Had a tough first tattoo experience here. The staff was friendly, the place is clean and nice, but my tattoo did not come out as great as it could. I got a two word phrase, "Let God" the process of choosing where I want it and how went perfectly, but once he was done and I looked in the mirror the letters were a bit wonky and uneven. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was my first tattoo experience so I was a bit nervous to speak up about my doubts, but I asked another artist if he noticed what I did. He agreed with me and said he'll tell the artist to fix it for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My artist, Matt, came over and proceeded to fix it as best he could. He was a bit sassy with me... I asked if he noticed the L in "Let" he said "what about it". I then told him i think making the bottom of the "L" line a bit thicker would maybe fix it. I asked him if he thinks so and he replied with "I don't know, we'll see"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. His attitude and demeanor towards me after I spoke up about my tattoo just wasn't great. Overall, I am glad I got my tattoo, I do like it, but the experience and outcome of it could have been much better. read more

I came in on 10/10/24 and got what I can honestly say has turned out to be the worst piercing of my life. I initially noticed a day or two later that the placement was a little strange and seemed to be closer to the edge of my ear than I expected but I chalked it up to swelling and jewelry that was too large for the placement. As time went on, I could tell that the placement was definitely off so I went to another shop to see if I should take the piercing out immediately or see if it heals. I was told that the placement was not good, but I could give it some time to see if I am able to heal it so that's what I did. About a month after the initial piercing, when I was cleaning it, I noticed I could see what looked like the bar for my jewelry through my ear (see attached photo). I initially intended to leave it in and wait to come back when this shop opened, but it was so close to coming out of my skin that I decided later that day to just take it out so that it could heal and I could get it re-pierced at a different shop with a piercer that I know I can trust. When I took the jewelry out the remaining edge of my skin came with it, leaving a chunk missing out of my tragus (see attached photo). I emailed the shop explaining what had happened and requesting a refund, but was told that I should have come in sooner and I would not get any sort of refund. Save your money and skin and stay far away from this place. As stated in several of my emails, the jewelry was changed to titanium and a reputable piercer disagreed with your statement regarding placement, telling me that it was not correct. Not wanting to waste my money, I gave it a chance to heal anyways which I can see now was a mistake - hope this helps clarify :) BTW for anyone looking for piercings I would highly recommend Certified Tattoo on Colfax! I've had great experiences with both piercings and tattoos here and regret not going to them for this as well. read more

I have been looking and waiting to get an Autism Acceptance tattoo. After I had a friend of mine (who lives on the east coast design a few designs tattoos, and I set up a consultation with Nina. She is absolutely amazing. She took the designs and "mashed" them together into exactly what I was looking for. I have several more tattoos that I will be going to Nina to design and tattoo on me. Unfortunately I can not rave about Tribe. My artist (Nina) was seemingly not having a good day and it reflected in her demeanor with me and her work on my tattoo. I was getting a 3 word tattoo in Courier. I questioned the letter spacing and the size of the font as well as the boldness of one word vs the others and she coudn't see what I saw and refused the make the letters smaller, which suprised me as I have seen tats much finer. She was grumpy, never smiled, and offered zero support. When I asked her to redo the stencil she just reapplied the original one, which looked exactly the same. My instinct immediately was walk away, no one wants a grumpy tattooist. And my fault entirely for not having the strength to follow my gut, and leave. I will be having it removed sadly, to great expense. My daughter, though, had a wonderful experience with her artist and a lovely tattoo. read more

This has been my one and only tattoo shop in Denver since I moved here! Elvis (@deliverytattoo) is the absolute best. I'm pretty sure I discovered him on Instagram and emailed Tribe Tattoo immediately. The staff here is so responsive, both over phone and email. They're on top of confirmations, questions, and payments. And they take great care of the artists. The shop itself is pretty big and spread out. Street parking can be a pain, but there's a paid lot nearby if needed. Not that I've gone exploring around Tribe, but I can tell that they have nice facilities for artists, staff, and clients. I love that they recently started a donation-based coffee service and always offer lollipops to keep up that blood sugar. These are great for my long 6-hour appointments. If you look up Elvis and book with him, mention me! He's such a wonderful human being and a perfectionist. Just the sweetest and most talented. I love sending newbies to him too, because Elvis has this laidback and reassuring manner that puts even the most uptight clients, i.e. my friend, at ease. Probably my favorite tattoo experience I've had so far. Maia was incredible! Super fun to talk to for my whole 4 hour session, made sure I was super comfortable, and of course her art is amazing. The location is great with tons of space and cool things to look at while you're getting tattooed. I'm sorry, I completely forget his name, but I was there for the new front desk person's first day, and everyone was so nice and helpful to both him and I while we set me up as a new client. Overall, my experience was just ok. When you leave a 27% tip to an artist you would think they would be receptive to the details you want fixed during the complemetary touch up. Sorry if I offended you Genevieve with my feelings on how some of the line work turned out but I was not happy that my flower petal looked like it had toes... The anatomy of the flower was not consistent with the original photo I provided. I kindly ask her to "enhance the anatomy" by correcting the line work that didn't reflect in the original photo. She tired to tell me that's how flowers look and was unreceptive. What was so disappointing was how she made me feel. Very different from the first sitting with her she went from hot to cold and made me feel that I was not worth her time. I asked her to add in white to the tips of the stamen near the pistil in the center to create the pollen bulbs that was missing from the original photo and help correct the darkness. She ignored me and added white randomly in-between instead. I was really disappointed leaving the shop the second time, I felt I over paid for average work and was disappointed in the work that was produced. read more

How does this make any sense. I come in and get $1500 worth of tattoo work at a time and I'm not asked to pay for it up front.... But I have to pay for the $5 redbull upfront because what? I'm gonna run off with a redbull? Are you kidding me? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then the kid feeels the need to tell me to "stop acting like a whining bitch"????? Are you for real? He literally said that to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am a paying customer and have spent more money here then this kids yearly salary. I'm not sure I'll come again once this work is done despite my artist being very good. I don't tolerate this kind of crap service anywhere. I don't give two shits about a $5 redbull. I don't need this kids mouth after the money I have spent. The music they regularly play is also extremely offensive. I don't want to listen to gangsta rap while being tattooed that is filled with nothing but the N word over and over again. Play whatever you want and I get it's a tattoo shop but something that just says N***** over and over again is not ok. The owners should be ashamed and this little punk jake needs to be retrained if not fired. Elvis is THE BEST. He has a wonderful eye for design and is so fun to work with. He will make you feel super welcome in his space and check in on you throughout your appointment. He'll make you laugh and he's an incredibly gentle tattoo artist. You'll want to go out for a coffee with him after, or a tequila The shop itself is wonderfully clean and perfectly styled. The camaraderie between the artists is fun to be around and they love looking at each other's art! Once my tattoo was done everyone wanted to see, which is wonderful for one's confidence. The price is totally fair for a tattoo of this size. Some people may feel it is a bit high but if you're putting something on your body permanently and asking someone to take the time to design for you: it's worth every penny and more. This shop has a WONDERFUL response time. The people working the front desk are fantastic. Before coming here I tried 5 different parlors that all had horrible customer service. This shop knows it's stuff, has been here for years, and will take care of you. I got a piercing on my forward helix a week before this tattoo and it is healing very nicely. DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE. I honestly never write reviews but I am so disappointed with this business. First off I just want to say I've had many piercings in my lifetime and I know how to take care of them and how they should heal when pierced properly. ANYWAY I have now had TWO piercings done incorrectly here. The first was my Medusa piercing which was pierced at such a bad angle you could see it on the inside of my mouth when I would talk...I had to go back and get the jewelry changed twice hoping it would fix the problem and it never did so I had to take it out. They almost didn't reimburse me but the owner told them to which I did appreciate. I then decided to give this place another shot since they gave me my money back and I felt like maybe it was just a rookie mistake. BAD IDEA. I got a double cartilage piercing a few months ago from a different piercer even, and it's been nothing but problems. It literally was gushing blood for 3 days straight after I got it done until I got it to clot and ever since then it's been incredibly painful and uncomfortable. It literally looks like it was pierced wrong and it seems to be getting more and more irritated as time goes on despite me taking the best possible care of it. Now there are ugly keloids forming and I'm just so bummed!! read more

Called this afternoon to see about two walk in tattoos. Was told no problem and to head in. We arrived at about 1:37 and checked in. I needed time to decide what I wanted, so they said they would send someone over to talk with me shortly. My partner's artist came over and got right to it. Started talking through it with him and working out the design. I was excited to have the same conversation, so I went back up to the desk to let them know I knew what I wanted. There were two girls at the front desk drawing. One of them asked what I was thinking, and I explained what I wanted. She told me that a few artists were finishing up and she'd send someone over in about 20 minutes or so. Not a word since. I sat on the couch while my partner's work was being done. Looking over at the front desk, watching the employees talk and laugh with one another, I decided I was no longer interested in doing their job for them. I basically walked in, was immediately disregarded, and that was that. Not even an acknowledgment when we went up to pay for the one tattoo that did get done. We left close to 4. Eventually, I'll get the piece I want, but it will be from a shop that's actually interested in conducting business, not just hosting Sunday social hour at the expense of potential customers. read more

Tribe is a total vibe. I'm way too old to use that word but it is. Such a cool spot. I called and made an appointment with Erik for my husband and ended up doing a walk in for myself with Nina. The studio is immaculate. Lots of artists with different styles. I was happy they had some different, more private areas for tattoos and piercing because my ribcage tattoo required me to be half topless. Seemed like they generally have lots of walk in availability (which is actually more rare then I imagined based on researching other shops). I felt like the cost was reasonable if not more than reasonable. The artists I interacted with all seemed friendly and overall it was a great experience. I went here for my very first tattoo. I researched MANY Denver artists who do good greyscale work and thin line work. I originally wanted a small cross with flowers on my wrist but I was open to other options. I was a little intimidated because it was my first. I met up with Elvis for a consultation. The nicest guy ever. Seriously. He opened my mind to bigger ideas and sketched on his iPad different ideas and we threw around ideas and tweaks. He talked me into a over four inch piece and was like it will be beautiful and you will love it. He made me feel comfortable. I got it sized later on and he talked with me through it. I came into town for a conference and as a part of my own healing journey and was given the chance to come in as a walk-in customer and fulfill an over year-long wish to add to an existing tattoo and cover-up another one. First and foremost their shop has the best vibe, clean, and absolutely awesome to be in. Second their friendly customer service made me feel welcome instantly. Lastly, their artists are so extremely talented. On the first night I received a small verse tattoo from Zach. Zach was upfront with me about a cover up tattoo that I was seeking for a tattoo that had scarring and very bad memories each time I looked at it. I was booked the next day with Bruce who they said would be able to completel my request. The next day I met with Bryce, who is by far the most awesome person I have met. He was able to quickly come up with a concept that would address the cover up need and compliment existing tattoo. He drew it up and completed it all in time for me to return to conference. TRIBE TATTOO WILL RIP YOU OFF IF GIVEN THE CHANCE BEWARE. I have credit card receipts dating back FOR YEARS. $600 for line work and then $150 an hour for color work. The moment I get extra money to pay upfront John decides to take the FULL $2575 and says "it was a flat rate". I literally sat down in his chair for 3 hours total. He did a $900 tattoo and won't give back the remaining $1675. FOR YEARS I HAVE BEEN WITH THESE GUYS AND THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT YOU! I am challenging my credit card. GOOD LUCK! read more

From start to finish, this place is top notch! Last week I brought my son in for a consultation. The receptionist was so friendly, asked some questions and got us directly with the artist of our choice quickly. We met with Tanner whom was thoughtful, and said he could deliver the desired design in a week. My son is 16, so I was nervous, but Tanner did an amazing job! His rates are reasonable, his communication clear and concise, and his easy mannerism put a mom at ease when letting her boy get his first tat! BRYCE IS NOT A HUSTLER NOR CARES ABOUT A CUSTOMERS TIME. I called to make an appointment with Bryce about a cover-up that I wanted. His next available appointment was a week out so I proceeded to make that appointment. We asked over the phone if I could send him pictures ahead of time by email and the man that I spoke with was like "no that's no need you will go over that in your appointment with Bryce." When I arrived Bryce looked at my tattoo and I told him an idea of what I wanted and he basically said that I would need to send it all through email for him to mock up. He didn't give me any type of feedback on what I should get or any ideas and the appt was so rushed. I couldn't believe I made an appt for him to tell me to email him. LOL I would've done that in the first place like I had asked over the phone to expedite the process. As well I communicated to them that this is pretty urgent and I am looking to get it done in one week. I then proceeded to send him an email with the details of what I wanted and he proceeded to not reply for days and then someone else from the tattoo shop emailed back saying that this tattoo is not something that Bryce can do. Why didn't he just say that in the first place when I showed up at the actual shop for my appointment or even have the courtesy to email me back himself letting me know?! It's just a complete waste of time and honestly just bad service. I don't know if it's a Colorado thing but the artists out here suck and by SUCK I mean their service levels are bad, the process is a waste of time and getting any type of feedback over the phone sucks. I communicated with him online, to work out a design that was specific to what I wanted as well as complimentary of his artistry. I have multiple piercings and have never laid down for a cartilage piercing. There is not a great selection for earrings either.
