I'd been there several times before but never had any problems. Today was different. I'm a 75-year-old veteran with significant hearing loss as a result of old age and flying helicopters in Vietnam. When I walked into the shop there were several people seated around a table playing a video game on a big-screen situated behind the counter where they keep the products. I couldn't hear a word the security guard was saying over the blaring video game, the people playing it, and some other music, all in a space not more than 500 sq. ft. at the most with horrible acoustics. I believe it was the owner behind the counter. I told him I was hard of hearing, and asked him if he could turn down the volume on the video game just a little (my exact words) while I found what I was looking for. He looked at me like I was asking for his firstborn kid, then turned the volume off. I told him exactly what I was looking for and he didn't seem at all interested in helping me, he instead, just pointed to jars of flower in a cabinet. When I tried to find out basic info like price/THC count the guy just stood there looking more than a little smug. He didn't offer to show me any samples or even discuss them. At that point, I decided to get a couple of pre-rolls and head home. The owner was, clearly, still pissed because I asked him to turn down the sound. When the guy saw my frustration, he said that I might try being a little nicer, that I was in a cannabis lounge. I'd had enough so I said fuck this place and walked out. Fortunately, there are loads of pot shops that would love to take my money, even if they had to accommodate my disability. On the other hand, it didn't appear that Coachella Relief had any people lined up to spend their money.
