The venue we rented out was the San Juan Capistrano Community Center. The customer service is horrible. They act all nice but when you actually ask for something, they throw out the passive aggressive act. EX: I asked for a round table for the buffet area. My contact said "no problem". I talk to the tech guy/supervisor (no idea who he is) and he said "we don't do that but OK, we'll make an exception" and he looked exasperated. I told him I told someone two days ago so it was definitely not last minute. EX: The sound system has been purchased two years ago and they still don't have a cable from the laptop or projector program to their own sound system. I ask him what it's called and the tech guy repeatedly said "I don't know". Sigh. EX. The lady in charge of the night shift kept saying "you have to stay the whole time. If the rental company stays longer than 10pm (they got there at 9:40) we'll have to overcharge you" She just made it a point to let us know she might overcharge us. ARGH! Everything else was fine but THEY made the whole experience tense.

When I was in 4th grade my class was doing a project. The project was that we needed to do one…read morerandom act of kindness. My random act of kindness was to make(with my mom) a home cooked, two day brewed roast for the fire department. My mom had come up with the idea because she figured that they had such long shifts, they didn't get to have home cooked meals very often. So we first started with home baked cookies, I was too nervous to start with a roast as I was afraid the firefighters wouldn't like it. They were OVER the moon for the cookies. So we came back and brought them a pot roast in my moms crock pot and told them to give us a call and we'll pick up the crock pot when they've finished eating and such. Coincidently, I had a fire start in my trash can in my drive away about a week later and they had responded to put it out. So then, they had known my address. Once they realized it was the food people's house, they did something unimaginable. After putting out the fire in my trash can, they left. They left my house and went to the store and purchased flowers, a teddy bear and a thank you note (and also went to the station to get the crock pot lol). They pulled up to my house and gave me all these gifts because they appreciated my 4th grade self, bringing them a home cooked meal. I'm 21 years old now, I live in Monterey and I quite literally think of that day, almost every single day of my life. The gentlemen that let me sit in the drivers seat of the fire truck, the flowers, the little white lamb stuffed animal- everything has made such a positive impact in my life. I don't think the men that had participated in that event will ever see this, but if by some luck they do I want them to know I think of it everyday and that they are the reason I am in the career field I'm in now. Firefighters are usually the sweetest, however the kind acts those men made just because I brought them a roast and cookies, will forever make me smile.

The Engineers were helpful in guiding in the right path. The Front desk were polite, courteous and professional. Even though the process for my project took some time, it was more because I was learning the ropes and so were the contractors. In hindsight all of their asks to point. Their website and electronic systems were really awesome and to the point and accurate. We were able to request our copies of drawings and were provided promptly. They work had to provide guidance and protect the current and future residents. Again I must thank all concerned in helping me get the project completed correctly.

Costa Mesa City Hall right across the OC Fairgrounds. The tall, multi-story building sits between…read moreand shares the same parking lot as Vanguard University t and the Costa Mesa Police Department. It's very easy to find with plenty of accessible parking spots as well as a couple electric car charging stations. When you walk in, you must check in with the front desk with a photo ID and the nice clerk or security guard will directly you to whichever floor you're going to. The elevator is secure so the Scott employees must use their card keys to get you to your floor. This particular day, I was going to Parks & Community Services for a park rental permit. I had done most of my preparation and research by looking online for park amenities and availabilities and had called in a few times to clear questions. The lady at the front desk was super helpful. Since I was had a larger gathering with sports and games at Estancia Park, I needed prior approval from the Parks & Community Services manager. The approval was easy and I just needed to complete the form(s) and pay. The only issue I had was that I came in on a Friday a bit before they closed and Apple Pay (or any electronic payment for that matter) wasn't accepted. Make sure you have a physical credit card, your checkbook or cold hard cash with you. Fortunately, the nice lady offered to keep my park rental application so I can return to pay first thing Monday. You want to try to book which ever rental facility asap because they all fill up pretty quickly (especially the facilities with restrooms or tables) and it's first come, first paid. Luck for me, it all worked out great the following Monday and my gathering went off without a hitch at Estancia Park. It was a beautiful day at the park with my friends and family! Thanks City of Costa Mesa for making my day and making it so easy. Highly recommended.

She is partially correct that her staff cannot respond to me via email or verbally but I can report anything as a third party witness. The last day of school which I was there with my wife I saw a 2nd grade student bully a 1st grader in my son's class. In writing there is a zero tolerance on such behavior but in reality it is alive and well and accepted. Sometime in the spring I had my back turned waiting for my oldest son to get out I sensed something wrong. I turned around and a 4th grade kid was down and knocked out. I was the only adult who saw it and helped the child. I phoned the front desk and Teachers and the Principal arrived. The kid didn't know his name or where he was. Instead of calling the front desk I know now to dial 911!

Originally I phoned the office, but I didn't really get much of a help over the phone. I had left 3 messages, but no call backs. So thinking that these are lazy people maybe?? Oh no no, this is one busy office with proficiency to the sky!! So why the no call backs? Well, this office is so busy that unless you request an appointment, you will be left behind because they are speedy and lightening fast but if you just want to talk, you better have done your initial homework and have all your docs ready, or you snooze you lose!! Doing international business in Latin America can be tough especially when documentations need authentication. Country like Panama is very efficient because it has that ever famous and busy canal that was built almost 100 years ago and since then it has never missed a beat or any hiccups. What's even better is that if you have all of your documents done by US & Panama legal standards, the Consulate General office here in Los Angeles can help you with any notary/authentication without you flying down (awesome!!). There are a few Panamanian consulate office here in the U.S. They are in New York, D.C., Pennsylvania, Houston and Los Angeles. I think the LA office is the best (of course, I am biased...haha) and they are very busy. I have dealt with other Consulate offices from the Latin American countries, and I cannot say that they are this efficient!! As a matter of fact, they are the contrary. So be sure to book an appointment if you need their services and try not to waste their time. Thank you General Consul and the executive assistant for all the personal help and support . My lawyer and I will await for the docs to come back from Panama via Fedex...YAY!
