I was seen by Brent Davis, PA-C for dermatitis that had plagued me for six months. My hands had been raw, irritated, and painful for months. This discomfort even interfered with my sleep. This was my first experience with the Four Seasons Dermatology. I felt that Brent was total engaged in our conversation and that he understood my concerns. He suggested a remedy. One week later, my hands were healed...enough so that I could applaud him! I will definitely return as needed. They didn't even give me a five minute consultation and I have hormonal acne and they were just trying to put me on meds so if you don't wanna take meds for your acne, I would not recommend going to this place. I don't like leaving reviews, but my appointment left me absolutely dumbfounded. I waited 8 months (!!) for a referral appointment from my physical with my PCP to have a bothersome (bleeding, irritated, and itchy) mole on my jaw removed. The provider looked at it less than 2 seconds and said, 'nope, it would have to be excised and you'll have a scar' (to which I said I'd rather have a scar) 'well, we won't do that here and you'll have to self refer to plastics and then it's cosmetic.' Huh?? Do dermatologists not do excisions? They did remove another on my scalp with no issue, so what's the difference, because that one is not visible? Not happy, will be getting a second opinion elsewhere, and not returning. read more

I have been a patient with Four Seasons for many years. This year I am finding it impossible to contact them. I have made 4 phone calls which have totaled 1 hour and 23 minute of hold time. After this wait I get an answering service that assures me 4 Season s will get back to me. I have yet to hear from them. When I try to connect using their website I either get a blank page or a page with an error message. I am in the process of joining a different practice. read more

This place is a joke. I waited 9 months for an appointment for myself and my daughter. When we finally had an appointment for some facial blemishes, they said they couldn't perform the procedures at their office and that I should contact Dorset Dermatology. Our appointment was less than 10 minutes and cost $150. When I tried calling them about my bill, I couldn't get ahold of anyone. No one answers the phone there. I recommend skipping this place and going directly to Dorset Dermatology. They answer the phones, I got in immediately and they only charged $95 to actually laser the blemishes. Also, two years ago I went to 4 Seasons to have a cyst removed from my toe. When I finally hit in, they said they don't remove cysts. What?! Dr. Steve Partilo saw me in December 2022. Gave a cursory look and prescribed no treatment for my eczema which is causing itching and bleeding. I found another dermatologist who prescribed prednisone and triamcinolone acetonide. I feel that my new dermatologist listens and cares about my complaints. read more

In hopes of finding a dermatologist that could be considerate and helpful I was referred to see Steven Partilo, MD. Not only was he abrupt and rather emotionally cold, but made me feel extremely uncomfortable when briefly looking over my skin. He also looked below my panty line without asking. I was amazed how terrible this office was. I thought it only me until I read reviews. The Dr. I saw was a joke. He looked at my chart and asked what he could do for me. My face was a mess from rosacea. He said he didn't know what to do, but would give me a sample of a drug that would clears it up for an hour and then come back worse! Are you kidding me? Then they didn't have any samples, which was fine. Go to UVM Dermatology...I've seen Dr.s Goldman and Piette, who are great. Forgo the residents, you pay the same and it's a crap shoot with them. I went to four seasons in February for a simple cyst removal in my back. When I returned home two days later the wound opened up completely, I had to go back and the doctor decided to put stitches in so he open the wound totally up cleaned everything back out put stitches inside and outside. My stitches immediately became infected as I told him I could not have Vaseline on my body and he put Vaseline on my body anyway. And then he had us continue as he told me that it will not bother my skin on my back. Which then I became so infected, I ended up with three infections and was almost into septic shock because I was shivering and I had a fever my husband had to take me to the emergency room. They remove the stitches my wound opened up to about 2 inches around and I had to keep going back every single week to have all the skin cut off from my back. It was the most excruciating thing it took about six months to heal and I have a horrendous scar in the middle of my back read more

It was a disappointing visit. I was led to an exam room by a pleasant young woman, she asked a few questions and let me know the doctor would be in shortly. The doctor arrives along with the young woman who stays in the room with us. Shortly thereafter during the exam comes a knock on the door and another young woman enters. I have no context as to why there are now two additional people in the room watching my exam. The doctor spoke directly to me, but she also spoke to the two young women who were themselves speaking to each other, although quietly. Aside from the primary reason I was there, there were a few other issues I noted on the pre-visit questionnaire that I wasn't asked about nor did I bring up at this point because I really didn't feel comfortable. I was quoted 60$ over the phone then I get there have it done and now it's 175, THEN o get another bill for 130 from a lab?!? Never was I spoken to about sending anything to a lab?!? I have been contemplating whether I should go back for my yearly check up with this group and after reading through reviews, I now have the validation, that I am not alone, with the (not so good experience) I had, and with that will be finding another place to go. Although my initial exam I felt was thorough, the outcome of my procedure left me with a horrible scar. I have had two procedures now, one done in the Central VT area and one done at this office. The one done at the Central VT facility, you can't even see the scar. The one done at this facility, (as Elizabeth L expressed in her review of 2/6/22), is the worst looking scar from a simple procedure that I had a year ago. I thought it would look better and fade over time, but it's awful looking. No comparison to my first procedure where you can hardly notice it. I was a little nervous going into this place with all the negative reviews I saw but I was so impressed. Mcgowan was awesome, she took her time to make sure all my needs were met. This has been my second visit for my yearly check-up. As a registered nurse I am not impressed with the physical body exam. I was told to leave my underwear on (I guess you can't get a melanoma on your butt cheeks!). IShe never examined my scalp or even around my hair line on my neck. I will not go back. I am very faired skin and have had issues with precancerous and a squamous cell skin cancer. They are NOT very thorough and you can be in and out of the exam in fie minutes or less. Burlington use to be the go to place for excellent medical care, but I don;t believe this is any longer the case! read more

Dr. Partilo was super friendly. He explained everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions, and had a great bedside manner. His receptionist greeted me promptly and kindly, and the check out was easy. He did a small procedure and told me exactly what to expect. He was also honest enough to suggest a plastic surgeon for a second small procedure as he thought I would like the result better. BEWARE!!!! Received invoice for services and they failed to include the $75 fee they pulled out of thin air and charged for the deposit. When I called and asked they said "oh our invoices don't show that, it was for the visit fee" What??? Misdiagnosed skin cancer. For a dermatology practice, this is as bad as it gets. Stay away!

I would give them negative stars if I could. This place is the worst!!!! When I got insurance through my work place, I was excited to see the dermatologist for rosacea I have grown up with, and to have a skin tag removed from my neck. I made an appointment at four seasons dermatology for this issue. I went to their office 15 minutes early, it's a beautiful office. After waiting for about a half an hour I was ushered into a waiting room and told to put on a hospital gown. I was confused as the rosacea is on my face, the skin tag on my neck. The physicians assistant came in and curtly told me that she was checking me for moles. I explained to her that I was here for rosacea on my face and to remove a skin tag and she told me I had to make a different appointment. I tried to explain my insurance only covers one appointment to the dermatologist and it was really important to me to deal with the issues I made the appointment for. In a nasty manner she told me that she does not have the time to spend with me that my PCP does, and I should really talk to my PCP about my weight, that's what I should work on and that she doesn't have time to spend with her patients like my PCP does. What? Did she really just fat shame me? My PCP is awesome, did she really get nasty because my PCP actually takes time with her patients??? I thought I was here for my skin on my face and neck? I really wanted to deal with my original issues so I actually did make another appointment. On the recommendation of my doctor, I called to confirm the reason for my appointment and was assured that it would be dealt with. On my next visit I was again treated rudely by the PA. She seemed annoyed that I was even there, quickly sprayed my skin tag with nitrogen, and then wrote me a prescription for a $385 tube of cream. I tried to explain to her that I can't afford that, were there other options, but she rudely said well you'll need to find a way if you want to deal with your rosacea. She pushed me out the door in exactly 13 minutes. Sadly, a month later the skin tag is still on my neck, and I have seen another doctor to deal with my rosacea. My doctor encouraged me to call them back and have them remove the skin tag as I have already paid to have it removed twice. When I called the office the PA told me "well that happens you'll just have to pay for another appointment" I can't help but feel that I've been scammed, I just hope that people read my experience and choose another doctor. These people should not be in business and should be ashamed of themselves read more

Underhanded billing practices. Dr was not honest about the costs related to a procedure and then charged additional fee on top of the regular procedure fee, which was pretty high to begin with. When I called and challenged this, I was told we could have said no.... HA! This all could have been managed better by 1) explaining the additional costs upfront, or 2) not adding additional fees that were NEVER disclosed, 3) removing the additional fee once it was pointed out that it was undisclosed and did not make sense. But alas, none of there was done therefore we will be taking our business elsewhere. One final note, the appt was rushed, I do not feel my skin was adequately checked, which is a bit alarming because the procedure was for removal of premalignant skin lesions. read more

I've seen Dr. Partillo twice now and he is nice enough but doesn't explain procedures, what to expect afterwards, what to do if any complications arise and he also doesn't speak of pricing. I had a "precancerous spot" frozen which took all of 5 seconds and he asked if there were anything else I wanted him to look at I said "no, thank you though" and he said okay, give this folder to the check out. The check out lady was far from pleasant. She needs a checkup on her patient interactions. Everyone else is very kind and accommodating but you do feel rushed and like not much care is given to actually talk to you about what may happen, what to look for etc. read more

I have gone here to see Elizabeth Hughes for many years and have always found the front staff efficient and responsive to any question I've had and Elizabeth friendly, patient and professional. On the one occasion where she had a concern, she was able to loop in a Doc almost immediately for a consult. I can't imagine going somewhere else. read more

Wow. I was super impressed. I called yesterday to make my first appointment. When I called they took all my info quickly and even offered an appointment the next day due to a cancellation. I went in today for my appointment after filling out my forms online, super handy. They were quick I check me in and I didn't wait long at all. I saw the doctor and she was very nice and knowledgable. Diagnosed me quickly and went on to treat the issue. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Yay! read more

The Medical Assistants are very unkind. While a patient there, I was dealing with acne treatment-something personal to me. The MA working with the PA was incredibly rude and judgmental while dealing with my case. Because they are near my home, I have dealt with them for a few years and they had a skin cancer removed from my back. However, I have found their attentiveness to patient's concerns has declined and their level of care is Insufficient. A barely four minute cursory examination borders on the subprofessional. It was apparent that Dr. Partillo seemed more concerned about seeing as many patients as possible rather than attending to those already dependent on his services. read more

Waste of time. I made an appointment to specifically learn about microneedling for acne scars. I said this when making the appointment on the phone and to the medical assistant who checked me in. When the doctor came in, she thought I was there for acne. When I said acne scars, she said that she doesn't know much about that because she doesn't work in aesthetic dermatology. Ok... She gave me business cards for laser treatment and facial peels, but does not know who does microneedling. I have to say that this is par for the course with dermatologists. I've had similar experiences at UVM and Dorset Street. As someone who has been to many dermatologists over many years, they all seem to lack curiosity about the latest in their field. Yesterday I saw a PA named Erin. My main concern was an acne outbreak and secondarily wanted her to look at a couple of new freckles/moles. I am pretty sure that my appointment was only slotted for 15 minutes (for $91 thank you very much). I found the entire experience to be rushed. It felt as if I was bothering her with my questions. She did not perform any kind of exam on me whatsoever. She didn't even ask me to take off my glasses or pull my hair back so she could get a closer look at my skin. She maybe asked me 1-2 questions. She also was extremely put out when I asked her to look at the two freckles/moles. She told me she didn't have time and then looked VERY briefly. At the time I asked her we had already finished the acne part of the consultation and I had only been in the room about 8 minutes... She also did not have a great delivery in telling me that my acne is not likely to clear up even with treatment. I mean, obviously that will be upsetting news and she was kind of laughing about it. Anyway, maybe they were just having a bad/busy day but the whole thing really bothered me and I won't likely be returning. I definitely don't feel as if I was examined or treated and that was the entire purpose of the visit. read more
