Fortis College was the worst college experience I have ever had. I would not recommend this school to anyone without doing serious research first. After paying in full, unexpected charges appeared on my account. There were days students showed up and there was no instructor available to teach. Books were not provided in a timely manner, which made it difficult for students to stay on track. The building also had serious concerns, including what appeared to be mold. In my opinion, the leadership and administration were unprofessional, disorganized, and failed to provide the quality education students paid for. Overall, I felt the school lacked structure, accountability, and professionalism. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I strongly encourage anyone considering Fortis College to do their due diligence before enrolling. read more

I would not recommend this school due to my experience with the campus president. His focus seems to be on maintaining high Google reviews rather than supporting students. There is a pattern of poor communication, lack of accountability, and broken promises. I was told I had a work study position, but later found out through staff that the program had been eliminated, with no direct communication to me. I was still being led on as if I would be starting soon. A former work study student also told me they were pressured to break their contract. Students, including those on Honor Roll and Dean's List, have been threatened for interacting with staff who genuinely care about their well being. Multiple staff members have left, and despite complaints, nothing has been addressed. I originally left a 5 star review because we were constantly pushed to leave reviews daily. That said, many staff members are great. The dean is supportive, Ms. Karen in HVAC career services truly cares, financial aid is helpful, and the HVAC instructors bring real world experience. The school has potential, but leadership needs serious improvement. I enjoyed it at first, but the environment changed. read more

I have had a wonderful experience as a student at Fortis College! I enrolled in the massage therapy program and was welcomed warmly. Both my teachers Amanda and Kayla have been extremely supportive and helped me in so many ways I can't count them. I would recommend applying for this College if you are considering it, they will help you in your journey! Fortis College has been a wonderful experience for me! This school is filled with so many amazing teachers and staff members. It wasn't easy but it's well worth it in the end you must study and utilize your peers we are all here to get the same degree or certificate of choice so let's do it together and get the mission accomplished was the goal of my peers and by doing so we have been successful thus far. Well my over all experience was extremely poor. the school is physically falling apart mold stains in the celling tiles throughout the entire school. janitor works hard and keeps common areas clean. can't speak for all teachers but one of mine was extremely sexist and biases towards men. Very unprofessional she shares students personal information without even asking. The school in whole is not organized well, mostly because it's 97% new staff from with in the last year or so. I have submitted my complaint to the president as well as the nursing director and have not heard back after months of the report. read more

Amazing campus integrated into the Ukrops Bakery, with people who legit want to get you enrolled and possibly off to a better future; I studied massage therapy and my it was amazing and hard but my teachers showed me a side I've never seen they were right there with me, they stayed back with me, they texted back promptly when I had questions after school, most of all Candace Merrick made me feel like I belonged, like that greatness i know I could be its like she saw it the entire time and she nurtured it and now I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and CPR certified with a few more certifications on the way. They prepared me for my field and beyond its a great shame you won't get to meet Tracey lol she was a handful for a teacher but great at what she did and had a pure heart and intentions and you never forget your first lol but Miss Shawna she is the sweetest and mist easy going person and she will prepare you for the instructors that come after she is literally like a ray of sunshine _SMS ​​ read more

My experience with the school has been very positive. I read some not so good reviews but like everything, there are two sides to a story. This school and the program I am in is a smaller program so the classes are smaller, but it allows for more one on one and better instruction. The instructors in my program truly care about the students and are in close contact with us to be sure we are doing okay. Tutoring is available for students that are struggling (Ive used it a few times). The main thing is that you need to come to class and do the work or you will get behind because some classes move fast. But if you are having problems talking with the instructors will help because then they know how to help you or can point you in the right direction. Overall the school is a good choice and I don't regret choosing it. read more

Fortis college is a great place to get an education, especially for a non traditional school. They work with your schedule as much as possible, and have placement assistance at the end. They have multiple programs from associates in nursing to HVAC. The faculty and staff really cares about the individual student and works to make them successful in their chosen field. I think it is an asset to the community since it gives people the means to gain a career in areas where skilled workforce is lacking. The school is accredited, and several programs like surgical technology have second, programmatic accreditation that shows the programs are following national standards for curriculum and labs. There are several programs that also have a clinical component, meaning you will work directly in the job your being trained to do. Overall, a great value. Love it read more

First off if I could I would give them zero stars, this school is not anywhere you should think of wasting your money. In an academic stand they might not suck, the real problem is with their financial aid. All they care about is bringing you in befriending you and calling you even before choosing a school making you think they actually care. Don't be fooled all they want is your money especially when it comes to vets, they have a special person dealing with their financial aid. They honestly care for your money, because they don't tell you when you need to do the paper work again which leaves vets without money for the month, and I'm talking about that money the VA gives you for monthly income while attending school. So please find a different school that actually is worth going to because this one definitely isn't. read more

Great school, really cares about the students and their future jobs/careers.

I currently attend this school and wow do I regret it. It's an absolute scam. Each class lasts 6 weeks. I can't speak for the other programs, but in the HVAC program, it's IMPOSSIBLE to properly learn this material in only 6 weeks. Especially when just about every teacher is incompetent and useless in a classroom setting. They charge an absurd amount of money and rush you through the program as quickly as possible while teaching you the bare minimum. Save your money and go to literally any other school. read more

I give it two stars because they lie to get you into the school. A lot of us in the class asked if the nursing program was accredited prior to admission and we were told "yes". About a month into the RN associates degree program, we found out they were "working on it". We were really upset because we were lied to. The instructors told us. "Well we are accredited, the school is accredited NATIONALLY!!!!" the school may have been accredited, BUT the nursing program WAS NOT!!!! the school did not receive their accreditation as they had expected before we graduated so therefore, we graduated from a non accredited school. Do your homework! Do not let these people scam you just so they can make their quota. We are limited to certain jobs and few facilities will even recognize or acknowledge our education due to the school not being accredited. I have applied to several jobs that turned me away due to this accreditation, with the government VA being one. They ask you on the application if your school was accredited prior to your completion and you have to say "no" which automatically disqualifies you for the job. I thought I could get around this by going back to a four year college for a bridge program to obtain my B.S but well known colleges will NOT accept Fortis college credits and I was told by a local college that I would have to start from scratch and complete four years as if I did not have a degree already!! This was upsetting and frustrating. I am speaking up so this does not happen to anyone else. If you feel you won't be going back to college after obtaining your associates degree and youre willing to work in nursing homes, doctors offices or rehab centers for the rest of your career, then Fortis is the way to go. Hospitals will hire you contingent that you are completing your BSN within 5 years of employment. You have been informed. Do what's right for you. read more

Have a friend going through Nursing program. She has nothing but great things to say about this program and her instructors. I have been to the school a couple of times to talk to admissions and it is a very friendly place. I hope to start soon. read more
