because of the sensor. I called Nay and they changed them out to the slimmest design they have but three windows still wouldn't latch. Since I couldn't lock the windows I couldn't activate the alarm system so I put the contract on hold while I contacted Forrest Windows to ask Shawn to call Milgard out. Meanwhile my homeowners insurance contacts me saying I have a special rate because I have an alarm system. Who knew State Farm and Bay communicate with one another. When I talked with Shawn all I got was push back saying it was Bay's problem. He refused to call Milgard and got pissy. After I hung up I called Milgard. Today they sent out the nicest technician who adjusted the three windows that were giving me problems and even installed new balances in all the windows so they operate easier. 5-Stars for Milgard. 5-Stars for Forrest Tech's and minus 5 Stars for Shawn. I don't write reviews so to make an account so that I can write my very first review is impressive. I called last week to ask for an appointment, broken window glass, a few balancers and new track and rollers for my vinyl sliding glass door. Unfortunately, they are so over booked but impressively found the time to "squeeze" me in. I was very grateful that they were able to get the glass within one week and installed the very next day after it arrived. I am so glad I was patient, the owner, Shawn was very attentive to my needs and my situation, Jim and Mike did a great job with their installation, they were fast, funny and very professional. Samantha, the office gal was just the sweetest she was very communicative throughout the whole process. We consulted with Shawn at Forrest Windows to have a wall of windows replaced with some high quality custom fit All Weather moving glass walls and door. Shawn walked us through the product, options and construction aspects required to meet our needs. We signed a contract and patiently waited through winter to start construction. The project was quoted at 3 days to complete, it was big job, and it got done on time. We had a few visits from the manufacturer, All Weather, to make final adjustments after installation, it took some time to get All Weather to finalize the adjustments, no fault of Forrest Windows, but eventually, everything was made right with help from Shawn at Forrest Windows. I have Milgard Windows that were installed in my house remodel in the late 1980's. The spring that actuates the window latch had broken in one of the windows, thus the latch worked but would not maintain its' position on the stile. I found Shawn Watkins at Forrest Windows & Service in Orangevale. He just happened to have a small supply of these springs for just such occasions and I was able to secure one from him. He mentioned that when he runs across vintage 'parts' for Milgard windows, he buys them to have them available for DIY people like me and for his crew when they work on Milgard Windows. I really appreciate that forethought as these parts are pretty hard to find now, 35 years later. I will be doing some other repairs to my windows, including some after warranty glass replacement. I will be working with Shawn and Forrest Windows for these repairs/upgrades. If you have Milgard windows, this is definitely a business that should be on your speed dial. Forrest did a great job installing modern vinyl windows inside the old aluminum window frames - it made the job less expensive and didn't disturb the stucco. They explained all the options, made suggestions, and answered our questions. They caulked around the new windows to stop the water that had been seeping through the corners of the old aluminum frames, and even pulled the alarm wires through the new window frames so I could continue to use wired sensors at the windows. They also did a great job with my daughter's sliding glass door, replacing the tracks and rollers, and ordering and installing a dog-resistant screen door with a dog door. (They warned us the frame of the dog door wasn't well supported, but she chose to have it. It looks sturdy enough as long as the dog doesn't run into the frame at full speed.) And when I had first gone into the shop to ask about the job, they gave me a lock cylinder with a key to replace the existing one for which we had no key. read more

I had searched all around Folsom and Orangevale for a special application weather stripping (flap) for a sliding door. A local glass shop suggested I give Forrest Windows a visit. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Beau. After a short conversation, it became apparent that he did not have the part that I needed. However, Beau did a quick internet search using a slightly different description (from the description that I had used) of the part. Yesterday I called Forrest Window and spoke with Shawn about screen door repair and cost ,Shawn was extremely helpful and friendly over the phone. We purchased 16 windows, including seven picture windows, and a sliding glass door from Forrest Windows. The prices were very competitive, they assisted with SMUD financing documentation, and everyone we worked with was friendly and helpful. They installed the windows and door over two days, sealing the house for the night in between. The installation crew was excellent. I called Forrest windows to get parts for my big sliding glass door that we have been wrestling with for many years. I spoke with Mike, has very knowledgable and easy to talk with. I've been struggling with a Milgard sliding glass screen door that hasn't worked right almost since it was installed. It kept falling off the bottom track and no one could adjust it. I got a recommendation from a friend on Forrest Windows so I called them and talked to Shawn. He explained that the adjustment was not where everyone thought it was and told me how to adjust it myself.
