Horse riding trails, sights for horse trailer rigs, a tie area for horse on a few of the sights with lake views. Large campsites! There is a pavilion with a few tables if you have a group/party. All at your campsite! Quiet time begins at 10pm. We were up way later sitting by the fire, just turned our radio off at 10pm. Not many campers, which is great! I LOVE this place!

No running water, no showers, no flush toilets, but the outhouses were clean and didn't smell. It's a self-registration system when you get there, no ranger station or reservation system. For $10, it's a pretty good deal. More of a stopover than a destination. My only complaint is that it's very difficult to find and figure out after dark, because some of the signs are tiny and hard to read. It's not clearly marked how you get there on the highway once you see the sign. Once you're off the highway, take the paved road till it ends. Turn left and in a few miles, the campground entrance will be on your right.

Stonebridge (#1) is one of the best parks in Fargo, in my opinion. And no, I am not any part biased…read morebecause I live right along the park (is that telling too much? haha).. You can decide whether I'm bluffing or not. To clarify, I guess this is Stonebridge #1 Park, because there is also a Stonebridge #2 Park and for some reason they couldn't give them separate names? But this is an extremely popular park, so it's not just me glamorizing it. If you go to the park or drive past on any remotely nice day past 4pm, you will see DOZENS of people there. Just on the basketball court alone there are so many people hooping it, sometimes it stills boggles my mind because it doesn't seem like the park should be able to fit that many people. A few years ago Stonebridge #1's playground was completely torn out and renovated, and it is way awesomer now (it's a word don't even question it). Super clean equipment and fun stuff for all ages! Even as a fully grown adult I can't help but love their zipline ride or the swing sets. The regular swings are quite high up too, so you get a better swing once you get going, and there's even a double swing. Not only can you play around at the park, but there's also a nice gazebo and lots of picnic tables spread out around the grass, with built in grills nearby most of them. Tons of families go there in the evenings and have meals, and even family reunions. It's really sweet. And connected to the playground, basketball court and grill out areas is a ginormous field- there are soccer goals, a running path along the side, and all the room to do whatever your heart contents outside. There's often soccer practices held there, family and friends playing a game of football, people working out or other. My high school even hosts their annual Powderpuff football games on the field. Stonebridge #1 is a fantastic park, and don't you forget it (or get it mixed up with Stonebridge #2)!

We made a quick detour to see the world's largest Buffalo monument in Jamestown as it was on theme…read morewith many of the other quick roadside attractions that we were stopping at. When you arrive, you have to drive through this little frontier village and it was completely deserted when we were there so it was more like a ghost to town. It's a cute little old west themed area with buildings and displays but it was obviously closed when we were there. We had to drive through to the end of it to see the Buffalo. While you can easily view him from the parking area, we walked over to be right underneath him and he is quite big and impressive. It's hard to tell just how large it is from the photos but my husband is 6 ft tall with an impressive wingspan and standing directly underneath with his arms stretched up, he still could not touch it's belly. The singular Rocky mountain oyster protruding from the bottom made us laugh though! There are also displays with images of the building process and history about the monument and I love that they have a phone number you can call if you want to hear the story. We used this function for some of the other stops we made and it's a nice option and would be great for people with kids and the visually impaired. Overall it was just a quick 10-minute stop for a photo op but it was fun enough for us and I imagine when the frontier village is open and there are a lot of people around that it's much more fun with a lot more things to do.

It is a manned North Dakota State Historical Site, and a great North Dakota find. Ft. Abercrombie is the first Military Fort in North Dakota, with a great story behind it. I would recommend visiting the site, and paying the $8 fee (per adult) to visit the whole museum, to hear stories from Paul, the site Interpreter; and a walking tour with the Site supervisor, Lenny.
