I'm a relative newbie to the Raploch Community Campus gym. The main appeal to me was the cheap…read moremembership fee and the rolling contract; you simply apply for a new membership after the previous month's has run out. At the moment, I'm still on my first month as a Raploch gym member. If you don't mind compromising on timetable and availability of classes, then you'll be more than happy with paying £18 a month for unlimited gym and classes. For me, the main appeal has been the classes and I've been really pleased with the quality of the classes so far, having tried Metafit, Body Pump, Body Combat and a few others. I also like that you can both book and cancel classes online. When I was a member of the gym on the university campus, their system of giving out tickets 15 minutes before the class wasn't convenient. It was a bit of a pain to make the journey to the gym for a class that you weren't guaranteed a place in. So, for me the simple online booking service is a major bonus. Active Stirling own this facility, so essentially what you're getting is a condensed service of that offered at the larger Peak leisure centre in Stirling. Naturally, the Raploch is smaller and the centre is used by the college in the day, so it isn't a surprise that there's less to choose from with classes only operating in the evenings, other than a Thursday afternoon Tai Chi class and Saturday morning classes. Unfortunately, the gym closes completely on a Sunday. At the moment, my budget can't stretch to much more than this for a gym membership. In future, I'd like to look for something a little more intense and specialised locally. - In the mean time, Raploch Community Campus Gym will do perfectly for now.
