Dude, sweet. What a place. Here is the thing. This place started in 1996 as a craft brewery when it wasn't cool to be into craft beer. Check this out, my dad have been coming here since then. Great place and I can't say much about the food but it's been good but as far as the beer: awesome! Arizona is just starting to tap the keg as far as getting respect in beer and this is place is the one to start at. Their go to is the kilt lifter which is a good start if your not into craft beer. We got into some other stuff, namely the Raj: an IPA, which lives up to its name, puts you in a hoptastic trance on the get go before you get into their other journeys. Try the Tandoori Raj, you'll want to eat some chicken tandoori with this one with hints of saffron on this one. Amazing We were then instructed to try the oatmeal stout on cask, yep awesome. Go for it, it's not a meal it's a journey in toasted hops, best stout in Arizona. There was the same version with chai accents which in my opinion was better than the cask. They had the next tasting room, and it's a new fresh breath from the traditional brewery food and brew standard. We got hooked up with a flavor of a few brews, and we were grateful. My wife and I tried this place yesterday. After a long day of traveling we decided to try some flights of beer at this brewery I selected specifically since they had dark beers. Our server Ethan was very friendly and the service was great. Food is good considering this is a brewery. Options for dark beer we tried made me feel mellow. Ambience is great including music. TL;DR: Come for the beer, stay for the Arizona chicken rolls, and be ready to duke it out in the parking lot. Ahh. Four Peaks. I used to go here all the time as an ASU student to unwind with beer and appetizers after a hard test. Four Peaks is THE major craft brewery in Phoenix and you have probably seen their beer (namely the Kiltlifter) at the grocery store. Their brewery on 8th street was originally where they ran the microbrewery operation before they expanded and gained popularity. Apparently back in the late 1800s the building used to be a creamery and you can still see bullet holes from the "Wild West" days of yore. Fun fact. Now they keep the location open to serve beer, bar food, and allow you to sample some special release beer that won't make it into the grocery store. I've always enjoyed the ambiance and the experience of dining or drinking here. If the weather is nice, you an sit outside and enjoy the fresh air, otherwise there is a lot of seating in the large interior or at the bar. The whole place smells exactly like a brewery, which I am a fan of. It can be a bit loud when during busy hours, but I have always liked it as a place to get drinks and talk with friends in a more relaxed setting than a bar. Drinks: I have pretty much enjoyed all the beer that I have tried here. If you are unsure, you can order a flight to sample 4-5 at a time. The Kiltlifter is their classic beer, but since you can find that at the store or most other bars, I would recommend trying something that you can only get here. For some reason they do not bottle/can the Oatmeal Stout beer, so I usually go for that. As a stout fan, I think it lives up to my standards. Ultimately they have a lot of drink options that even if you aren't a beer person, you'll probably be satisfied. Food: Basically what you can imagine as any American bar food, but the quality is actually pretty good! For appetizers, the artichoke dip or chicken quesadillas are delicious, but my all time favorite are the AZ Chicken rolls. Oh my god, they are amazing. It's like a large fried egg roll filled with creamy chicken and cheese in a southwest sweet/spicy dipping sauce. I will typically just order that as a main meal. I have had a few of the entrees before, but nothing too memorable. Burgers are decent but definitely not the reason people come here. General notes about parking and such: They have a very small parking lot in the back behind the brewery but it's very small and difficult to navigate. There is also a good amount of street parking all along 8th street. It might be a challenge to find parking during busy hours - Friday or Saturday evenings. Similarly, during busy hours you might be waiting 20-30+ minutes for a table depending on your group size, but you can sit at the bar and order food/drinks while waiting for a table. Most recently I went at 7PM on a Wednesday and only waited 5 minutes for a table for 5. The other note is sometimes they heavily enforce the 21+ age limit and will not let anyone underage in unless they are accompanied by a parent. So just keep that as an FYI in case you have a younger friend who might not be able to get in. Brewery Tours: So I love beer, I love breweries, and I love brewery tours. Four Peaks was the first brewery tour I ever went on and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I remember having to pay like $5-10, getting a commemorative pint glass, and a token for two free drinks after the tour. Not sure if they still do that, but currently on their website it looks like you can do a tour for FREE every Saturday morning, you just have to register so they don't overfill. I would definitely recommend it and then stay for brunch + beer after the tour. I would also ask about a pint glass or drink tokens if you do the tour, since they used to do that. P.S. I noticed another review mentioned that they thought the water here tasted amazing. I learned about their water on the brewery tour! They thoroughly filter their water so it's super pure and add in the mineral makeup to fit with the beer that they are making. The Sunbru for instance is a German style Kolsch beer, and they add the appropriate minerals to simulate German water. They serve all of that water to customers at this brewery so that's why it noticeably tastes better! read more

My boyfriend is a huge Vikings fan (next year guys) and wanted to visit this location because he read that the owner is a Viking's fan. So a few Sunday's ago we showed up before the morning game started. It was already packed so we put our names on the list. We were seated quickly. I think our server's name was Amber. She was AMAZING. We ordered a few food items, bloody mary's, beers, and coffees slowly throughout the game. She was always checking up on our table and the other ones without being overbearing. She must also have hawk eyes because the second a water glass was near empty she was there refilling them. The drinks were really tasty and the food was alright. It seemed like standard bar food to me but we were in a bar so duh. Making beer seems to be what they focus on and I thank them for that.Also I don't know what it is about their water but it tasted amazing. I don't care if that sounds weird because it is true. In case you were wondering the Minnesota won the game against Detroit that Sunday. Many fans cheered that weekend, but sadly not the following games. Great place and we shall return. *Side note: This was not promoted through Four Peaks but someone else told me to sign up for an app called PintPass to earn money while visiting breweries. I downloaded it, checked into Four Peaks, and earned $2 on the app. I think you have to earn a certain amount before cashing out to pay for your tab. I am new to using it and don't frequent breweries often but figured to mention it to those on here who might. read more

Well, I am embarrassed to say that we have lived in the east valley for several years and today is the first time we have stopped in to Four Peaks on 8th Street in Tempe. It is set back a little from the street and the parking is somewhat limited. I believe there is some street parking, but there is also parking in the back. This restaurant was a former dairy years ago so it is large and roomy inside and just the kind of place we like to visit. We decided to sit at the bar, a usual for us. Our wonderful server was Jade and she was exceptional. We sampled a couple of beers before deciding on a Kilt Lifter for my husband and a Golden Ale for me. We split an order of fish and chips for our meal since we were not too hungry and it was an early lunch. The beers hit the spot and so did the large 3 piece order of fish with the great steak fries and tartar sauce with lemon wedges. We only stayed for one beer each since it was early in the day and we were both full. But we will definitely go back to Four Peaks. This is a place that is not too far from our home and we really liked the ambience, beer and food. I will also add that every server we spoke with was very helpful, friendly and totally customer service oriented. This place is very popular and I can see why. This place is nice. They brew on site and have the tanks visible, which is cool. Beer selection is amazing and there is a large variety of food. Food is good, but not great. We love this place strictly for the food! The hostess' at the front are always nice but the last two times the service has been beyond terrible. Today we came in around noon and you could tell from the start that our waitress didn't want to be there. Not to mention she had cat hair alllll over her clothes and reached over our plates multiple times which grossed us out. If you come here, it better be for the beer and not the food. I ordered the enchiladas which was supposed to be one of the best things on the menu. Sad! They were very small like the size of taquitos! Sorry I don't have a pic! They were baked/burned onto to a steel plate which means I left much of it on the plate. Then they give you a hearty helping of beans and rice to compensate which wasn't bad. I expected better based on the number of reviews on Yelp. This place was very awesome and you could tell that they really appreciated your business. They have indoor and outdoor seating with TV's everywhere, so will definitely be coming back for the playoffs. They have a memorabilia shop too, so grab some four peaks merch while you're at it. I am a big fan of the kilt lifter, but they have so many more to offer when you come here. I got one of the IPA's and it was really good. We also got an order of the wings, but would assume you can't really go wrong with any of the options. Unfortunately they don't have any happy hour deals because of Covid, but understandable given the circumstances. Overall, give this place a try if you're on the edge. One of the top breweries you can go to down here with a lot of options to choose from. The location isn't the greatest, but just sit inside if that's the biggest issue. read more

Easily one of my favorite salmon BLTs I've ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly and was moist with a good sear. The sandwich is perfectly balanced with the crispy bacon and fresh sliced tomato and lettuce. The fries are always to die for. I order them just on their own sometimes when I visit. They are crispy, light, and always hot and fresh. Seasoned perfectly and have the signature beer batter taste. The customer service was fantastic. Our server was great. She let us take our time and offered suggestions when we asked. She was good at communicating with us and made sure we were taken care of. Definitely don't hesitate to eat here for happy hour, lunch or dinner. They won't disappoint. read more

I love love love the bar!!! We arrived late in the evening after a day of wondering and shopping around AZ. We decided to Yelp the area and found this restaurant with tons of reviews and great ratings. We arrived after 9p on a Saturday night and we found parking in the back parking lot. It was packed but luckily someone was leaving. We walked towards the front and as you enter you are carded. There is lots of patio seating and a sitting area/ corn hole game to the right of the patio. There is a lot of indoor seating and we decided to grab a high top in the bar area. Luckily, it was a lively night because the AZ college football game was on. Talk about die hard fans! Love the spirit and the energy from the locals. I never felt out of place and we felt comfortable have a drink and grubbing on late night eats. I ordered the Pear Ale and it was light and crisp. Enjoyed my 16oz-er! I ordered the cheeseburger (Swiss) and fries with no bun. Well my burger came out with a bun (which is fine), but I ordered my burger med rare. Unfortunately, my burger tasted like it was well done. The inside was totally cooked through and it was dry. I had to ask for mayo, mustard and ketchup. The fries were salty, too, so I barely touched them. Service was good for the most part. Had to ask for condiments whereas the condiments should be offered or available on the table. Atmosphere and ambiance was awesome and I did enjoy hanging out with the locals! read more

Decided to come here for Valentine's Day dinner. What a great decision it was. The food was amazing. We had the chimichurri plate ? It was a plate with cheese and cut up meat's and some tasty sauces... It was scrumptious! We also shared a plate of chicken tenders that were cooked to perfection. The french fries were crispy and well seasoned. We also tried a few different samples of beer. All were so tasty. We had a wonderful waitress who was attentive and knowledgeable. One day business trip in Tempe and decided to stop in for lunch before my flight. Based on the Yelp reviews, I knew it would be crowded and probably hard to get seating for one. Grabbed one of their tasty kolsch beers and decided to just to just order at the bar. The bartender helped me craft a custom burger that was delicious and paired well with my beer. Great atmosphere and friendly service. I popped in during the day but I'm guessing this place would be super fun to hang out at night.
