I enrolled my child into the Summer Recreation Program at the Geary Family YMCA. It turns out that…read moreone of the children there was the same child that has been in trouble nearly every day this entire school year for hitting, pushing, kicking and generally harassing my kid. The child's brother was of course also enrolled in the program. My son and I weren't there 3 minutes before that child was up and running to another group of boys talking about (and pointing at) my son. Planning problems before the program even started for the day. I spoke with the director of the program about my concerns, turns out she was his AUNT! Not to mention that she has her daughter working there as well. Entire family affair. Of course, that child and his brother had a field day. My son said they blocked his path to get onto some play group equipment and he asked them to let him through a few times and they wouldn't. So he finally barreled his way through to get away from them. The youngest one runs up to his Aunt and tells her that my son "kicked" him. Considering my son has been bullied and assaulted this entire school year by the older of the two and never retaliated. I highly doubt that he did so now. He had every right to access that playground equipment. Terrible children, terrible family, terrible program head, terrible policies, terrible program and a HORRID YMCA to allow for that type of behavior and nepotism to go on in a program for children. Save your money. Find a program that doesn't allow for an Aunt, her daughter and her nephews to be in the same program together.
