My initial consultation with Thomas was nothing less than perfect. He was prompt, pleasant,…read moreknowledgeable, and quite a conversationalist. We chatted for a couple of hours about expectations for my kitchen remodel as well as personal anecdotes that "helped" us get to know each other. He presented as an authentic, faithful family-man and conscientious service provider. I am single, 65 year old, retired woman and sometimes I am faced with challenges but Thomas was quite reassuring to me. BOY WAS I THE FOOL. He came back within a few days with a contract for me to sign and asked for a check for down payment. He said he needed the cash for the cabinets because he liked to pay his bills as he goes and would need the money to order the cabinets. I was taken off guard and hesitated, but he was just so convincing. So, I gave him a $12,000 check and thought the best of him. The next week he contacted me and said the dumpster would be delivered within a day or so and the team set to break down and tear out my old kitchen would be there on Saturday. Great! All concerns were cleared and we were set! The two guys came and were the most pleasant young men who worked hard for three or four hours. They cleaned the mess up and left the shell of a kitchen. Thomas calls and says he needs to pick up a check for $2,000. It was indeed in the contract that a payment was due. I wrote him a check for $2,000. I had not planned on painting the walls above my cabinets until I saw how they really needed cleaning before putting brand new cabinets up. It was already Wednesday and Thomas had not said anything about a crew coming on Thursday, and I figured no cabinet crew would be starting a new install on Friday. I asked Thomas just to make sure that I had time to paint. He was "accommodating" with me painting and told me just to let him know when I was done. I told him I would be ready for his crew on Monday.... because that's what I was lead to believe was the schedule. No word from him that week... then on through the next ... and when asked if he had any plans for my kitchen he said he had to do something with his crew while I painted so he sent them to another job. I said ok. Then he said it would be 2-3 days. So after 10 I questioned him again. He was slower and slower to respond. He sent me a picture of him in a hospital bed but no message or explanation. He had a cap on his hair indicating he was having/had a procedure. He "butt dialed" me and I answered and he acted like he couldn't hear me. So a little later he calls me as he is getting in a vehicle (seatbelt dinging, engine cranking, voice going to speaker) and said he was probably going to have a heart cath. He did not elaborate and I didn't ask. Hospitals will not let you drive yourself away after having any procedure done. Days go by.... I get no response with answers about fixing my kitchen. I ask him if he is ignoring me and he assures me he is not. Sucker. I am a sucker for a liar. Meanwhile, my kitchen has been left with sheetrock off the walls, power outlets dangling and wires exposed, open hole from the exhaust vent through the floor to my crawlspace, natural gas pipe/connector sticking up, water pipes exposed, and the floor air vent (sheet metal) sticking two inches up from the floor. I have grandchildren and this is NOT A SAFE CONDITION to walk away from. Thomas has "voided my contract" because (?) I had unreasonable timeline. His letter was not clear and made no sense but he was rambling to legitimize. Anyway, I am including pictures of the condition I've been living with since March 7. He told me from the start to finish would be no longer than three weeks. And now HE IS GONE. GHOSTING ME.

Sadly, I am hearing from others who have had the unfortunate experience of being scammed by Tom…read moreHale of Phoenix Construction Group. Beware that he also has a history of re-naming his company to escape punishment. I had hoped he would do the right thing and return my money, but sadly, I am unable to bring you that good news. Tom do the right thing, return my money! Until he does, STAY AWAY from Tom Hale and Phoenix Construction Group!

Good Morning, George is a great guy! He was referred to me…read moreby a friend who uses this company to flip houses. My friend said, "his fees are high, but he guarantees his work." Let me start with I have NEVER had construction/renovation before, so my issues may not be issues at all. Facts: .Construction started sometime in April?? .It is now almost October. Renovation is ongoing. .Timeline given 6wks .Asked but was not given a new timeline .Cost: 88.5k w/o appliances. Everything else included .Some add-ons are 12k..... .there should be some subtractions due to a mishap with one of the contractors. .at present, I have been asked to buy the faucets, lighting, "Delta kit," and ceiling fans. Hopefully, this is coming out of the 100K provided. --My friend who flips houses and referred this company stated, "should have completed this project months ago. " .Because of frustration, I asked my male friend to talk to George so that this project would move along. .No, increase in movement. As a single woman with no insight into this process...I became a pest. The Contractor ignored my text..... I am a disabled veteran with PTSD. My anxiety is through the roof. This whole process and request for more and more money have me spinning out of control with signs/symptoms of PTSD. THE CONTRACTOR IS AWARE OF THE DIAGNOSIS and has insight into how it manifests. Again, I have never had renovation before, so maybe this is normal...IDK??? I have no judgment, just concerns. These writings are only information. YOU DETERMINE ITS VALIDITY......I have no experience. Have a GREAT DAY!!
