Despite the limited hours, as someone with chronic illnesses, it was a no-brained to switch from CVS to Fort Mill Pharmacy! I first switched to FTP after I had medicine compounded there. They know what medicines I need each month and always have it. If they say that they will order a medication, they do. They never forget to order it and then again and again... Anyway, FMP always lets me know when the generic changes, how to save money with a generic that is similar to a medicine that my insurance requires prior-authorization for, and they explain everything, which is helpful when you are always dealing with insurance! My (elderly) father, who lived a few hrs away, recently moved in with me and I was trying to get his prescriptions moved here. At first, we decided on using a chain store. I went in to pick his medication up and the cashier said they were going to cost over $600! I called my dad and told him the price and he got very upset, it was over 3x what he was use to paying. So I suggested we try a pharmacy my friend had just told me about the night before. She said Fort Mill Pharmacy had saved her a ton of money when she switched her family's prescriptions there and she especially bragged on the person that had helped her do so! I called them and spoke to a very helpful lady who gave me the price on each medication he needed and the cost came up to $152. Wow!!! At first, I thought something had to be wrong but no, they really will be saving my dad $500 a MONTH on his medication!!! It's truly sad how the other pharmacy could mark up prescriptions that much. From their fast turn-around time filling prescriptions to their free delivery service, they really are the best family owned business I have ever seen. They have gone out of their way for my family more than once and I will never forget it. If your insurance doesn't require you to use a certain pharmacy, you're CRAZY not to use Fort Mill Pharmacy! I can't even begin to tell you how great it is to have this pharmacy there for my family!! We have been going there for a number of years and I love that there is so little turnover that you really get to know them. I can call and ask questions about my prescriptions or my insurance coverage and they take the time to go over everything with me to make sure I understand. My daughter had switched to CVS while in college and since graduating has switched back to Fort Mill Pharmacy because not only did CVS charge her the wrong amount, they gave her the wrong prescription and then told her to figure it out!! When she called FMP to switch, she told them what was going on and FMP took the time to call the insurance AND the doctor, then called my daughter to let her know what had happened THEN got her a coupon to reduce her copay!!!
