There has been a notable improvement in both of our strength, balance and endurance. Most importantly neither of us has hurt ourselves under the guidance of Mark, Jenn & Tommy. If you want a gym with no coaching this may not be the right place, but if you want coaches who really do their job and protect you from injury and guide you in proper form, etc. then this is the right gym for you. Group lessons are also available at a lower price point if that suits you better. It isn't cheap compared to a basic, run of the mill gym, with zero supervision or guidance, but you get what you pay for. What's the price tag on good health and being able to actively go thru the day doing what you want AND avoiding injuries and the side effects of bad health? I'll bet in the end this is MUCH less expensive!!

It is like personal training, at least I have never seen anyone there, and the owner Mark is ALWAYS there to say hello to. Everyone is so nice there, and they always say "Good Morning Shelby" and I scream it with them once a while and then we all laugh and then it is time to really WORK. They push you to more than you think you can do. You just trust them and go with the flow. They are trying to make you the best you can be. I have timed it so that when I run there I am out front waiting for them. They a maybe a mile away so I run there in maybe idk 5-7 minutes. Combined with yoga (weight of my body work when on the floor), running there and back ane muscular and weight work here, and my running, I am 54 and the best shape of my life (I was in the best shape for many seafront when I was 6 up until I went to college, but that is a whole other story).

The studio is very well kept, the machines are amazing, the trainers are so helpful, knowledgeable & encouraging. The owner of the studio, Kathy, is easy to work with. They even have an app available to schedule sessions. It's an amazing way to get a beneficial strength training work out in a quick 20 minute session, twice a week. The studio trainer went through the various options to choose from - personal one on one coaching, which is excellent (especially starting out) There are also time frames for small group sessions with the trainers available for help. They offer monthly memberships at different levels as well as options to purchase packages for a certain number of sessions. The workout is quite impressive! I would suggest making an appointment to stop by and check them out - once you meet the trainers and try the machines, you will want to go back. The twenty minute strength training experience is so effective & can easily fit into a busy schedule.

When I showed up, I was told to stand in front of a tv that showed a list of exercises and was told I could do the beginner side or the advanced side. The advanced side was just more reps. These exercises included jumping jacks, air jabs and hooks, push-ups, 3 burpees, pike crunches, 1-2-3s, and 3 sit-ups. I was told to do as many rounds as possible in 25 minutes. There was no warm up or cool down. Then, the trainer left to go talk with a woman for the duration of my 25 minute workout. Once I was done he told me I could only come to 3 classes a week...when my Groupon was for unlimited classes. Then, the best part, he said that the workout was the same for a whole week! So for my 6 week Groupon, I'd only get 6 different workouts. Maybe he's a more attentive trainer to those that pay monthly, but from my experience, he was not very good. I could have looked up that workout on Pinterest and did it in my living room. It would have been the same as the workout at this gym since he never said anything to me the entire workout. I've been to many boot camps and this was by far the worst. I would not recommend this gym to anyone except those that have never worked out before. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because it might be a good starting point for someone just getting started in working out.

There is a great atmosphere of encouragement and support. You will make friends and enjoy coming to the gym but won't feel that cult like feeling you hear about at a cross fit gym. The facilities are kept very clean and Josh is always open to new equipment requests and making sure the members have what they need. Give TFW a try and you will definitely be back.

The coaches are so motivational and encouraging, they meet you where you're at and challenge you to put your best effort in. The workouts really get you sweating. Its a mix of treadmills, water rowers, and synergy station (body weight, weights, trx, and terracore station). I never though my heart rate could increase while weight training but I'm in the fat burning zone most of the time. Lastly what makes this gym awesome is the saunas! The personal sauna's promote healing and are super relaxing. You can use it individually or with a friend or two. You can even bluetooth your music to them. Anyway, I am a former athlete and by former I mean I am now a dad of two that found myself stuck in the same routine of running and light lifting. Light lifting of beer and food that is. I needed something new and motivating and found myself on groupon. I didn't want to join a cross fit (not my style) and didn't trust the large group fitness classes at the huge corporate giants (xsport type) just looking to get your money. So I thought I would give this place a try. After all, it was only 200$ to start for 3x a week for the first 2 months. Jump on Groupon now if it still there and if not I promise whatever you pay will be better than a gym membership. Onto my experience so far. The first week I found out just how bad my form was and how much of a difference it makes on your core and body when you do lifts and exercises correctly. It was a motivating atmosphere without the pressure of a competitive environment where you are injuring yourself. All I care about now is my form and my results which is why I knew after day one I have found my go to place. Chris who runs my class adapts to each individual and doesn't let you cheat anything. With my gym membership I would of stopped after a certain set or taken an extra rest. Having the motivation of Chris pushing you makes you push harder. Pro Force has trainers and an owner that care about each individual and their outcomes. I have been in the xsport classes that the instructor spent more time looking in the mirror at his arms rather than my form. Anyway, I am only 3 weeks in but feel great and am improving. The class consist of many different exercises that work too many muscles to name. Some I didn't know existed. Trust me I feel it today :). There are many different options for classes and individuals of all levels. However The best part about this is knowing my dollar is going to a family of a gym that is locally owned. The owner also invests time and energy back into my community. I only wish this place existed when I was an athlete as most of us at my age relied on pure athletic ability. Bonus note is they train numerous professional athletes. Knowing these pro athletes train with pro force means it is definitely good enough for me. If your New Years resolution is to find the best place to start or continue an exercise program…read morethis is THE place in the Tri City area. I have been going here for 3 years - prior to that I worked out on my own, I swam, ran did a little of the old P90X. I wasn't in bad shape - but I wasn't in great shape either. I would work out "hard" for a month then lose interest for a month or two then start it up again. I started at ProForce in my late 40s - when my age was starting to really catch up with me - I was waking up with back aches and was sore after yard work and now - I'm almost 50 now and I am in the best shape I have ever been. There are three reasons to go to ProForce 1) Chris is a fantastic trainer - and he along with his staff - really know what they are doing. I had no idea that I was doing most of the exercises wrong or with very poor form. The way I was doing the exercise really wasn't working the muscle groups in the right way (or worse working the wrong groups) and I was suffering because of it. It's really like working out with a personal trainer every day! They watch your form and when it breaks down they correct it - so you don't hurt yourself. They also get you to think about which muscles should be working for a given exercise to really help you focus. They also really work on flexibility and movement - something I had never even considered. Also they treat you like a professional athlete - and sometimes you are working out next to people that were or are professional athletes - which is really cool. At the beginning focus on form - that's the best advice I can give anyone starting here. 2) Variety. Workouts are varied and we rarely do the same workout twice - over three years. This has kept me mentally engaged and interested. Sometimes you work with weights and sometimes it is body weight and they do a lot of good cardio as well. 3) The competition and people in the classes. I enjoy their company - we laugh, we work (hard) and we motivate each other - sometimes you don't feel like working out hard - everyone has those days - but when you are working out with a group - particularly this group - you will find yourself working harder. It doesn't matter what shape you are in right now - there is someone else at your level - to push you and to work with every day.

Hope this is something that can be addressed as everyone in this community deserves fair opportunities to enjoy these amenities.$19 for an 1hr in the gym is ridiculous.

Where do I start?…read more upon initial tour I was kind of impressed, but I hadn't really looked anywhere else (MY MISTAKE!!) and signed up right away. my very first class I went to was called cardio dance. It was on a Saturday and the instructor was Angela. I could barely keep up with the class. It's like she's dancing to herself in the mirror with tons of jumping, and I don't know why people equate jumping with fitness. You can get a workout quite effectively without jumping around anyway she came up to me at the end of the class and told me because we were the same height that I should "look like her" and I was completely offended... not only is that ignorant. It's completely wrong because somebody's bone structure is not the same as somebody else's . Furthermore he should not be insulting somebody that's a paying member that's trying to better themselves. Then I took a pool fitness class. That's right here has to be the worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. On this particular day, one of the instructors I like didn't happen to come, and Terri showed up. I knew I should have left because I had already had issues with her for some reason she does not like me and doesn't try to hide it. You get the people in the pool that stand in the back row and all they do is talk and you can barely hear the music or what the instructor is saying and nobody says anything to them, but the person that's trying to better themselves that has injuries is being yelled at saying I'm "not working hard enough" or "push it harder"... even though I have injuries so on this particular day, I got screamed at in my face in front of a class of people And I was asked why I'm wasting her time and not working hard enough?!? I have an injury yet TERRI told me to push through that so I did and ended up almost five months on bed rest Another instructor tells you a move and stares off into space for about 5 minutes, then repeat. Super fun! Formats aren't followed correctly. You get classes here that cancel with very short (or no notice at all)! when you find an instructor that you like, they end up leaving or have previous commitments. Needless to say I have canceled my membership. I found somewhere that is less expensive that offers more. This place does not have a hot tub. They do not have tanning and they do not have massage chairs. People are not very friendly here and that's not conducive to feeling comfortable. And I have had at least four people tell me they are not comfortable there because they feel like they're constantly being judged so this cannot only be me that fails this way I can go elsewhere and feel totally accepted. No matter my size no matter my injuries and have every amenity that I want and then some . Yesterday when I tried to cancel well, I'm sure you can imagine I was met with more rudeness which only solidified my decision and I had gone back-and-forth with this for five months and there's no point in wasting my money for something I'm not using and I'm not happy with I would just say look around a little more might find something with instructors that actually care if you succeed. Here you're just another number and they don't really care and I'm not going to miss it. I've already lost a lot more weight going elsewhere and I'm a lot happier.
