We have had a blast here during New Years celebrations and also Independence Day celebrations. We've been on tours and cattle drives and rodeos and restaurants and shopping trips and even more than that - with just our family and with friends! We've love it and think you will too - it's great for all members of the family!

Walking into the Fort Worth Stockyards felt like time-traveling straight into the Wild West--if the Wild West had barbecue joints, gift shops, and cold beer on tap. Cobblestone streets echoed with the sound of boots and the low grumble of longhorn cattle, and the air smelled like leather, smoked brisket, and a little bit of Texas pride. I caught the cattle drive right on time--those massive horns swinging side to side while the cowboys strolled along like it was just another Tuesday. People lined the street, phones out, jaws dropped. It was equal parts touristy and totally charming. Afterward, I wandered Mule Alley, ducked into a saloon, then found myself inside Billy Bob's, where live music bounced off neon signs and dance lessons broke out like a flash mob in cowboy boots. Even if you don't dance, you'll at least tap your foot. Sure, it's a little polished around the edges, but the Stockyards still have grit and soul. Whether you come for the rodeo, the history, or just a good photo with a steer, you'll leave smelling like the West and smiling like you meant it.

Nice historic environment to share with family. Longhorn drive was really cool and the kids had fun with it. Festive atmosphere including some decent shopping. I refuse to pay $25 or $30 for a ball cap. But I actually found some nice ones for around $10. One shop had an unexpectedly low price on cowhides and rabbit hides too. Tons of food options. Photo opportunities, and even a clown making balloon longhorn hats for the little ones. Fun and educational. Prices for parking could be better advertised.

Visiting Texas for the first time and stopped at the Stockyards! This was the perfect way to get all the "feels" of Texas culture. The restaurants were a good price and the brisket was amazing! The shops, however, were a bit expensive. They certainly had everything you could think of though. It was really cool to see everything and feel like I've actually experienced Texas! I would suggest going earlier in the day and expect to walk a good bit. Give yourself the whole day to take it all in.

Love this place! Old West! Plenty of shops and eats here. It's hot in the summer but there are plenty of shaded areas. Just be careful when you walk around....the walkways are old and uneven.

Visited this while in Dallas. They have cattle drive at 1130 and 4 PM where they have longhorns paraded through the streets. Has lot of eateries and shopping options and is a good option while ij DFW area.

It was designated as a historic district of Fort Worth in 1976. Some people may think of the stock exchange because of the name Stockyards, but it has nothing to do with stocks. Instead, it was named that way because cowboys traded cattle and horses in Fort Worth, which was the center of small trade since ancient times. Since Fort Worth calls itself the Gateway to the West (Where the West begins), Stockyards, located in the heart of Cowtown, can be said to be a significant tourist attraction. At the entrance, there is a Texas flag and large letters that say "Forth Worth Stock Yards", and inside, there are various shops and things to see. In particular, the Livestock Exchange and the rodeo theater called Cowtown Coliseum are famous. When the weather is fine, you can watch cowboys bring out cattle twice a day to reenact the cattle drive.

What a treat to stroll down these historic streets, rodeo area/Cowtown Coliseum, stockyards and train depot. Lots of cute shops, famous watering holes and restaurants owned by famous chefs. What's not to love? Then add the amazing longhorns strolling down the avenue twice a day steered by cowboys on horseback. Quite a site!

The Fort Worth Stockyards is definitely a must visit when coming to Dallas Fort Worth! This is a true Texas experience where the wild West begins! The Stockyards in Fort Worth has a long history of Texas's famous livestock industry. It is located in Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. They still have the original brick walkways and wooden Corrals. This is the world's only place where you can see the longhorn cattle drive that happens twice daily, starting at 1130 am. and 4pm. Since 1999, the Fort Worth Herd of 17 longhorns with each steer representing a decade of Fort Worths past walk the stockyards herded by Cowboys on a horse. This is a great experience to view with friends and family and learn the history of the stockyards. Along the brick walkways and wooden saloons, there are plenty of restaurants that serve BBQ, Texas Mex, and other Texas favorites. They have bars that serve alcohol and mixed drinks as well as candy shops and souvenirs. The Fort Worth Stockyard HAS IT ALL! Come out to where the West begins and view the ponies and horses and enjoy your time, but don't forget to take a lot of pictures since this is a lifetime experience you won't forget!

Everyday at 11:30 and then again at 4:00 they run Texas Longhorns through the street. (Minus Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas). A pretty incredible experience. Filled with live music, shops and restaurants as well. I unfortunately didn't have the time to go in and see what all was going on. It was quite busy because they had a rodeo that evening. I just didn't get a chance to set my day up properly. Another great find while I was there...THE JOHN WAYNE MUSEUM!!!

This place has changed so much in the past 4 years since I've been here. They've added so much. It was much more crowded than it's been in the past. The old town is so cool to explore and I love this area so much. They have many shops, restaurants, and bars along the way.

I have looked back over the comments here and noticed that there is somebody named Sam S as the business owner. I find it interesting that you cannot see his profile or his full name or picture. I'd actually considered reaching out to the owner about the incident, as it looked as if the owner is fairly responsive, but after attempting to find out who "Sam S. Business Owner" is, it's not possible here. I'd like to know who Sam S is. Not only was there an issue with the employees attitude upon entering the establishment, but after the attack, attempted to take his picture with my phone as he backed away towards the kitchen, putting his hand in front of his face, it seems all of his brothers, of the same ethnicity, surrounded him. They all work there. The group of about 10-12 ethnic young men started yelling at me and said put your phone away, while attempting to grab it. I did get this one picture of the attacker(employee, and will be seeing Care Now today and talking with the police as the incident involved a knife from his pocket. I'm not sure who the owners are, seeming what looked like a bunch of possibly Somali looking employees come to his rescue, and keeping me from taking that attackers picture, you can see that they don't act like normal Americans and they seemed to have accidents. I've never seen anything like this. Just be careful if you decide to go in this place. Also, noted during this visit, other employees were clearly drinking on the job. I didn't see this young man (attacker) drinking personally, but with other employees mentioning that the General Manager was there, so they needed to hide their drinking, it makes me wonder if the whole staff is constantly drinking or on something else. I have brothers who proudly served our country, these Landmark employees will not intimidate, as they so stated after the attack.

The memorial itself is a modest circular plaza, surrounded by stone benches and engraved with quotes from Kennedy--words that echo hope, service, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. As I sat on one of the benches, the noise of nearby traffic faded away. I found myself reading the inscriptions, feeling their idealism and weight.
