We had a great time on the Dolphins, Drinks & Sandbar tour with Siesta Key Watersports. We didn't see any dolphins, but wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, and it didn't ruin the experience for us. We took the 1 p.m. tour during a busy holiday weekend, so I would probably choose a morning or sunset cruise if seeing dolphins is your main priority. The sandbar stop was the highlight and the main reason I booked this tour. The water was warm, and we found lots of living sand dollars. My son loved exploring and searching in the water. We also heard that manatees passed near the boat while I was out on the sandbar, but unfortunately, I missed them. We purchased the VIP upgrade, which included priority boarding, alcoholic drinks for the adults, and soda or juice for kids. If you decide you want to have drinks after you get on the boat and didn't get the upgrade, you can add it when you're on the boat. The larger tour boat had plenty of shade and space, and it never felt crowded. The bathroom was easy to access and clean. Captain Dan and Brandt were friendly and helpful, and Captain Dan's commentary about the wildlife and waterfront homes made the ride entertaining. Even without dolphins, this was a fun afternoon on the water, and I would recommend the tour--especially for families who want a boat ride that also lets them get out and explore. read more

Four of us booked a sunset cruise with Siesta Key Watersports and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Sarasota area! Our tour guides were Chad and Joey who made for a great ride out into the ocean. Good information was shared along the way and when dolphins were located on the tour Chad was excellent at pointing them out along the way. A bald eagle nest was also seen complete with a bald eagle perched overlooking the ocean. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous and the tour was just the right amount of time to be out on the water to enjoy the boat ride. We don't drink so purchased the tickets without the alcohol included but then were welcome to bring on our own drinks and snacks for the ride. The playlist of music out on the sunset tour was top notch and apparently dolphins have a good affection for Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" as when that song came on the dolphins came out in force. We opted for the VIP Sandbar and Dolphin experience for both my teenager and myself which include priority boarding and all you can drink (water was already included in regular tickets). For kids though, it comes with all you can drink, and a gift of sand dollar and keychain. They also gave you the option to include the tip ahead of time and I am glad I did. SERVICE: The boat was a good size, with lots of safety vest, and a small toilet available. Captain was very knowledgeable and firm, but tried to make some jokes. Kyle was the first mate and he manned the bar. They had lots to drink and chips only for the children, or you have to pay I think $3. As for our experience, we had a good time. Music was playing and we felt safe. Unfortunately, I was really expecting to see dolphins...like I remember reading in the website that the Captain knows where to find them. But we were encouraged to keep an eye out for them and to yell it out. Which I happily did when I spotted them close to the home docks but by the time we turned around, they were gone and that was it. The sandbar was nice. We were surprised to find red sand. We also ran into a big blue crab and live clams, and some needle fish. Overall, for $70, two and half hours just flew by way too fast. And I don't drink alcohol but it was so hot that I thought the extra $10 will help keep us cool. So if you drink, $10 is definitely worth it. They have a variety of alcholic drinks and sodas and capri suns. And we got there super early and we were advised to go to the boat at 15 mins before 1 pm...and we did just to find everyone was already onboard...so much for priority boarding. LOL. And at the end, we had to remind them to give my son his little gift for paying for a VIP ticket because they forgot. And so they just gave him a keychain. I recommend you give them a try. The kids onboard sound like they had a great time so it's great for all ages. read more

Located just on the other side of the bridge from Siesta Key, this location was super close and had wonderful reviews so we decided to give the morning mimosa dolphin tour a try. It was amazing! Staff on the boat were incredible and there was plenty of space to move seats throughout the ride to get different views. We saw dolphins and were trying to track a manatee but also saw birds and beautiful homes along the way. A member of our party gets motion sickness and this ride didnt bother them at all. It's on very calm water. The bonus of having mimosas was wonderful but they also have beer and seltzers if you prefer something else. Would highly recommend this tour. read more

The dolphin cruise has continued to be the highlight of our vacation. This is our second time visiting Captain Dan and crew (shoutout KYLE and DAN!) on the sunset cruise and I can't recommend it more. For the low price of 55 bucks on Groupon, you get a 2 hour tour of the beautiful gulf to include many sightseeing opportunities like celebrity homes and native wildlife (all narrated by the amazing captain Dan) and an open bar with unlimited drinks. I haven't even mentioned the dolphins, they are all over this route. It end with an amazing sunset that I promise will provide you memories for a lifetime. I booked our 2 hour jetski experience online, and it was fast and easy. I bought it for 10 AM, which I was supposed to get $5 off, but I never did.. We arrived 10 minutes early, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Especially the two gentlemen by the skis. We took off at 10:15 and they honored our time and allowed us to come back at 12:15 pm. BEWARE, that you will need to be idling or close to it for about 15-20 minutes, going out and coming in. There's nothing they could do about this. It's obviously the location. However, I would suggest that your time start after you reach the point in the channel which you could operate at normal speed. I think that's fair because you can't even rent a jetski for an hour. You're gonna be riding for 20 minutes. Keep that in mind because they don't tell you that online. read more

Pre paid and reserved 2 jet skis the day before. We were told when we got there that they need physical credit card to hold onto and would not accept contactless credit card. No where on their site said that a physical credit card was needed. So they gave us no other options and told us there are no refunds. So they kept my $40 tip that I prepaid for a total of $300 that I lost. The people were not helpful and treated us like a burden and were ready to move on to the next customer without trying to make anything work. Basically told us sorry about your luck. read more

Vacation is so much better, when you are living it up on a jet ski! Siesta Key Watersports had the best customer service and instructors. We didn't have a reservation today and they squeezed us right in! Not only are they accommodating, but knowledgeable. Prior to hopping on the jet ski, we had a quick orientation that was explained in detail. So make sure to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time. The water was calm and the scenery picturesque! The parasailing itself was wonderful. We were taken last-minute on the next boat out even though we had a group of 8. The premium flight was a good length, and we had taken the platinum ride for the grown ups. The "free fall" is not much really, it's more like lightly floating down for about 40 seconds. They dunked us fully as grandpa ordered, so make sure you bring your towel. The boat was clean and well maintained and stocked with free water bottles for passengers. Here's the reason they get 3 instead of 5 stars: the photo package was sad. They didn't get any photos of the first group, and more than 20 of the 200+ photos didn't have anyone in them, instead having part of the sail or just a photo of the water. None of the "on the boat sitting together" photos transferred over, and there were SO MANY photos of things where we couldn't see our party. I even saw the guy who was doing photos somewhat randomly angling the camera in the general direction of the sail, hit the button 15 times then flick the camera down, pretty obviously not caring how the photos came out. We got about 5 good photos. They promise 150-200 photos, which we got, but maybe 25-30 useable shots and of those maybe 7-10 where it's up close and looking good. At the beginning of April, we took the Dolphin and sunset tour. Our party of 4 arrived very early for our 6:30 cruise. We met the first mate Kyle. He was a wonderful young man and shared he was headed to the military upon college graduation. I bought the tickets from a 3d party site and had no idea there was a wrist band option to get alcohol. We don't drink so didn't really need that option. However , we were rudely told by the captain to step aside and let everyone else board. At that point we didn't understand it was a wrist band issue. Captain Dan introduced himself and then proceeded with his safety briefing. It was like going on a field trip with the meanest teacher in the school. Every issue he addressed was because he would get yelled at from his boss, or he would have to fill out paperwork or he would have to clean up or his sight line would be blocked. Never once did he say the words; fun, party, unforgettable cruise, or indicate this was supposed to be enjoyable. We were told to stay seated until he told us we could get up. I have been on 6 other Dolphin sightseeing cruises and the music was lively, the atmosphere was fun, and the captain was entertaining. The music was hard to hear and was along the lines of "I can see clearly now." If you want a fun cruise steer clear of Captain Dan. read more

Amazing experience, with our lieutenant (sorry forgot your name great man!). We saw some great stuff on the boat, with very simple instructions for people who don't understand boat terms (such as stern, bow, starboard, port side, and more). We only got to see some dolphins, but with the some we saw, it was great! He explained some interesting facts about the strait that we rode on, some housing developments, and much more. I decided to go parasailing here with my sister. I really didn't know what to expect. We were on a boat ride for a bit and there were 4 other people in the boat with us. This boat took us to another boat which had all the parasailing equipment. Then one of the dudes drove the boat to find the spot for us to be lifted off. There were two dudes working in the boat and they were really nice. We decided to go second. I realized that the sooner you go, the better or else you'd be splashed by water for the duration of the time another pair from your boat is parasailing. So if you decide to go last, you're going to get splashed by water for quite a while. I mean it's not bad, especially on a hot summer day. You go in pairs, wear life vests, and they strap you up and secure you. They inform you of the emergency procedures. The lift was the crazy part for me because in a few seconds you go up, up and away. We were up 1,500 feet in the air. We look down below and see this tiny boat. The view is spectacular from above. Such an awesome experience! I hope to go back again soon! read more
