Jon Lew is one of my favorite tattoo artists in the area. He is extremely quick, no nonsense and does beautiful work. I actually find his touch with the needle to be light in comparison to others and he always takes the appropriate measures to make sure you are comfortable. He didn't charge me for a touch-up on a piece he originally did for me 5 or 6 years ago because he's just that awesome. The shop is a bit cluttered but otherwise clean and the chair he tattoos in is very comfortable. Cute artwork on the walls if you like your art a bit sexy (which I do). read more

Depends on what you want, Jon will knock it out of da park for you. Jon did my Polynesian sleeve and everyone notices. Lines are clean sharp. Not too happy so far. bought a groupon for three hours of work which stressed that I needed to call and make an appointment for a consult. So I did. On the day of the consult, the person I made the appointment with didn't even bother to show up, but another artist was there, he checked out what I wanted done, and said he doesn't normally do groupon work, and asked me my availability, then said he had an appointment during that time but either him or the other guy would call me on that day to set it up. How is the other guy going to do my work if he hasn't even discussed it with me? Really unprofessional. Maybe they will surprise me and be the best, but for right now, really unhappy with the business practices. read more

WORST TATTOO EVER. It's a 7 letter word about an inch and 1/4 long on my finger. I have many many tattoos but this is the only one that I hate and will need some serious fixing. It's beyond crooked, bled everywhere and half of it peeled off because he didn't go deep enough. Jon said "what do you expect? It's on your finger?" Don't get a tattoo as a memento in a new city without doing research. read more

My husband's tattoo was done by a female and she did a wonderful job. My tattoo done by Felix on the other hand looks like a highschooler took a pencil and tried to carve an initial in my arm super disappointed by this tattoo. I text several times back-and-forth with the tattoo artist to get it filled in or re-done he responded once and never responded again. I stopped in the shop and talked to another person there and they tried to tell me that that's just how white ink works. Was extremely rude and not accommodating. Super frustrating because I have another white tattoo that looks nothing like the chicken scratch tattoo Felix did.Bummer. I guess I get to pay another $60 to get a new tattoo done of my old tattoo at a different shop. read more

Do not get anything pierced here if you are allergic to nickel. I got my belly button pierced and the whole time I was there, no one bothered to tell me that the jewelry contained nickel. After about a week, I thought it was infected because it was extremely painful, swollen, and red. I kept cleaning it as usual and after 2 months it hadn't gotten any better. I finally went back to them and they asked if I was allergic to nickel (which I am) because the jewelry contains nickel. To top it off, the guy told me I had to go to a different tattoo place to get a new belly ring. Absolutely appalling. I cannot believe that they would only carry jewelry that has nickel when nickel allergies are extremely common, not to mention that they didn't even tell me about their jewelry. read more

My older sister was in town on a visit and we decided to get tattoos. We googled tattoo parlors in Denver and we happened to be down the street from Fortune Cookie. We walked in just to check it out, and it ended up being our favorite tattoo parlor we've been to (I have three tattoos, she has eight). The artists were extremely welcoming and friendly. Dan did my sister's, and he put so much effort into her little tattoo and it looks amazing. Amanda did mine, she was talkative, polite, relaxed, and the tattoo looks awesome. A couple friends and I decided we wanted last minute tattoos to bond out friendship before they left town. I frantically called around to find a place that would take us and fortune cookie tattoo said they could. Great! My friend had sketched a few drawings for us but I clarified over the phone they we'd want some help designing the tattoos...of course was the response. When we arrived and the guy I talked to was sitting there ready for us. We showed him our ideas and he was ok with them, I personally asked if mine could be a bit smaller than the drawing (they were stick figures!) and he said it would be hard to get the detail in a small space...again! They are stick figures! Both friends went first and after seeing their tattoos I became more and more uncomfortable with this guy tattooing me... My turn! I asked for grey ink because that's what I wanted, he said I shouldn't do that. I get why, I really do, but I'm a discreet tattoo kind if person, I wanted something small and quiet. I got a giant ass black outline tattoo because he didn't want to get me what I wanted. He wanted to give me what was 'the best'. I also asked for one of the figures to be taller and he said "you know I was just following what you brought in" asshole! I told you we wanted help designing the tattoos... I went forward although so uncomfortable with it because both friends already had theirs... I'm left with a giant tattoo I hate, not because of the meaning but because of the actual tattoo and the artist, he left such a bad taste in my mouth. I think his name us Jon, an Asian guy. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone...anyone! I'm already saving to have this piece of shit removed from my body and its only been 4 days, I haven't 'shown the tattoo off' to anyone. read more
