We can't say enough great things about this place... we love our dog to the moon and are so lucky to have such a loving, caring place for her to stay when we are out of town. But Heather said it better, so here is her review: We are fairly regular visitors to Sturgeon County Kennels, bringing our pooch JoJo in while we're out of town throughout the year. We have been bringing her here for about seven years and do not hesitate to recommend the facility to absolutely everyone we can. The team here is amazing and our girl literally power pulls us from the car to the main building each time we arrive and if her tail excitedly helicoptered any faster, she would be flying there! Aside from the most fantastic team of professionals, who we truly believe care for our dog as much as we do, the facility is very well kept and clean no matter what time of the day you arrive. A family run small business, it appears to be a busy location at peak times, so it's good to make reservations in advance. The layout is such, though, that a full house doesn't translate into over-populated and all the dogs have their own private space to roam in their kennels in addition to access to a common area outside. Our pooch JoJo is great with people and bigger dogs but isn't so keen on little dogs. The Sturgeon County team always takes note and makes sure she doesn't bother the little guys but still gets her exercise and social time with the big dogs. Last but not least, we can't say enough about Sue from the team. She truly has become a friend we look forward to seeing and our dog is so genuinely overjoyed each time she's there! Sue goes above and beyond in her customer service focus and it's more than evident she loves her job and the dogs she cares so well for. We've test driven a half dozen kennels in the Edmonton area and now look no further. We will continue to bring JoJo to her home away from home where she is cared for like at her own home. Without ever having met us, Jen stepped in and made short notice accommodations to go get our dogs keep them overnight, and make sure they got on their new flights at the crack of dawn. It was so far above and beyond the call of duty. Jen was fantastic to communicate with and the staff sent us pictures and a report card to assure us the pups were doing great there. I wish I could take back my decision to board my dog at Creekside. She was dropped off a happy,…read morefriendly and healthy 9.5 month old puppy... freshly groomed with her tail wagging. We picked her up 7-days later and did not even recognize her. She was angry, scared, damp and covered in mats. They had bathed her and there was still shampoo left in her fur. We gave her a bath at home and found a hot spot on her chest. I called Creekside the day after we picked her up and asked if there was anything we should know about our dog's stay as she was aggressive, hiding, scared and in bad physical shape. She wasn't eating or drinking. They mentioned they saw the hot spot the day before we picked her up - but failed to tell us when we did pick her up. I asked that they have their manager (in this case the vet who is affiliated) call. me. I also sent an email to their facility the day after we picked her up with the photos below. These photos were taken by the vet at an emergency vet visit on a Sunday August long weekend evening. This Emerg Vet told us there was no question this all developed while at the kennel and he would provide any write-up necessary. We spent 3-hours at an emergency vet. We stayed up until 4AM with a dog that was in so much pain she could not lie down. I did not receive a call. I did not receive an email. It is now Tuesday. Their actions suggest a lack of interest in the health and well-being of their guests. I have a $418 vet bill. I have a dog who is on 3 prescription drugs. I have a dog who was in 'excruciating pain' (our vets words) And we had to cancel our trip to the cabin due to her condition + plans with friends. I am sure this facility is a fun place for dogs... and I do not doubt that my dog had fun and received playful attention from the people who work there; however, there was no attention to the health and welfare of my dog. Disappointing. Especially given the ownership by a vet.

I asked for her leash and they couldn't find it. My son confirmed that he had left the leash with them when he dropped off my dog. He attended the Creekside Boarding. They found the leash. I washed my dog and her food container when I got home. It took some time before she returned to her normal self. This place should be closed.

Veterinarians were caring, followed up with phone calls and demonstrated excellent clinical skills and clinical acumen when assessing our dog and providing recommendations. We are very grateful for the care provided to our furry friend. My compliments to Dr. Tam who provided internal medicine consultation and recommendations with excellent follow up. Dr. Baxter was very helpful in assessing the condition of our dog and helped us make the decision to proceed with end of life care but left the final decision to us. I would recommend this clinic highly. The care is expensive but you pay for their expertise in assessing and treating your pet. Consider purchasing pet insurance.
