Absolutely ridiculous customer service and one of the most illogical management decisions I've experienced. We arrived about 90 minutes before Happy Hour ended expecting to enjoy the advertised specials. We were told Happy Hour was bar only, which would have been fine... except the entire bar was closed for a private event. So let me get this straight... your Happy Hour is only available in the one area of the restaurant that customers aren't allowed to use? The restaurant wasn't busy, so we politely asked if they could honor the Happy Hour pricing at a table in the main dining room. The young server checked with the manager, came back, and said, "Sorry, we can't." That wasn't a policy decision--it was a customer service failure. When circumstances make it impossible for customers to access the bar, a manager with even a little common sense would accommodate guests in the dining room. Instead, they chose to lose paying customers over a completely avoidable situation. So we simply replied, "Sorry, we're leaving." And that's exactly what we did. Congratulations to management. You successfully turned customers who came in ready to spend money into customers who will never return. There are plenty of restaurants that understand hospitality. Truly baffled. I rarely write negative reviews but I was in the car, driving to Fortina in Stamford. I called to place a pickup order for a single item (spaghetti and meatballs). After getting someone on the phone, I was told they don't do takeout orders over the phone. I explained that I was in the car, about ten minutes away and wouldn't have a chance to order online. I haven't found a dish here that I didn't like. Showcased on the corner within Harbor Point, it's an easy walking point from anywhere within the community. If traveling by car, there's free parking garages and open lots right next door for easy access. They have a fire oven inside the restaurant, and every pizza comes out super fresh, crispy, and with the best chew. Their menu also changes every so often to include a more seasonal taste. So whether you're in the mood for hot pizza, fresh pasta (have to try the lemon bucatini!), salads, soups, or dessert, this place is for you. There's plenty of seating inside, the wait times are very reasonable, and the staff are always friendly. A must try at Harbor Point. read more

Fortina used to be one of my favorite spots. I always looked forward to my meal--especially the lemon bucatini, which was hands-down my favorite dish on the menu. Unfortunately, things have changed, and not for the better. The lemon bucatini now tastes completely different--the recipe seems to have changed drastically, and not in a good way. I also used to love the baked ziti, but the version I had tonight was nothing like what I remembered. Even the pizzas, which were once a standout, felt off--less flavor, less care, less of that wood-fired magic that used to set them apart. I've since heard that there's a new chef, which would explain the noticeable shift in quality. It's a real shame because this place used to be excellent, and now it just doesn't feel the same. Fortina has always been a favorite of mine in Stamford for larger group dinners. The food is always delicious and is fairly priced for the area. We started with a fried calamari and burrata toast for the table. The calamari was delicious as it was a great mix of rings and the little mini octopus. The burrata toast was my favorite although it should be a larger portion for the price and really is not ideal to share with even two people. It is the perfect sweet and salty balance. The fig compliments the burrata perfectly and the right amount of crunch and salty comes from the toast. The lemon bucatini pasta is a must try. So glad it is finally back on the menu as it was gone for a good portion of Covid. Their white sangria has more of a mimosa taste to it but is very sweet and savory! Service is generally helpful and efficient. For some reason they don't write down your order and memorize most of it. Which is extremely impressive. The place was filthy. I washed the table off with a wet cloth and it was totally black. I showed the waitress and she took the cloth to the Bartender. The floor was also filthy. The food was cold and dry. Service was slow and there was only one other table. This view was what we saw for the first 15 minutes of sitting down at this rooftop. First, the fact that a place with $20 cocktails and $14 wine is putting drinks in plastic cups is a red flag. Second, I ordered a martini and the bartender refused to make it with olives because "the olives are at the downstairs bar and it's very far". I have been here for countless happy hours, brunches, and dinners and have never been dissappointed like this. Usually this place has the friendliest service and it's at the very least decent service. However, today we simply had to wait at an empty table, without water on an 85 degree day, no menus, and no utensils. This is unacceptable for a place where I would have (and usually do) spend $75+ per person for dinner. Sick of restaurants in the Harbor Point thinking they can earn business due to the location and lack of competition with a standard (nothing special) menu and subpar service. If I were the waiter I would have introduced myself, provided water, utensils, and menus upon being seated. Then I would've been back within 5 minutes to get in a drink order (we waited way too long). Suffice to say we had a "Mexicue-adjacent" experience at this establishment that I did not expect. We left without ordering anything or eating because the staff at Fortina did nothing to make us feel welcomed, appreciated, or serviced as customers and I'm deeply disappointed that the staff at Fortina think anything that happened tonight was remotely acceptable. read more

Service is alright depending on who is working. Some are amazing and some are meh. Deysha (I hope I'm spelling your name right) is a great bartender, and so is jack. One afternoon I was here for happy hour with my aunt and she handed the bartender a $100 bill for our check that was $15 and asked if we wanted any change... maybe he didn't realize it was a whole 100, and it was a newer guy who I've only seen a few times, but that rubbed me the wrong way. This location is definitely better than the rye brook location and the Yonkers one that I'm pretty sure is closed now. As far as traditional food, it's giving like Italian fusion if that's even a thing. But everything I've had always tastes good, never been dissatisfied with drinks or food. I think they have some strong staff that are very professional, and then others that are kind of still learning or might lack awareness. My first Fortina-Stamford experience . . . A weekday lunch with a friend, and staff were cheerful -- clearly happy in their work and clearly glad to have us as customers. I had lemonade -- which was superb, comparable to Hellenic's famous lemonade way out in Greenport, Long Island -- and the Classic Margherita pizza, also superb, perfectly charred crust, and just the right mix of fresh basil and fresh mozzarella. My friend had the 'Original Famous Ray's' and we traded slices; the Ray's pie had fragrant oregano skewing the flavor to a nice tang. Decor is smart, with emphasis on function; the space is clean, and acoustically efficient to ensure a pleasantly lively noise level. Judging by some of the other reviews, Fortina-Stamford is better experienced daytime rather than night, when staff are fresh and customers not crazy after a day at the corporate rat-race. It was light and tasty! After dinner outside, we headed up to the rooftop. They had tons of fun drinks but we just got cans before heading to our next stop. They were very accommodating the entire time and responded quickly to all questions and requests that I had. We were visiting ct for a few days , a little staycation since we can't travel anywhere else at the moment and decided to step out on the town Friday night and check it out , we headed down to harbor point and walked around , we didn't have reservations so we knew we were taking a chance but we asked if they could seat us for dinner and we got lucky ! We sat outdoors , good social distancing, our waitress was awesome , really sweet and helpful , we did some wine tasting because we couldn't choose and finally went with the draft rosé . Delicious food! Came to visit for the weekend and stopped in here for some comfort food. And it did not disappoint. The meatballs were perfection!!!!! Juicy, well seasoned, nice crisp and filling! The baked ziti was also amazing. You will not be disappointed. We sat outside and enjoyed drinks and the food and did some people watching. The weather was perfect all while social distancing. Saturday night, October 19th a group of six friends went to Fortina Stamford to celebrate a friend's birthday dinner. We had drinks at the bar before being seated for dinner. I am a 70 year old male who uses a cane, as we were walking to our table, the tall maitre d' with a beard walked beside me and offered his arm for support. It was such a kind and considerate gesture, and it made me feel truly cared for. It's rare to come across such thoughtfulness, and it left a lasting impression on me. Fortina Stamford has created such a warm and welcoming environment. It made our celebration all the more special, and I will always remember this kind act. After doing a pedal cruise in Harbor Point, we walked over to Fortina for lunch. We decided to dine on the rooftop, also known as the Fortina Yacht Club. It was a beautiful day, and the chill vibe and view were really nice. The yacht club had a separate menu from downstairs, but we were glad that we were still able to order from the kitchen menu if we wanted to. Since it was our first time, we definitely had to try one of their pizzas and an order of wings, which was brought up takeout style. It worked for the pizza (which had perfectly crispy pepperoni by the way!), but the wings unfortunately seemed like they had been sitting in the takeout container for a while, so they weren't at their peak. Everything else was delicious - the grilled cheese, burger, and french onion dip were great casual foods for hanging out on the rooftop. Everything came out quickly, and the staff was nice. I definitely would be curious to explore more options on the kitchen's menu next time, because I saw some pretty good looking options! read more

I recently stopped by Fortina with some family and we had an incredible time and enjoyed delicious Italian food! We made a reservation for 8PM on a Friday night and were immediately sat at a table outside. It was a beautiful night and the tables were spaced out nicely, so I felt very comfortable. The staff was also extremely attentive and friendly! To start off, we put in our order for some drinks so we could kick off the evening right! I chose the Pure Mexican Snow (tequila, coco lopez, triple sec, lime) and it was the perfect choice for me. Very reminiscent of a Pina Colada on the rocks! Sweet, refreshing, slightly strong and delicious! For our appetizers we went with the Fried Mozz Stix and Caesar Salad to share. The Fried Mozz Stix came out pipping hot, covered in Parmesan w/ a side of warm Marinara sauce. They were absolutely delicious and had an excellent cheese pull. The Caesar Salad was also very cheesy with a mountain of grated Parmesan right on top! It had the perfect amount of creamy dressing and a flavorful crunch from the croutons. The perfect starters to our meals! Moving onto the main entrees, I went with the Classic Margherita Pizza. It had a nice thin crust, rustic Marinara sauce and tons of melted mozzarella & basil. Even though the crust had a slightly bitter taste to it, personally, I still enjoyed it! My sister went with the Wood-Fired Baked Ziti and it was amazing! Highly recommend ordering this pasta dish because it was extremely flavorful and came with the perfect amount of cheese! My cousin ordered the Bucatini and Clams (lemon, parsley, bianco sardo) and she stated that she enjoyed her pasta since she is a seafood lover! Finally, we decided to end the night with desserts to share and ordered the Birthday Cake Truffle & Spumoni (chocolate shell, strawberry, pistachio, chocolate ice cream, cherry & almond center). The Spumoni was such a fun sweet treat! I definitely recommend it to any ice-cream lovers. The Birthday Cake Truffle was like an upgraded Funfetti Cake Pop with vanilla ice cream. It was absolutely delicious and I was sad that I got too full before I could completely finish it, haha! Overall, Fortina is an excellent spot if you're looking for a chill place to enjoy delicious Italian food, great drinks and catch up with some friends or family!
