PREFACE...This review is based on the street called Enchanted Way but there was no check-in for it so they directed me here... If you're feeling the Christmas spirit and right around Christmas time...take an easy drive down the street that's the first street north of 135th street off NE 16th Ave. There you'll find 80% of the homes decorated in all out Christmas lights, some more than others, but it's no secret...most people, probably more than the neighbors, enjoy taking a quick 5-10 minute stroll down this lane to soak up the decorations. On some evenings, you'll even find Santa sitting towards the end collecting donations for a good cause. I've been going here almost every season and I think the decorations have lightened up a bit but nonetheless, it's still nice to drive by every year.

Hidden little park in the middle of the city. If you blink you will miss the entrance. It is pretty small park but its cute. It is surrounded by beautiful big trees. They form a beautiful canopy. It is a great shady park to walk. The park has pavilions one big one at the back and a small one in the front. The big one is pretty big. I saw a now closed kids playground. They have it blocked off with orange tape. I saw a petting zoo sign too and a section where they have horses. For a little park the place does have things to do. I enjoyed my find. The park has a bridge that is just a walking bridge that takes you in a Circle to the onother side of the park back. They have signs all around the park. That read to wear masks at all time. I came across a inclosed section. It was like a greenhouse. No signs of what it was just that it was a project. It looked like a butterfly garden. It looked interesting. The park is cool. I think.

Once of the best parks in the area - there are multiple walking trails that you can take (make sure you bring the bug spray!) and there are also horses that you can ride. I believe they have also introduced a petting zoo as well. This is a great place to see native Florida wildlife and plants. There is also a playground area in back of the park where you can also hold parties. Absolutely lovely place!

This park was named for state Rep. Elaine Gordon. She was Florida's leading voice behind the campaign to pass the Equal Rights Amendment which ultimately failed. She passed away in 2000. This a beautiful 22 acre natural oasis in the urban Miami that can make you forget you are in the city. Park facilities include a nature trail through the hardwood hammock, petting zoo, horseback riding lessons and pony rides, picnic pavilion, picnic tables, grills, overlook pavilion, boardwalk, restrooms, playground, and butterfly garden. There is a restroom and water fountain. The bridge to Arch Creek park directly across from it is currently closed. In 2017 leaders in the LBGTQ community unveiled a colorful sculpture by artist Alan Gutierrez is celebration of the pioneers of the movement. It is by the boardwalk that runs along the canal. Elaine Gordon's grandchildren represented her at the ceremony. I saw children in the park playing among the colorful tubes. The city hold a lot of events like bird watching, concerts, and nature tours of the park. On the park's website I saw a lot of listings for upcoming Halloween activities. During my hike around the park I saw a chimney from a house. I would love to learn more about it. Unlike it's neighbor Arch Creek park there doesn't seem to be a lot about the history of this park online. In any case this a wonderful spot for people who live in a city to get out and enjoy nature.

This park has a lot to offer. Came here for a birthday party and found the pony rides and petting zoo. You can ride the ponies for $5 and you can pet the animals at the petting zoo also for $5. They have a pig, a donkey, and a horse. The park also has trails for bikes and walking. There's a nice bridge over water. It's a nice place to come hang out and relax. There are benches throughout under big trees that keep the are very breezing. There is free parking. You can rent out the picnic/gazebo area for parties.

A beautiful, peaceful retreat with lots of iguanas and other lizards. Trails lead off through the "enchanted forest" that j m ales you feel a world away from the Miami roads.

Beautiful small park. Has trails with mangroves and a bridge, where kids see small turtles.they can fees horse and ride them. There is a veggie garden too. One can volunteer to help plant seeds. GREAT FAMILY PARK. NOT CONGESTED AT ALL

One of my favorite parks. We love bringing carrots and apples for the horses, feed and pet them. The Donkey is the smart one, he let's us feed him but not really pet him! On the weekends kids can ride ponies for $5 and horses for $10. The Park itself is gorgeous with a little pond and beautiful green trees. If you're lucky sometimes you can see parrots flying around. The playground is a little deeper in woods and it's a little scary to be there alone with kids, I wish it would be less private.

Friends and I came here to picnic for a friends birthday, while social distanced. Lots of parking and some benches under shade as well. We even got to see some mini horses and donkeys!

See? Even the horses are ready for Halloween, with their decorations.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the pony and horseback rides are back! For kids, the pony rides are $5 for 5 minutes (so essentially, a dollar a minute). If you pay with a card, rather than cash, the minimum to charge on the card is $25. For adults, they offer horseback riding lessons, and these are $45 for 30 minutes of lessons. There's also an adorable potbellied pig named Slim on the property, near the ponies and horses. The park is currently in the process of setting up Halloween decorations, and they are using the bridge as a haunted house, so anyone wanting to bike ride or walk across the bridge will need to wait until after Halloween. On this particular occasion, I got to see the Musical Madman rehearsing their British folk songs in preparation for an upcoming show, so you never know what you might run into. The weather is cooling down, making it a perfect time to visit the park and enjoy the scenery (or in my case, the music, as well!).

I love this hidden gem of a forest. The trees surround and hide the sounds of the city and you truly feel like you are in a much larger forest. I love the nature trails and the bridge overlooking the river below full of turtles, fish and baby ducks. It's so cute. I didn't get to see the horses, it must have been too hot for them when I visited. They are building a butterfly garden. I can't wait to see what it looks like when they are complete. Also the kids in their day camp all looked to be enjoying themselves.

Are you looking for an easy party venue, would you prefer exercising, studying, or just relaxing? This beautiful enchanted park offers options such as picnic shelter rentals, paved nature trails, and also pony rides/horseback riding. Guess what, it's FREE to Enter and there is no parking fee!!!! There's also a well kept tot lot for your little ones. Ibis, Turtles, and Squirrels oh my.....There's Ibis near the water, and a canal filled with turtles. (the canal could be cleaner, there was garbage in the canal.) For many years towards the later part of October, for one night only, they offer their traditional Haunted Trails for family fun. If your in the mood for getting spooked this is a fun activity. Sorry guys this is not free. However, you may be able to get a better deal if you pre-purchase tickets at the Parks and Recreation Office instead of waiting at the gate. To rent a shelter you must rent it in advance, and it includes picnic tables, electricity and water.

A special thank you to our guide, who was a friendly French woman with such a warm personality. She made everyone feel comfortable, shared interesting information along the ride, and even stopped several times to take photos for us without us having to ask. Those little touches really made the experience feel special. If you're looking for a fun, relaxing horseback ride with exceptional service, I highly recommend this tour. It was something I had really been looking forward to. Unfortunately, the experience did not match what was advertised. When it was our turn, our group included two younger children (around age 8 and up), and because of that, the guides decided not to take us through the main beach route. Instead, we only went along the shoreline for what felt like less than two minutes before being redirected back onto a road. We were told this change was due to the presence of the children and the guides not feeling comfortable continuing along the intended beach path. While I understand safety is important, this was never communicated beforehand. We paid for a beach horseback riding experience--not a brief pass by the water followed by a road ride. What made it more disappointing was that my family had been waiting to watch this special moment, only to find out last minute that we wouldn't even be going through the designated beach area that was part of the tour. This experience was not cheap, and we did not receive what was advertised. I would strongly recommend that if you book this tour, you confirm in advance that your group will actually be riding along the beach and not grouped with younger children, as this may significantly change your experience without prior notice. Overall, I was very disappointed and felt that the experience did not deliver what was promised.

Their communication and willingness to accommodate us made us feel extremely confident and excited about the experience. When we arrived, everything was organized and relaxed. One thing I really appreciated was that they allowed me to ride the same horse I had during my previous visit, named Legacy. Legacy is such a beautiful and calm horse, and it made the experience even more special being reunited with him again. Our guide Giana was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire ride feel comfortable and fun. She checked in on everyone throughout the ride, made sure we were confident handling the horses, and shared helpful tips along the way. Between the great staff, well-trained horses, and excellent guidance from Giana, it turned into a truly memorable experience for both of us. When I arrived around 12ish, they greeted me and were preparing the horses. Andre was on another ride, so I waited until he was finished. A lot of horses were saddled up and I noticed there was another group that was joining the ride. It was a group of 6! Thus, I knew this was going to be a slower paced ride. We did get a nice ride on the trails, and the majority were shaded. We did see some cows and donkeys too. It was a full two hour ride. We did get to trot a little, but there was no opportunity to lope or canter due to the large group. While Andre and Andrea looked to be nice people, and the ride was fine, the reason for the two stars is the treatment of the horses. The horse I rode looked pretty under weight. It seemed that many others too looked skinny. That is sad as last year, my horse looked ok. Also, it looked like the horses didn't have a break in between rides, so they might be overworked. This was noticed by my horse friends, as well as the other group. They were purposely not following Andre's instructions to not have the horses eat during the ride. They were also asking how much longer before the ride ends, and questioning whether the horses were going to be ridden on the next ride afterwards. While I do like Andre and Andrea, it is the welfare of the horses that have the highest priority. If they are not treated well, they shouldn't be ridden. The high reviews from others are from customers who had great rides like me, but may not have noticed the conditions of the horses, or the horses were treated better previously. I beg Andre and Andrea to please make sure the well being of the horses are the first priority, especially for 65 per hour on a group ride.

One of the highlights of the park is the nature inspired 10,800 square foot playground. The new playground was designed by LandscapeDE who was hired by Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces with the goal of creating a space that would encourage residents and their children to spend more time outside, be active, and de-stress. LandscapeDE creates very distinctive and creative outdoor play spaces for children. If you ever saw one you would know it instantly. They also created the amazing ADA accessible playground in Pinecrest Gardens with the anole lizard ramp and play structure and a brand new playground for Pioneer Park in Port St. Lucie. For Biscayne Shores & Gardens Park they built on a five foot earth mound and added an explorer dome, boulder climbers, an embankment slide, swings, bee and forest bug spring riders, a forest lake boat, and an embankment slide. Royal palms, gumbo limbo trees, live oaks, milkweeds, Fakahatchee grass, pineland crotons, yellowtops, porterweeds, gamagrass, giant ironweeds, and Boston ferns were planted to accent the area. The large trees give the playground the feel of being in a forest as they provide shade and connect the playground to nature. The playground was one of the first in Miami Dade County to incorporate nature based play elements. Biscayne Shore and Gardens Park also has a new 3,013 square foot recreation center that offers arts and crafts, after school programs, and camps. The recreations center includes a park office, restrooms, and storage space, a 20-vehicle lighted parking lot, walkway lighting, sidewalks, and landscaping.
