They are now charging me $50.00 for beer on the golf course in Sept 2025. The funny thing is, I don't golf and have never been on the course, they could check that but they don't. Instead they make policies to whatever fits for admin and screws the owners, the people who pay them. They also make policy changes against owners who rent out their units. The golf fee went from like $19 to $129 or something crazy and the fee for moving in to add you name etc which is usually like $100.00 for communities, it's now over $600 freaking dollars. Bastards!!!

Played this course today and it's difficult to review fairly for reasons I'll explain: upon arrival…read morethe course is set up like any premiere course (nice clubhouse, bag drop with no carts allowed in the parking lot, great practice areas with range balls included). The fellas in the pro shop were short and disinterested -- as many golfers have come to expect from more elite establishments -- but the cart attendants were cordial and apologetic (they didn't secure my bag properly so it fell off as I pulled away). The course itself is beautiful. Massive, well manicured greens, pristine water features on nearly every hole, beautiful fairways and tee boxes. The course does wind through a new neighborhood and construction is ongoing so you need to be prepared for that. The worst part of the day was the 5 hour round. I despise when courses get greedy and pinch too many foursomes off back to back. My threesome waited literally every single hole. There was no ranger on the course to speed up play but our cart would routinely tell us to pick up the pace as we waited on groups stacked up on each hole. The front 9 along took nearly 3 hours. This is unacceptable for any golf course but especially a nice course such as this. There are loads of nice courses in the Bay area so I'd recommend one that spaces out groups better or enforces pace of play.

The greens are very challenging so play for the front and let it roll to the middle or back. If you play for the middle or worse the back, you will be off the green. It's a fun track and once all the houses are built this course will go private. So, take advantage of playing here while you can if you don't live in the community. The practice areas are phenomenal, it is worth coming out here to practice if you live in the area.

Each lady received a plate containing quiche and a toasted flat bread with sun dried tomatoes on top. Finger sandwiches included egg salad, cucumber with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Two types of scones were also available served with clotted cream and/or jelly. To top off a beautifully done meal, small serving towers of dessert, from white or dark chocolate covered strawberries to miniature pastries and petit fours. The club is private most of the time to our homeowners and guests, but is available for special private events. We've hosted ladies groups, wedding receptions and other events. I highly recommend the club for your special needs.

Whether you're eating in the River Club (or by the pool) or talking to one of the fitness trainers, you can tell everyone there loves their job and is happy to work there and help you out. The place and houses themselves are not only beautiful, but it's eco-friendly too. The entire club was build in conjunction with the Audubon Society and is a preservation, so there is a large walking trail through the woods and animals (cranes, alligators) living on the grounds! The amenities are spectacular as well: tennis courts, full gym, the walking trail, a full lap pool, regular pool (with water aerobics every morning), hot tub, poolside bar, golf course (you must be a member to play though, I think)... I could go on and on!! If you know someone who lives here, visit! If you're thinking of buying yourself, you won't be sorry!

In a small basketball gymnasium at Colonial Oaks Park, 10 professional tables are lined up in two…read morecolumns. Nine are color coded pink and one green. A professional/tournament net is set up at each table with high ceilings, great flooring and great lighting. On Monday (7-10 PM), Wednesday (7-10 PM) and Saturday (2-5 PM), anywhere from 25 to 35 people will use these tables, smashing a light white plastic ball with 40mm+ diameter over the net again and again, at the same time impacting spin as well. Winners raise their arms in victory and losers grimace. Yet both shake hands or touch each other's rackets on a game well-played. Yes, this is Sarasota Table Tennis Club! That was started 15 years ago but has been in the hands of several administrations. The players come and go but the spirit of the game go on! The club charges $5 for walk-in, or $35 for a monthly subscription. The fee goes to paying rent and equipment upgrade. Currently, it is operated under the leadership of Heber Mercado, an avid table tennis player. No matter what level you play, the staff will arrange games with members and non-members. The age varies from youngster to senior. I visited the first time and surprised at the hospitality, friendliness and diversity. The level of competition and atmosphere will attract you to come back. Whether you are a local, or West Coaster, snowbirds or vacationing in area, check out the club. Three hours of rigorous play, volleying can improve your cardio and work up a great sweat!
