Big park that includes walking trail where some people roller skate and/or ride their bicycles. It has a big lake and a place for RVs. Spaces for rentals where people can host family birthdays, etc. I've taken my dogs for walks there so you can do that as well. I am not sure if there is a specific area for dogs so I would not let them off their leashes if you are not in a secluded area. it even has a water park on the northeast end. I don't like to be outside in the summer during the day. At all. But I made an exception for my favorite eleven year old. It was his birthday party and I had to be there. Parking was tough. I had several heavy things I was bringing and it was a long schlep with them. The party was at the water park. I couldn't find it but a nice employee helped me and told me to follow him. We had Funbrella A. It did provide shade. There were about twenty of us. I swam with the kids. I played Marco Polo with them. It was fun. We ate and two and a half hours into the party, it rained. The lifeguards came around to assist with a cart for us to load the things so we could leave. Four of them came around and were super nice. I am giving this park 3 stars because, and I know this sounds odd, but it just feels outdated. The water park area just seems ho-hum. Not exciting. The last time I was at this park was maybe forty years ago when I was a child. Everything looks the same! They do offer a raincheck if it rains within two hours of being there. There are no refunds. Park admission is $3 per car and the water park is $10 per person to get in. I do think they gave my friend the raincheck for our admissions, even though it was slightly over two hours. read more

TY Park is a large park located in East Hollywood. It has beautiful nature trails, playgrounds, different size pavilions for party rentals, picnic tables and public restrooms. Some of the pavilions include barbecue grills. They also have RV stay rental locations, which is pretty cool cause I believe the parking provides a woodsy nature vibe. They are also home to pretty big waterpark called Castaway Island, perfect to get away from summer. We went for a birthday party and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was enough space to hold multiple games, such as a three legged race, potato sack race, and the egg spoon race. There was also enough room to use a bounce house right next to the pavilion. read more

Beautiful, large park located within 10-15 minutes from the Hollywood Beach. I didn't realize they charge to park on the weekends so one Saturday i quickly busted a U-turn and left haha. Ended up coming back during the weekday while its free and walked around the trail for a good 30 minutes. I was told this park holds outdoor events with live music and I can definitely see the hype about it. There was people of all ages and families but nothing too crazy even while going around 5 pm. They have a cute water park for kids too which I thought was neat. Overall, I see myself going back and getting some runs in. read more

TY Park is a great community resource. Filled with huge trees, a beautiful lake, and wide open spaces, this park is a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of South Florida. There is a wide paved path that loops around the park for walking, running, and cycling. My husband and I have used the basketball courts and tennis courts, both well paved and maintained. There is a beautiful 2.0 mile trail that you are able to run, bike or walk on. You are sure to see the iguanas sun-bathing, hear the birds chirping and the squirrels playing with one another! Lovely park with pedestrian friendly trails. The website indicates a 8am opening but if you are just running through it seems you can go in earlier. Trails are just under 2 miles around, and I saw a good variety of folks out there getting their workout in. If you plan on staying still, or not going too fast, bring your bug spray. The water park looks like it's on the way out for the season, and the picnic areas looked nice as well, which is good because it might not be water park season but it's for sure not so hot out you are going to die and can hang with friends and fam to bbq! read more

The type of trees that are so wide you can't wrap your hand around them They are beautiful to look at. The park has nice walking trails they are mostly shady. We needed an RV site for the night and called last minute to see if they had an opening. Lucky for us they did. The park was really pretty and the employees were friendly. Our site had a view of the lake and the best part, it was only $40 a night. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

T.Y Park is located on Sheridan St right before the bridge that leads to I-95 if you're heading towards Hollywood beach. I've passed by this park many times but recently decided it was a great place for a Saturday morning run with my best gal. Like many Broward Parks, you have an entrance fee on weekends which I believe is $1.50 per person. This park has a trail that circles the park which is great for a jog, walk, or run. There are markers to let you know when you've reached 1/4 of a mile which is helpful! Near the front, there is a mini misting station which comes in handy in south Florida summer heat! There are pavilions that you can host parties at for birthdays, gender reveals, etc. They even have an area for RVs and camping which I didn't know about! If you're looking for a picnic in the park, you can find benches and picnic tables scattered throughout it under shady trees. There's a huge lake in the middle with a gazebo that is currently closed. A nice park to visit if you're in the Hollywood area. read more

Lovely park. Lots of trees, lots of parking, public restrooms, RV parking, sidewalks, pond, aqua center...i mean, it's absolutely lovely. I highly recommend this park. It's pet friendly. I see many people having picnics, relaxing, walking, working out. I haven't found a reason to not like this park. The bathrooms are decent, and always have privacy and tissue. I haven't utilized much of the amenities, like the pool or aquatic center, weekend events, or anything. But we really enjoy coming for our weekly PE class w/ Saints. This is my local park. While I find the hours and pricing a little confusing, it's otherwise easy-access and I do enjoying stopping by close to sundown to get in a good walk around the perimeter. The air quality is good, the park is clean, and there's always positive people energy. There are games and gathering spaces as well, but for me it's always just been about the walking trail. read more

Loads of gorgeous trees, squirrels, ducks and birds. Did not see any alligators or snakes! Lots of bbq stations, lovely to see families meeting up. T-Y Park short for Topeekeegee Yugnee Park is a sprawling Park in Broward County Florida. I remember when it was very rustic without the current amenities. I've visited this park many times over the years. This is a great park to pack up the family and picnic supplies and spend the day. There's a trail for nature lovers. I like the variety of Palm Trees and trees for shade. I always found this park to be good for large groups like my daughters school outings and Girl Scouts. We do make sure we don't get separated. You don't want to have to try to find someone that's lost in the park. If you are new in the Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood area and enjoy outdoor activities you should check out T-Y Park. If you're a resident like I used to be, I'm sure you know about it. Especially if you have school aged children. read more

I've been going to this park since I was a kid. Before they had the water park they had a beach. This park has changed over the years. Its gotten better. Its not a very big park, but there is lots of tings to do there: basketball, boat rentals, nice closed in play ground, lots of shaded areas to have BBQs , bike ride and best of all they have an awesome water park. read more

Topeekeegee Park, frequently shortened to T. Y. Park was named for the Seminole word meaning gathering place and for a half a century it is where residents of Hollywood and the surrounding areas have met up for exercise, celebrations, and play. Fifty years ago on the north side of Sheridan Street, I-95 did not yet exist. Instead you would have seen a dairy farm, a paper mill, and a cabinet millwork company. There was also a lake that was made bigger when materials were taken out for area construction. Local kids would swim and play in the lake because there were no parks in the area. A group of board thought the 85 acre Butler Dairy Farm and which contained the lake would make an deal location for a park. Board member B.L. David was friends with Ben Butler, owner of the farm and he was able to get him to agree to sell the land but the city didn't have the money for the purchase. The South Broward Park District stepped to complete the deal. In 1971, local architect Jack Kelso was brought in to design the park. During it's peak, the park would attract 12,000 people a day. To increase the park capacity, two more parcels of land were purchased on wither side bringing the total acreage of the park to the 138.6 acres it is today. The popularity of this park led to the development of C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines. Today the park still draws the community together. Families can visit Castaway Creek that contains two water playgrounds. The park also offers boat rentals, a playground, basketball and tennis courts, fishing pier, gazebo, a full hookup RV campground, outdoor exercise equipment, 13 picnic shelters, and open space for play. Right now a lot of the amenities are taped off and closed due to Covid. What isn't closed is what drew me to the park, the two mile paved loop pathway for exercise. I was far from alone. I encountered many people on a beautiful weekday afternoon out exercising. During the week the park is free. On weekends and holidays this park like all county parks charges a $1.25 entrance fee. That is not so far from the 25 cents the park first charged non residents when it opened. Going to the park remains an economical outing for families looking for a day of fun, exercise, and nature. read more

TY Park you were my happy place. Unfortunately with Covid 19 you changed all that. Was ecstatic when you first opened up as restrictions were lifted from Covid 19. Except you took it too extreme instead of coming here as my go to spot for a nice 2 mile walk on your beautiful trail. I am greeted by the land of zero face masks. This is the place you come if you want Covid. I have not been on isolation for five months just to get it now by getting fresh air. 99% of the people come here with zero masks. The other day I came thinking this would have changed instead it got worse 100's of people no social distancing and zero compliance. I ran with my mask but felt very unsafe. Won't return until they find a cure or smarten up and put restrictions in place. Will work out from home in the meantime. read more

I have been to this park twice and both times has been for parties for the same friend. First time was her baby shower for her daughter, and the second time her first birthday party. Its safe to say they love this park! And I can see why. It has a lot pavilions that can be rented for parties. Each of them is equipped with a grill. There is plenty of parking space as well. Be aware there is a entrance fee of $1.50 per person. In other words if you have four people in your car you would have to pay $6 and so on, there are also boats for rent. These are small boats you row in, not motorized ones. After the party I took the time to drive around in whatever areas my vehicle was allowed to go. There are trails and there he's a very nice lake/pond where you can have a nice long walk looking at the water there are also tennis courts and a playground. And something that is very important to me... a lot of PokéStops for Pokémon GO! The motto of this park is "The gathering place" and I think it is safe to say that it is indeed a very nice park to gather and have fun. read more

Wow! What a find! I've seen the signs while driving on I-95 a million times but never thought to stop and visit. Traffic delays caused us to miss the 4:50 showing of a movie at Oakwood Plaza, so we made lemonade out of lemons and killed the time until the 6:30 showing at T.Y. Park. It's hard to believe such a beautiful oasis is so close to a major interstate highway! Features include: -A water park (closed during the winter) -Paddle boat rentals -A "safety training" ground for kids -Miles of paved trails that are mostly shaded -Pavilions and BBQ grills -Areas for camping -RV hookup area We had a lovely afternoon strolling in the park and enjoying the beautiful spring weather! There was plenty of parking and entry was free because it was a weekday. I think it's $1.50 per car on the weekends and it probably gets significantly more crowded then as well, but as a weekday respite from the hustle and bustle of living in a major metropolitan area, it can't be beat! read more

Review based solely on the Camelot Days Medieval Festival. With that said, this park is beautiful and spacious. You do have to pay for parking though, which sucks, but oh well; this park is so well kept that forking over $1.50 for head isn't a big deal to me. Anyway, I went a weekend ago to the festival. This was my second year in a row going to it and I just love it. It's well done. You go in, they have lines for Groupons, cash, and cards. I had a Groupon for a friend of mine and myself and we entered easily. The festival had a quest, many shows, and so much food. A lot of the shows are interactive comedies, and well, they require volunteers. My friend ended up being a volunteer for one of the shows. It was pretty epic. Some of the shows they have include flaming whips, sinning nuns, and even jousting. Oh, and if that isn't enough, they have fortune tellers all around. They also have just about every gift shop imaginable from jewelry to clothes to handmade soap. If you don't find a trinket here to buy, I would be surprised, especially with how they have ATMs everywhere. Seriously. Other than that, parking can be hectic if only because this festival gets packed, but they truly do have everything organized. Best of all, if you need something not in this park, such as a cup of coffee, they have a plaza across the street with a Starbucks. Yes, I am well aware - priorities. Truly a great festival. Topeekeegee Yugnee Park, commonly known just as "T. Y. Park" because nobody really seems to know how to properly pronounce Topeekeegee Yugnee. Matter of fact the Native Americans I asked about it told me that the spelling doesn't exactly work out right in their language and that, to them, wouldn't exactly translate to "Gathering Place," but rather to a "clear area," as in being one free of undergrowth. So, who knows for sure, but for me I'll take the word of the Seminole over that of the Broward County Parks Department. T. Y. is one of our bigger (136.8 acres) parks, one of the most popular, and one that any city can be proud to have in that has so much to offer. It has a lake, boat rentals, fishing (if you are over 16 or under 65 you need a fishing license...trust me, they enforce it), bike rentals, biking paths, jogging paths, an aquatics complex, a water playground called "Castaway Island," 61 paved RV equipped with electric, a primitive camping area but generally only for youth camp outs, all kinds and sorts of picnic shelters including one that can handle up to 500 people, tennis, basketball and volleyball, which is only to name a few. The only downside for me is that, especially on weekends, they charge a fee and it can really become a little too popular with events like corporate picnics, weddings, baby showers and the like. read more
