If you're visiting for an event, pack folding chairs. There's 3 rows of bleachers on the second floor overlooking the Olympic size pool. While the bleachers span the length of the pool, space can be limited depending on the size of the event you're attending. Behind the bleachers, there's plenty of extra room to set up "camp" with your group. The family next to me sat on the bleachers for Day 1 but after a 5-6hr+ day on the hard bleachers, they opted to bring folding chairs for Day 2's events. There's restrooms on the 2nd floor which is really convenient for spectators. Overflow parking is next door at the Salvation Army.

Lessons are taught in a residential home pool that is very nice. I park on the street and walk through the side yard to the screened in pool where Brian is usually waiting for our lesson. Sometimes we get there early and he is wrapping up a lesson with the previous student in the pool. There is plenty of patio seating so you can relax while your child is learning. He always is very positive and encouraging with your child and I loved the way he taught my son. Within one lesson he had learned what we came there to learn. My son knew how to swim but I wanted him to be a stronger and more capable swimmer so when we go out on our boat and snorkel, we do not have to worry about his abilities. He had my son overcome his fears and by the time we went snorkeling in the keys a few weeks later, my son was jumping off the boat into the water. My son chose to continue with lessons despite learning what he needed to and Brian taught him so much more! It was amazing and I loved going every week. He is great with kids and an amazing swim instructor. Highly recommend this swim school!

One of my favorite playgrounds in Tampa bay…read more This is what you do for a half day on a weekend. We park at the parking lot that is closest to playground. It's the first one you come up upon on your left when you're driving down the street. We put in for three hours of parking which comes out to $7.35. We walk to the playground and while the kids play, I go to the outside bar and grab two skinny margaritas, which are very reasonably priced. Then we go to Doc Ford's or another restaurant close by for a meal. And then depending how crazy the kids are, we may take them back to the playground. This is such a fun place for the kids, half of it is shaded with a canopy and half of it is shaded by trees which means it's hit or miss whether the play equipment is shaded. I highly recommend putting on sunscreen. It is close to a small beach and splash pad also so you can walk amongst the three if it gets really hot. There's an area for younger kids 2 to 5 and the other part is for kids 5 to 12. Bring cardboard because kids like to sit on the cardboard and ride down a tiny hill that's there. Usually though there is cardboard left by other kids, but if you go first thing in the morning, you should be the people that bring the cardboard. It can be pretty crowded. All the kids seem to get along and my kids who are five and seven have an absolute blast year every time. I highly recommend.

The ones in charge are smiley while the teachers know their stuff. On the flip side, most of the building staff appears stuffed with high schoolers earning community hours-- in other words, they look moody and are silent. But everyone else is great. BUILDING During my martial arts classes, the air conditioning in the "big room" is pretty noisy and can make listening to instructors difficult (especially since many classes are composed of elementary kids)... or deafeningly quiet when it decides to stop working. There isn't a real "waiting area" for parents to work/read while waiting for their kids. Constant things to do include a basketball court, playground, mini waterpark (seasonal) Despite these setbacks, there's a charm about this rec center. Adults and kids have a good connection to each other here... and good teens gather here without causing trouble.

It has a well manicured 18 hole golf course, nine more holes (27 total) gym, two pools, tennis courts and all that. It also has a clubhouse which is the focus of my review. First off, this is the ugliest clubhouse I've ever entered. Think Little Rascals He Man Woman Hater's Club if you're that much into club houses. Ugly brown crown molding, ratty carpeting, ugly beige walls and exposed wood ceilings. The lobby looks like a mausoleum too. After the ceremony in a non cool room (idiots turned on the heat by mistake), we were sent into the reception area, which was the south room and adjoining spaces. At least they actually had on the AC in here. Open bar and passed canapés as one would expect. Some of these canapés including bacon wrapped scallops stand out because they were AWFUL!! I almost spit out the spinach pie; I should've known better when I saw them drizzled with heaven knows what. Scallops over cooked and lousy...at least there was an open bar. After two dark rum and colas, I even had enough of that; cheap lo-rent swill. Salad was simple mixed greens with a slice of cuke, some red onion and a couple of CHILLED cherry tomatoes. Well, there was the next sign that the kitchen doesn't know what it's doing. Tomatoes are supposed to be room temperature; period. Dressing stop said salad was nondescript. For entrees the Queen Bee had crab stuffed grouper and I had filet mignon. Filet was bland but had a halfway decent demiglaze with it. Queen Bee didn't care for her grouper. Everyone else at the table seemed more or less okay with it. To be fair, I didn't try the stuff. Both entrees were accompanied by overcooked asparagus and bland rice pilaf. Blech! I'm sure the wedding party paid good money for this stuff. If this is any sign of how their dining rooms are, then kindly include me OUT of this club. I'd rather graze on the grass from the 10th fairway. The desserts you see are provided by an outside bakery so nothing to say here. Not really much worthwhile or positive to say about having a function here, either. Have it at Chuck E. Cheese or a bowling alley instead! Eh!!

This is a very small park on the south east tip of Pinellas right before the Skyway. The park isn't…read morelarge, but the view is tremendous. We were actually at another park when this one was recommended for a sunrise. I cannot wait to get back and witness that. I was here early in the morning and it was extremely peaceful. There is a cute pier with a view of much of the bay. There were a lot of birds and some pelicans hanging around sunbathing. You can see boats, the Skyway, and more. There is a boat ramp, a fishing area, playground, a small grassed area, and a bathroom. It is not the best park for running or getting in steps, but it is a great park for watching nature/ the water and enjoying the stillness. I really enjoyed my visit here and I will be back to catch that gorgeous sunrise that I have heard about.
