The nurses wouldnt tell me anything, while I shivered with a high fever. They naver gave me a covid test I just assumed I had it because I had all the symptoms. I was feverish, chills and delusional it was very scary. My family was terified. When I went to leave I realised my new back brace for my broken back I got at the hospital and and other disability supplies were gone from my closet. I asked the nurses and everyone. No one could help me of even seemed to care or look for them, so I had to leave the facilities with out the back brace and suppies I was given in the hospital. The level of indifference was tremendous.

This facility does not know its customers. The food is TERRIBLE for older individuals. Everything…read moreis from frozen meat/fish/vegetables. Most items are breaded and fried. Nothing fresh, nor healthy. While a good majority of residents still abide by the Catholic No-Meat-Fridays, the facility sometimes only serves meat dishes on Friday - stating "We can make you a Grilled Cheese if you want". The priest hired to say mass can care less about the mass - many times he skips parts of the mass in order to get out of "work" sooner. Given the high price paid for a Catholic Senior Living Facility, their performance is AT BEST is one star, if even that.

Disappointed and Deeply Concerned…read more Darcy Hall Nursing Home claims to care for our loved ones as if they were family--but sadly, that has not been my experience. While this promise sounds reassuring, the reality is far from it. Many of the aides appear frustrated or even annoyed when asked to assist with basic care needs, such as taking a resident to the bathroom or changing a soiled diaper. The looks they give--cold, dismissive, and irritated--make you feel like you're an inconvenience for simply advocating for your loved one. What's even more disheartening is witnessing these same staff members frequently on their phones, chatting away, seemingly prioritizing personal conversations over their professional responsibilities. This is not just unprofessional--it's unacceptable in a facility that should be focused on the well-being and dignity of its residents. Darcy Hall needs to seriously reconsider its hiring practices. Working in elder care is not just a job--it's a calling that requires compassion, patience, and a genuine heart for service. Sadly, it seems that too many of the current aides and nurses are simply there for a paycheck, with little to no investment in the people they are supposed to be caring for. Our loved ones deserve so much better. Darcy Hall can and must do better. One star is not even what they deserve but without selecting one I can't post my review.

Darcy is strictly about money only!!! They could care less about providing quality service. If you have loved ones who are in need of rehabilitation or medical care this is NOT the place for them. I'm sorry I had to give this place a 1 star rating. It should be a negative star. When my mother came to this facility she was able to walk with the assistance of a walker and a cane in September, by mid October she was bed ridden and I never saw my mother walk again. When I took her out of Darcy in January 2019, she was still bed ridden and had begun to develop bed sores due to neglect, dehydration, and malnourishment. I asked on several occasions could they please feed her intravenously, which fell on deaf ears and instead they placed her on a soft food puree diet that did nothing at all, mind you my mother was not a cancer or diabetic patient yet she was losing weight rapidly. When my mother arrived at Darcy she had a private room for about a month and I was paying out of pocket costs for her care. The minute I informed the facility of my intention to apply for medicaid because of the high costs. It was like a major party celebration on New Year's Eve!! They told me welcome to the Darcy Hall family, that's when the party really started. They immediately transferred my mother from a private room and squeezed her into a medicaid pending room that was shared with 2 other persons. Never informing me of this change. My mother's bed and the other person's bed was separated by only a draw curtain. For the most part they just let her lay there in the bed never even moving her from her bed to a wheel chair only once. I had set up a small account for her to buy personal items which Darcy depleted by stating she owed them money at the time I was about to apply for medicaid. The room was definitely too small for 3 persons. I visited my mother on several occasions along with my family and there was no place for us to sit or visit, and if the other patients had visitors you really couldn't sit in there. If your love ones need medications the Darcy staff do not make proper notifications to let you know of the changes. They charge you for everything. The prices are exorbitant and that is just for room and board not including (medications). PLEASE!! if you love your love ones DO NOT PLACE THEM IN DARCY!!! Also read the fine print of your rights. The only matter of concern at Darcy is all about Money Only!! But definitely not about the patient's care. Eventually I had seen and had enough my mother's health was declining rapidly so I took her out of Darcy and brought her home. Darcy's only concern was how I was going to pay them for my mother's care during her stay at their facility. I informed them that upon her release I would pay them in full. Which I did without medicaid assistance, even after paying Darcy I was still receiving bills where I had to complain and show the staff that I didn't owe them nothing. From my experience I would NEVER!!! recommend Darcy Hall to anybody. Do your research and find a better care place for your loved ones. Also pay close attention to the reviews before making a choice. CHOICES DO MATTER!!! Upon reading this negative review Darcy will probably respond to this review via email with the usual give them a call so that they can address this issue. They don't even give you a person to speak to, just the general number. But when contacting them, nothing ever changes. Giving God the praise my mother is no longer at Darcy and my mother's medical bills at Darcy is paid in full so no need for any further dialogue via email, or phone.Thank you Darcy Hall for FAILING my trust and instead providing poor, and inadequate, services to my loved one. Recommendations: 1) Check on your love ones daily. 2) Listen to your love one's complaints. 3)Take pictures of your loved one's body and appearance if possible. Your love one's need your protection too.

Unprofessional administration seems more interested in financial gain/turning patients in/out than…read morehelping resident that gets admitted to its SNF reach full rehabilitation potential. The aides, housekeeping staff, and nurses & most of the therapy staff are more professional than the administrative staff. However, lower level staff can only be as professional as the training and resources allow. For example, if the staff has to be in the dining room assisting residents who dine there that means without adequate staff, the patients who need the most care in their rooms will not get there calls for help answered. The hallways will be deserted. When you get that call from your loved one that they've been waiting 20 minutes for help. The administrative staff consists of a director, an executive director who did not respond to phone messages until corporate office was contacted, a Case Manager who says she's there to help however imo she's there to help the administration. Staff including Director, Case Manager, some therapy staff need training on HIPAA laws so that when a resident says they want/need family/friend to help make decision decisions, their mistaken or intentional response should not be you are competent & can make your own decisions & not act inappropriately to block family advocating for patient who objects to improper staff behavior. The director of therapy is a speech therapist although they say there's a physiatrist there was none. The billing department person did not respond to a request for a itemized list of charges that would be submitted to the insurance company. Don't expect to get any or much service if you're if you're in your room during meal . In the room my loved one was in , the call button is that is a push button at the end of the cord. It's like the end of a window blind cord with the actual button that you need to press at the bottom so difficult for the patient will know they properly pushed it . Patient doesn't know whether it's working or not and nobody is showing up .The light that indicates it's on is on the wall behind their head and that they are medically unable to turn around they will never know if by push pushing the button someone heard their call for help. Until a complaint was registered with the state, I didn't even realize that they have a intercom system where someone should be coming on and saying "can I help you? How can I help you?" imagine if there was an emergency and you're waiting 20 minutes without assurance that they heard you ? Only after addressing this concern with the agency for healthcare administration, did this system start to be used however, still it was only used when someone was staffing the nursing station to specifically answer those calls . Impossible to reach the facility doctor that automatically is assigned to see patients there. In addition to being able to address medical concerns about your loved one , it's important Important because you need to know what he's gonna say about patient's discharge if anything. During an appeal process it's best to get your own doctors to support your discharge concerns, if you feel your loved one is being told that Medicare won't pay for any further therapy or nursing. Know your rights involving right of family members to be consulted. If patient gives permission they will try to claim the HIPAA does not allow it even if the patient wants it. Make sure you get access to the electronic records portal immediately. The admissions folder does not contain information on where you can contact someone if you have a complaint or concern outside of the facility. Make sure you monitor for accuracy in patient's progress, especially in therapy . Ask for therapy notes every week because you won't find them in the patient's portal . Know your discharge rights. If you have a grievance and it is not responded to timely, go directly to the corporate office if you experience a problem that is not resolved by the staff on the premises. https://www.lifespacecommunities.com/contact/ The brochure that the sales person hands you when you visit the facility in advance of putting your loved one thereIt's connected to a retirement community where they will send the residents to their Skilled Nursing Facility. Lots of them are up in age, and they don't seem to have many local if any family members to advocate for them. One such lady who had no family members I could not leave her room independently was asking for her missing phone repeatedly for a week, yet it does not appear. Anyone made an attempt to locate it. The admissions package claims says facility has a physiatrist it didn't. Facility admits non Waterford apts residents from hospitals. Nursing Director put false information into patient's chart about family member. So make sure you go into the electronic record frequently and read the notes. If you try to address, legitimate concerns they will try to make you look like the problem.

I was a patient from April 9 to 24, 2026, recovering from hip surgery. Unfortunately, the service I…read morereceived was not up to standard. I was constantly awakened for meds, blood work, diabetic testing (4 times a day), and an X-ray of the hip was taken at 11:15 pm the day before discharge, bed sore treatment at 11:30 pm (I don't have bed sores). The housekeeping service was unacceptable. See the pictures below showing the stains around the toilet, the dirty floor, and the shower. It was disgusting! I reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor, and it was improved immediately. The air mattress malfunctioned, and it took 3 days to replace it. I slept in the chair for 3 nights. The food was terrible, and as a result, I lost 6 pounds from not eating. I really looked forward to my family visiting on weekends so we could share meals. The physical and occupational therapy was outstanding; a big shout-out to Darrell, Eric, and Chad for their support and encouragement. I felt confident about leaving the facility and looked forward to continuing PT at home. Unfortunately, Janie Nixon-Harmon, Social Services Mgr, did not make contact with the PT home care service, as indicated on the checkout form and verbally communicated. This was also true of the meal plan service. I spent an hour plus on the phone with my insurance provider setting up the PT service and Meal service. The delay impacts my recovery time frame. PT is delayed for over a week and half.
