Where to begin... I…read moreattended 3/29 class for Flavors of Thailand. The menu looked promising but the class was not what I was expecting. First of all, got a weird vibe from the instructor. I had very brief encounters with him but his demeanor towards me seemed very rude. Asked him very simple questions but made me seem like I was asking him dumb questions. Second, the menu was not good. As someone who has been to a lot of Thai restaurants, this might have been for people who are not very familiar with authentic Thai food. I knew the class was over when the instructor told us to soak the rice paper into water for 30-45 seconds (I understand it was not warm water and we used tap water) Still, anyone who has actually has made spring rolls before knows that is way too long. Pad see ew was atrocious. Only used oyster sauce and tamari as sauces... don't really see the point of coming to a cooking class when your cabinet has better selection of spices/sauces. Chicken Khao Soi was decent. Paying 120 dollars for this class was a big mistake. I don't quite understand how they could charge this much knowing that the ingredients they used were fairly affordable. Honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Allison was very sweet. The place was very cute. Only 2 positives.

I also appreciate that he gave me a full credit for what I had spent on the class to be able to try them again with another class. I am very pleased with this solution, and can only add that I suggest they prioritize training their customer service team to be more solutions oriented in the future, and to avoid simply not responding to their customers. This solution is what I was hoping for the whole time, just had to wait two months to get it. ------------------------- This service is a joke. You are better off booking with the venue hosting the cooking classes directly. I had purchased this class as a Christmas present for my partner and I. I chose an "Exciting Spanish Meal" after reviewing all of the options available. CozyMeal confirmed details numerous times before the class. When we arrived, we weren't cooking the meal that I had booked, it was actually a French meal (all of the components I had already cooked myself numerous times so this wasn't much of a class for me). I let the chef know we had signed up for a different class and he said it must be a glitch with the CozyMeal system, as that venue had the French class booked that night for months prior. I contacted CozyMeal customer service the next day and they said they were escalating my issue, whatever that means. I was shuffled around between three different customer service members, all saying they were waiting for an update. I didn't hear back for two weeks so I inquired again if there were any updates, they said they were still waiting. I contacted twice more for follow up after that, one a week after, one three weeks after, and still to this day have not received another email or any communication or "updates" from CozyMeal. My class was January 12th and it is now March 27th and I have not received any further communication from them. These classes are not cheap, I spent $89 per person for a class I did not sign up for, that was of no value to me at all. That is why I said book with the venue directly instead of CozyMeal, at least you will have peace of mind of where your money is getting spent, and won't get ignored by customer service after spending $180 on a class you have no idea if you will actually get to take.

The experience from start to finish was excellent, and I cannot recommend them enough. Our group was a bit complicated with dietary restrictions, including shellfish allergy, gluten-free, vegan, no red meat, and no pork. Chef Rich worked with my husband and me on the menu over a few phone calls to make sure we could accommodate all our guests. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt included in the experience with thoughtful substitutions based on each person's dietary need! At his creative suggestion, Chef Rich brought an additional assistant/bartender to create a "cocktail hour" for us. The bartender crafted a signature drink that all could enjoy and made a selection of cocktails based on our group's preference. The team was friendly, professional, and clearly cared about providing an outstanding experience. We are so thankful for them and we were all so impressed. Hire them, you will not regret it. He prepared 3-courses that featured a smoked trout appetizer, a perfectly cooked filet, and a memorable chocolate dessert - each course was exceptional. Chef Rich was organized, punctual, and communicated very well. Since we were staying at an AirBnb, we did not know what dinnerware would be available so Chef even brought plates and silverware. After the meal, he left the kitchen cleaner and in better shape than he found it. We will be raving about this experience for years. If you are looking for a private chef or caterer, look no further than Five Star To You.

Most people had been there before, but it was my first time experiencing a cooking competition. The chefs working made crepe-making fun and approachable. I'd be interested in taking a cooking class here as a date night someday!

SE Asia Street Food class This is our second class with Cook St. first time was a Mediterranean class years ago with Chef Devin don't remember but it was very good. Two people per station they prep all the ingredients and it's really beginner friendly without any culinary background. Cook St is really brave on the variety of options on world cuisines. Check their calendar they offer French, Mediterranean, Asian, knife skills, and professional programs. My favorite recipe was the 'Khao Soi' a Chin Haw dish influenced by Yunnan Chinese. You can find it at northern Thai restaurants they sell it off menu, it tastes similar to a 'Tom Kha' soup. I'm already looking at the calendar for the next class. Stephanie is not only a great chef, but also a great instructor; she knows how to explain things in a way that non-chefs will understand, all while making her classes fun, not to mention delicious! But there is more than one vegan recipe that has worked its way into my regular rotation, thanks to Cooking for Luv. You'd be surprised how handy it can be to have a few animal-free recipes in your arsenal. Even the DESSERTS are healthy! Not that you can tell by how they taste. So imagine the pleasant surprise when the same friend had the same 4th of July party exactly one year later, only this time to discover that the person responsible for the most amazing food was her! There was so much thought that went into the food.. what I mean is, not only was it delicious, but there was something for everyone (vegans, paleos, veggies, people that just want to pig out and eat deep fried pickles with the best sweet and sour sauce... I didn't even know that was an option in life until that day). I digress. Ok.. so here you have all these different types of food, all delicious AND all following one unified theme.. 4th of July. In other words, even though there was something for everyone it didn't look like a pot luck dinner where everyone brings something different. My mind is being blow b/c I didn't appreciate this awareness until right now, as I am typing. I think this is one of the things that separates people that like to cook and make contrasts for the sake of just being different (nothing wrong with that for sure!), and a true chef. I would highly recommend her and my girlfriend and I are looking forward to having her do a private cooking class/meal with our friends! Dave ps: here site and facebook page rocks too!
