WOW! A coworker recommended Fort Knox, and we were blown away. I'm still a little hesitant about telling everyone about Fort Knox because then it may get more popular and difficult to book. This is cageless boarding. Our rat terrier was with no more than 4 other small dogs at time. He had a good time and is still recovering 2 days later from all of the playing. We received a tour of the resort and we were impressed. You can send your dog to the spa and be bathed before you pick him up. They also have a "taxi" that can pick your dog up at your home if necessary. Extremely professional and competent. They did not make me feel crazy or overbearing when I called to check in and see how our puppy dog was. We will absolutely be back. Thanks Fort Knox. read more

Please see my previous review as well. Tucker has been going to Ft. Knox since February 2015 and every single time we've left him, he's come home happy & totally exhausted from playing with the other dogs. I wanted to update my review because this past weekend was the first time we asked them to give him a bath and trim his nails the day we picked him up. THIS is how it should be done you guys! Tucker smelled SO good and was so handsome in the bandana they put on him. This is still the best of the best!! The people there are so, so good to my puppy and I am so thankful we have a place to take him. I still HIGHLY recommend Ft. Knox for boarding but also for baths & nail trims. read more

They called and cancelled our reservation for Memorial Day weekend less than a week before we were to drop our dog off. Sapphire has been going there since she was a puppy (at least 4 years) yet they said she was aggressive towards other dogs. Not once was this mentioned when we picked her up. Why wait a month after her last visit and less than a week before we were to drop her off to let us know this? And the kicker is that they provide a written "report" of each visit when she is picked up. We have those last two reports and they both state how sweet she was. But almost a month after the last stay and they call and say that she is "aggressive" towards other dogs. If this was an issue then why not discuss it sometime during the last 4 years or tell us when we pick her up or put it on the report. Guess they don't need our money! We have had issues with them recently forgetting to bath her or being closed on a day that we scheduled a pickup. All of this coincides with an ownership change I have been told. Shame is that we recommended them to others. Well no more, we will be telling everyone to go elsewhere. read more

We left our dog at Fort Knox for 5 days while we were out of town. This was the first time we've ever left our dog at any type of kennel, so needless to say we were cautious and concerned for our hairy family member. Therefore, we asked to check in with our pet from time to time through them posting pictures on their Facebook page. Although this is not standard practice here, they agreed to do so. Couple days into our vacation, no pictures. I emailed them and they responded within a few hours which was nice, and said they'd have some pictures by end of day or the next day at the latest. End of next day comes and goes, but still no pictures. The care of our pet seemed to be okay when I picked her up, but the total disregard for something they agreed upon that would set us at ease that our pet was being properly cared for is outrageously upsetting. This was the most expensive kennel in our area and I paid that because the environment seemed the least evasive to our pet, but when you ask for a simple request that they agreed to accommodate and they don't deliver will make me think twice about coming here again. And lastly, a place that claims themselves as a pet resort rather than a kennel, charges more than most, and has a website portal of their own should already have several cameras on that website so owners can check in when they want to and not be dependent on open promises. read more

This place is great! We've left our dogs here numerous time and each time has been a good experience. The staff members are friendly and seem to really care about animals. The facility is clean and well maintained. There are no weak spots outside that would allow a dog to escape. It's secure and safe. They also prorate time so you are charged only the amount of time your dog is there. Other places try to charge for another full day. I can't recommend Fort Knox enough. read more
