Regardless, I decided to take the slot and boy the Ritz London did not disappoint! My friend and I checked in at the Ritz Club Entrance as we were told later on that the original location was undergoing renovations and that the new home for Tea Time would be at the ballroom, a previously private casino where the likes of President Bush Senior and other VIP guests often frequented - so exclusive!!! We walked down two flights of stairs and were greeted for coat check. We then walked past the Amber Room, which was a very very ornate parlor room and then towards the ballroom... my jaw dropped! The walls were covered in such exquisite and lavish gold details, and the high ceilings had such beautiful intricate paintings. There was a three piece orchestra playing beautiful classical musical as well as Disney favorites. This ballroom was so extravagant and luxurious that I really felt as if I was a part of high society! Unlike most teas that I've attend the live entertainment was the focal point of this experience. Yes, patrons did converse among themselves; however, I felt that we were all enjoying a mini concert with tea and biscuits, which I imagine is how afternoon tea was experienced in the past. The service was prompt and exceptional as expected and I loved the wide array of tea selection. The food was standard, but the live music and atmosphere makes this once in a life-time experience well worth the trip out to the UK for me. I believe our server stated that this location would be held here until March 2023, so if you want to step foot into one of the most exclusive clubs in the world now's your chance! FYI: Dress code is extremely strict. All men must wear a jacket and tie, and jeans/sportswear and shorts are not allowed.

The food and tea were very high quality and fresh. So much so fresh, that the scones were delayed [only issue; they did arrive warm and with a generous amount of clotted cream]. Waiters checked in, in a timely manner. Also, was very kind and amazing, serving tea/food, and offering to take photos. It definitely lived up to the high expectations (traditional, mannerisms, and just old-school British) I had for my first visit to the Ritz.

We arrived at 7.30 ish for dinner at 8, but did not really start eating until 10pm. The food however, was highly commended. Bread came with olive oil/balsamic vinegar and it was nice and warm. Calamari starter was huge!!!! That's a normal 3 portion calamari on one plate for one person. Medium rare rump steak was nicely cooked and decent, although of course you can't compare it to other better cut steaks. I saw my friend ordered a shrimp salad and it was also huge. Most of us could not finish our mains. Desserts were gorgeous, I would recommend the apple tart. Unfortunately when the desserts came out none of them had ice cream on it (as per advertised) nor caramel sauce over the salted caramel chocolate tart. They had run out of caramel and so gave us chocolate sauce. We also had to ask them for the custard which was supposed to come with the sticky toffee pudding. 3 of our party members left early and we asked the waitress to bring out their desserts anyway! They brought out 1, and we had to ask her for the other one (when she claimed before she brought all of them out already!) before she "found" another one in the kitchen. Apparently the third asked for a fruit platter which was then cancelled. I don't know guys, I swear we've been cheated one full dessert! The manager Ian was really nice, explained to us what was happening, and also gave us 3 complimentary champagne. We had one left over and I think we left it there, no matter, it was the thought that counts. Drinks were not too expensive at the bar, about £4 per cocktail/shot. We were also given £5 voucher to use at roulette tables and £5 for the slot machines. We had private tuition for maybe 30 minutes at roulette and black jack. A few people won their meal back, or £5, or lost money, but all in all, it was a good night out. Food is super commended here. Also, when I was playing roulette, and a cardboard sign fell forward and bopped me on the head (it was light as a feather, completely pain/anxiety-free and simply an amusing comedy cartoon moment!), the casino offered us both drinks on the house to make up for it! I dread to think how lovely they would have been if something bad had actually happened! A nice ambience, friendly staff, and a good little place to know is tucked away quite so close to a station (it's right next door to Bayswater - and I mean RIGHT next door). Then they turned up the volume so we could hear the announcers. Food was ok (which in my opinion is quite a compliment for food in London)... But with their outstanding 2-for-1, 3-course dinner deal, it could not be beat! The whole bill may have been 30 pounds for dinner for two. Not bad. We stayed for the entire game and the staff did not seem to mind. Also, there is a crowded casino on the main floor with slots and table games.

It's one of those places where you immediately know it would be even more fun later at night, so I already know I'll have to come back on a future trip . . . preferably without teenagers. Some bars put props or make fire and it's whatever. But the theatrics here are legit. They'll cut the ice in a certain way for a reason, or dispense via a different mechanism than a straight pour, or will aerate the cocktail before serving, etc. So many detail oriented techniques that make the drink special, entertaining, and tasty! During our visit the musician Colin Andrew played/sang and he was amazing. With notes of Paolo Nutini, he really added to the overall vibe and made the night a hit. All in all I can't speak highly enough about The Bloomsbury Club drinks and vibe and would absolutely return in a second!
