The conference room was large, well-equipped, and the audio visual equipment was excellent. Several clip on and handheld microphones were available, and they actually worked. The speaker system was also good. The speakers were clear and loud enough to reach attendees in the back. The rest of the facility, including the restrooms, were clean and up to date. I came in contact with a few staff members, and they were very friendly. If you ever find yourself attending or presenting material at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, you will enjoy yourself.

Lines clearly drawn. + Lots of fencing around each court, highly reducing ball-on interferences. + Water refill station right by the courts. Pretty big parking lot. The restroom is accessible inside the Community Center during their business hours. Non-likes: - Not a lot of people come here for pick-up pickleball games. You likely have to bring your own people. Others bring their own people for private play or coaching. If you're lucky, you might find nice people there who'll let you join in. - It's near the beach, so strong breezes should be no surprise to you. Despite the wind tarps layered all along the surrounding fence, gusts still definitely affect gameplay. The day I went, there was a boxing tournament inside the Community Center, so parking was PACKED. Struggled to find parking for 10 minutes. What's worse is the other side park prohibits parking there for pickleball players. However, I just got off the phone with an associate who said that this was actually a rare event, and that normally parking is pretty open.

They also offer free events and excursions at low cost for the teens throughout the year. There is a small daycare facility as well, The Child's Pace with super sweet staff. I believe it's sliding scale and not affiliated with the city, but definitely an affordable option for daycare and after school programming for younger kids. The gymnasium is well maintained and offer pickleball in the mornings, basketball for adults and youth during the day. Clean bathrooms, super helpful staff.. definitely a hidden gym!

I came at night and wasn't that sketchy…read more I was here for my one and only kickball game at night. The only area lit up was the basketball courts and there was little to no signage as to where the baseball diamonds where, luckily I saw a fella with a 30-Rack of beer and followed him. He's gotta be a kickball player, right? So beyond the baseball diamonds and the basketball courts there's isn't much "park" here at all. The grassy areas are pretty small and really close to some busy streets. The parking area is tight and the homeless fellas seem to have taken over one of the covered picnic areas. All in all, avoid this place at night and maybe just let your dog poop here during the day.
