Twelve acre Founders Park in Aventura is dedicated to those who helped to get the city incorporated in 1995. There is a monument to the founders of Aventura in the park. There are two sections of the park, north and south. The south section bayside which I visited is on the promenade that runs along the Intracoastal. There is a paved walkway and the Aventura Community Green Garden. Residents of Aventura can lease a a 4 x 12 foot garden plot for $110 a year. The northern section of Founders Park is for Aventura residents only. There is a welcome center; a quarter-mile, four station exercise trail; ADA accessible playground; sun shelters; tennis courts, and a multipurpose athletic field for baseball, softball, football or soccer. The park is also the home of the Founders ParkSplashPad, a water play area inside the park. Admission is free for Aventura residents and non residents used to be able to pay to use this section of the park but this year they closed to anyone that does not have ID saying they live in Aventura. This is the first city park I have ever come across in Florida that is closed to non residents. This is probably a 5 star facility if you live here but if you are from outside of the city you are not getting in the north side of this fenced in park. read more

I love this park it's clean. It's for Aventura residence. They have somebody at the gate there and you have to show a card. They have a nice waterpark that's opened over the summer for kids that's extremely clean. They have tennis courts available for lessons. They have two clay and one hard-core, they have a water shower for kids to spray when it gets too hot. It's a really nice park and really well kept. read more

Please explain to the security at the gate the rules for interacting with guests and that they should be informed in advance about where and what lessons or activities are taking place. They should not hold people up or ask unnecessary questions, repeatedly checking IDs and failing to recognize regular guests or the cars that regularly come for tennis or soccer training at the school. read more

Across the street lay the leisure sports park with the following activities: track & field, tennis, baseball, and a children's play & splash park. The children focused areas offered security railing with a lock technology functional for adults with some sort of key fob. I loved that feature. The areas had a lot of sun protection to beat the heat. The park had adult areas to lounge, picnic and play games on the large table tops surrounded shade- provided trees. It's a tranquil spot! This a great place to take young kids. There are swings, slides, monkey bars and more. It does cost money for nonresidents; $5 for adults and $3 for kids, but definitely worth it. They have decent bathroom facilities and enough things to do there to keep your kids busy. Best for ages 3-10. We will definitely be back. read more

I find it ridiculous paying for adults and babies who can't even use the playground yet, I came there to watch my older kid playing and sit with my little one... and I have to pay for myself and a child who sits in a stroller. Plus water park doesn't work, at least consider to put your fees down when water park is closed. I had to pay $12 for 1 hour of play, I know it's all day pass but who spend a whole day in the park with a tiny baby. Over all park is beautiful and has lots of stuff do for kids read more

Possibly the only park where you will see a mom dressed in something I would wear out to dinner, long flowing dress, complete with high heels and a Chanel purse in one hand....and a juice box in the other. I spent the most part of a Saturday afternoon in this park at a birthday party for a seven year old kid. I've passed it many many times and back when it opened first and I lived in Aventura proper, I used to take my son here to play. For the size of it there is a lot going on and in that respect it is a true city park. There are lots of shady benches scattered throughout where you can sit and read in relative quiet (there are two busy roads on two sides of the park though) The playground area is great with two playgrounds, one for toddlers and tots which has a great big canopy covering it from the brutal hot Miami sun. The other half is more for the older kids with lots of climbing structures. The ground is sand and it looks like lots of the regulars bring sand toys. Oh and swings. Lots of swings. Yay swings. Who doesn't love them? It also has two picnic tables under a gazebo between the two tables which is great for moms and nannies to bring along a picnic or snacks. A relatively new splash pad is a great addition. It's open from noon until 7p.m. or dusk. But the catch is that it costs $10 per person for non-residents. But residents can bring a guest for free. It's got a baseball field, soccer/game field. Two tennis courts ($4/hr for non residents). It also has a fitness circuit. The restrooms are plentiful and well stocked and have a baby changing table. The staff I met a the gate were awesome. Nice and friendly and knew the regulars and stopped to chat with them. read more

Absolutely beautiful park. Founder's Park has something for everyone. Entry is free for Aventura residents but for nonresidents daypasses are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Entry to the splash pad is an additional $10 for nonresidents and once again, free for residents. The splash pad is perfect for kids to cool down and splash around. It has a large covered sitting area so the adults can relax in the shade while keeping an eye on the little ones. The playground area is full of awesome stuff for kids to climb on. Basically every cool jungle gym setup I've ever seen are all in one place. There is also a shaded gazebo in the middle so the adults can relax and still keep an eye on the kiddos. There are tennis courts, a baseball field with full dugouts, and a large field for whatever use you like. Netted soccer goals are available for use too. I particularly enjoy the running path with workout stations. They have 4 workout stations which have a few pretty dynamic setups. Don't forget to stay hydrated at the water fountain by the restrooms. read more

I was extremely disappointed to come to this park the other day, when it was highly recommended to me, and they severely overcharge non Aventura residents to go to the water park. We live in Hollywood and a have 13 month old baby and they wanted to charge her $13. She just started walking. Gimme a break! There was no military discount or anything unless you live or teach in Aventura. The park is beautiful and very well kept but it's obvious they don't want a certain class of people that don't live in Aventura to come and enjoy their amenities. Even the park attendant said it was expensive and says the prices were ridiculous. It's a city park, come on. read more

FARMERS MARKET SUNDAY Across from the playground there is a Sunday Farmers market! Fresh from the chicken eggs with double yolks! I also tasted fresh lychee's but they call them Rambatan and there's something else called Mamonnes lots of fresh fruit, fish and some pastries here. It's so convenient. Our 3 year old daughter loves it here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a spanking brand new playground. And it's mostly residents only, so it does not get too crowded. Somewhat of an enclave, not too far from the mall. read more

Only go if you are a resident of Aventura, for all else it is an outright robbery. For the playground alone they charge $5 for adults and $3 for kids of any age. Then if you want to use the splash pad area it is an additional $10 for each, adult and kid, again a kid of any age. Also they do not take credit card and they only accept exact change. There are plenty of other splash pads in the area that are free, for example Officer Scott A. Winters Park in Bay Harbor. And one additional criticism, they do not allow for chalk use by kids . . . read more

Founders Park has something for almost everyone. A sprinkler park, baseball/softball diamond, tennis courts and a really nice playground. The playground equipment goes from infants up to eight years old. We held my son's Miami birthday party here and the kids had a ball. I imagine when the sprinklers park is open FP gets very busy. The only downside is that it costs $5 for guests and you are only allowed access with an Aventura resident. read more

Park is very clean and close to my building. Excellent for children and seems very safe since it is surrounded by a gate. They have a splash pad that is very nicely kept up. This park is nice & very close to our apartment. I like the idea of the updated play area, but it was obviously designed WITHOUT young todlers in mind at all. I'm always afraid my not-quite 2 year old will fall. Other than that it's a good park. Love the splash pad (so does my son), and its nice to have a big round walking trail for those times you want to run or stroll (the side across the street is peaceful & clean). Staff is plesant enough, but gets only 4 stars for the oversight of play equipment for kiddies under 3. if your kid is more dexterious & older, they will love it. It seems to be the "nanny" spot, and can get crowded also... But thats not the facilites fault. read more

Beautiful park, now that I has the splash pad it couldn't b better specially during the heat of fl summer. They also added shades to the playground and they finally put a gate around the playground too so the kids can't run to the parking lot , so its very safe now. Love this place read more

Great park for kids , families or even for your own self. I live a block away and usually walk with the stroller the smaller park across from Founders. The one across has a community garden and the bay. It's more breezier and less crowded. read more

I've been coming to this park for 3 years and it keeps improving everytime. They have upgraded the mini water park with lounge chairs and tables which I love. The only thing Im upset about is that you now have to have an aventura ID to get in for free, I used to live in aventura and all you needed to get in for free was your license showing that you have an aventura address. It silly, people dont have the time to go to the aventura center to get an ID. But its ok, I no longer go as often since I dont live near by. read more

This place is the worst. We went on a Sunday morning. Way overrated and way overpriced. Plus, the people upfront overcharged our group and refused to fix the mistake and refund the overcharge. We had a mixed group of adults and children. Only the children were going into the splash area which is an extra $10.00. 1-2 adults were also going in to monitor them. However, the guy up front charged all of the adults the extra fee. We paid with a $100 so we didn't realize the mistake until we were walking away... about 20 feet away. We went back and they said unapologetically, "Sorry, we can't do anything. Ask the CITY for a refund. Bye bye." They did everything but laugh at us. I think they thought it was funny. I went to the park on Labor Day (9-4-2017) and a lady that was in the booth her name is Bonnie she was really rude to us I recommend nobody come there. My husband is a Veteran and he couldn't get in for free because from what she says: everyone have to pay. $4.00 for kids and $8.00 for adults so I would've had to pay $44.00 all together. That is ridiculous and obscured. Please do NOT go to this park especially Veterans. Bonnie is so rude and that is not a way to treat first time customers coming there. read more
