This is by the way not very helpful as there is a dearth of reviews for medical professionals it seems. I don't remember exactly why i chose Van Wert Family Physicians, but i called in to the office and asked to become a new patient. I was directed to fill out some paperwork online. I did so. Now there are a number of doctors who work there, i asked to be seen by Dr. Kristen Pollock, who my mother was already using. Super happy i did. She is awesome! Great doc... caring, honest. The visits i had during the pandemic were all virtual, it wasn't until a year later i got to meet and have a full check up with her but it was a crazy 2020. Honestly, i don't think i have had such a good doctor since my pediatrician back before i became an adult. Maybe i am just used to things being different in Miami, Florida where i am originally from. Health care there... sucks. Your a number, nothing more. Even when you are seeing someone who cares, they are incredibly busy and overworked. They only have so much time for you. Dr. Pollock takes time to make sure you are healthy and stay healthy. The staff is wonderful overall. Its never difficult to get a hold of someone to make an appointment nor to talk to the nurse if i have some issue. And talking about times, unlike Miami... you see your doc at your scheduled appointment time.. no waiting hours to see one. It is…read moretherefore ironic that one of the biggest changes we have experienced with moving across the country centered around our health. This is something we continue to deal with because one thing we realized coming here was... that Miami healthcare is absolute garbage and that my new locality has better healthcare. Perfect example of this would have to be in regards to dermatology. For years... YEARS! I suffered not only with acne but with a skin condition in the back of my scalp... including my brother as well. I had it since I was in 9th grade. The condition was painful, sometimes more and sometimes less depending on how bad the episode was. Sometimes the pain would be mild, sometimes it hurt so bad it was awful to lay my head on a pillow, sometimes it just hurt that bad by itself. I went to dermatologist after dermatologist, trying to find a way to fix this. They all gave me different opinions on what it was and different treatments. I cannot describe the amount of different pills, ointments, and shampoos I tried for the condition... they didn't work or didn't work for long. One shyster told me laser surgery would fix it... yeah he couldn't explain how though... i didn't do that one. My brother and I started treating with Dr.Gray in Lima in June of 2020. We were both pretty jaded with all our prior dermatological experiences and expected to keep going thru this for the rest of our lives. For about half the year, we tried different pills and ointments that did not work until he decided that the way to finally fix this problem for good was to take isotretonin. It was a long treatment starting in January 2021 and ending in July...requiring constant check up with him and bloodwork because the medicine is very strong. Dr. Gray even was nice enough once we were starting to stabilize to do e-visits after our working hours as it was hard to constantly take off work. He would tell us to keep the faith that we would get thru this and it would get fixed. You know what though? It worked! IT WORKED! I can't describe what it feels like to be finally free of this problem after years of this. This man is a miracle worker! I pray that it would stick and except for one brief and flare up (i think due to stress), i have been pain free. I am thankful I tried one last time and got treated by Dr. Gray. I always tell everyone I speak to now, if you have a skin issue or need to see a dermatologist... you NEED to see Dr. Gray in Lima.

Had a filling that fell out, the dark hair lady couldn't answer a straight question if her life depended on it. She said she would ask Blanford and call back (she did not call) over a week later while in the office the price went from 400-500 to 817.00. When I asked how long this one would be good for, she said they don't guarantee anything. I said what about 2 weeks, she said well if it was only 2 weeks "of coarse they could fix it". She is Fake nice. When confronted with legitimate concerns she becomes extremely argumentative. When I called and asked for a office manager she put me on hold for more than 8 minutes, I hung up and called back the phone would not ring through for another 10 minutes. Finally got her on the phone again she said they don't have an office manager and refused to communicate my concerns to Blanford. This is the treatment we got after several years of loyalty even after Blanford was unavailable and we went back to him.

He has successfuly cured a large ulcer and is treating Barrett's esophogus (which can lead to cancer), without resorting to adding multiple drugs to my list. The office staff can be abrupt, but stay knowlegable about alternate treatments, like diet and tests for possible causes like bacteria or funguses. I am not sure I like the Lima system for seeing nurse practitioners almost exclusively in the office setting. Those I have seen here are thorough, but have an abrasive personality. Dr. Solomon, however, is a model of care and respect for his patients. Perhaps the other person who reviewed Dr. Solomon would have been better served if he( had been a man and) had asked Dr. Solomon in post-op about what he heard. Even partially under anesthetics, it is hard to discrimnate voices, and colonoscopies require an anesthesetist and supporting assistants. Maybe he would have discovered real problems with his family doctor no matter whose voice he heard. If other physicians think his family doctor is incompetent, he should be sure they are not correct, so he can avoid a real problem with his health later.

She had started to go to a pain management doctor last couple of years because her back pain had finally gotten to the point where it was unbearable for her. She has always suffered from this type of pain, stemming from when she was hit by a motorcycle when she was 18. With everything that has also been going on this year health-wise, she has had significant mobility and pain issues. Because of the pain, her doctor had her come here to receive injections in her back to help her with the pain. She does it every few months or so. It is not a lengthy procedure and it helps her a lot. Glad we have a center so close to home where she can get these procedures done.

I am fairly new to this community and was searching for a chiropractor. I had a bad injury to my…read moreneck a few years ago, have gone through every treatment imaginable and now live with chronic pain. I've gone to chiropractors all of my adult life and am well versed in what I like and what works for me. Good chiropractic care keeps it manageable without much pain meds. In my previous state, I paid one price and had everything adjusted that needed adjusted. Here in Adams county there is quirky way of making the patient pay for each region that needs adjusted. For instance if only my neck was adjusted I paid one price. If my low back was also out, I had to pay more, etc. What a ripoff! Dr. Carla is NOT like that. When I called I asked about the pricing and was quoted $54 for a first time visit for everything (including the first adjustment). That is so different than other places. I didn't need x-rays nor did I have to watch a video about chiropractic care. YEAH! I went to my appointment and was taken in on time. She talked with me about my concerns and then had an assistant use electronic stimulation and then a short massage before adjusting me. I trusted her immediately. I don't like wimpy adjustments and she had a strong technique. Because my neck was in really bad shape and wouldn't fully adjust, she used the activator as well. I could sense right away that the right side of my neck had much more movement than before the adjustment and my low back and knees were put back and didn't have pain. She suggested I get a massage (which could be sent to my insurance) the next day and before my next adjustment. She didn't try to talk me into coming in three times a week like some do to run down your insurance. But because I know how my body works, I scheduled for the week later. I scheduled a massage with Lance, and let me tell you, he was excellent. The massage was more therapy than relaxing, which was exactly what I needed. I'm rescheduling with him again for next week. It was a little painful, but that was because he was getting into the small neck muscles and stretching them in ways that they so needed. So, it's now a week later and I had my second massage (with a different person - and not as good as Lance) and my second adjustment. Carla was awesome again. I can move and am in much less pain. Her pricing as of this date is $23 for just adjustments. If she uses electrical stimulation it jumps up to $33 for a visit. Since I have my own, I think I'll use it before I go and not pay the higher fee. These prices are cash prices not sent in to the insurance. It's a little higher if you want them sent in to go towards your deductible. I think it's a deal for the relief. I highly recommend her.
