Baba charged Kitty Davy and Elizabeth Patterson with finding Him a home in the west. He had many requirements, including that the grounds be not purchased, but given. There were other requirements as well. Kitty and Elizabeth searched all over the United States. Many places they saw were beautiful, but with each place there was something that did not meet Baba's requirements. Finally, Elizabeth remembered that her Father had some property by the family home in Briarcliff Acres. They went to look at the property and were bowled over by the beauty. That property met all of the requirements but one: Elizabeth needed to find out if her father would be amenable to giving the property to them. This was a big ask, and Elizabeth wasn't sure her dad would agree to just give them the property...and he did! That was back in the latter half of the 1940s (I believe 1946, but don't quote me!). Meher Baba was very pleased, and by His 1952 visit, the Center was done. It's still here, over 70 years later, and it is a major destination for many of Baba's followers.

It's obvious that Pastor Clay caters to vacationers because the messages are pretty much the same each week. Over time Pastor Clay has become a too "modern". Using the term Flipping or Freaking where the F word could be used. I made a comment basically defending police officers and was told to "check my self". Three gals privately messaged me and told me to take my racist ass and leave. Another called me a racist bitch. Three other families that I know have left this church. God never goes out of style or changes to meet the times.
