I left that expo with her contact information and emailed her October 2019 to start the Honeymoon planning. Kim is a miracle worker! She had immediate comparable side by side cruise quotes for our destination, Tahiti. She took every idea I had and put it into our travel plan. She thought of everything from timing, transfers, air and hotel. Come 2020, Covid-19 hit and we decided to postpone our wedding along with our honeymoon. Kim made it so easy and simple to re-book our honeymoon in 2021. Along the way, our chosen cruise line canceled our trip so Kim had to start from scratch but she was so quick to react. She has about a 24 hour turnaround time! She keeps me in communication the entire time, we call, text and email. Fast forward to October 26, 2021, my husband and I go off on our honeymoon. It was everything I imagined and more. Thanks to Kim! Kim took my idea, and ran with it. She delivered and exceeded my expectations! We already booked another trip for October 2022 for our one year anniversary. I bet my money it will be just as amazing, if not, better! Kim, there will never be enough "thank you's" but THANK YOU! While Kim had strong connections to Sandals, we ultimately decided to go with a non-resort wedding. With nearly 100 guests in attendance, Kim was the main point of contact for hotels, transportation to and from the airport, as well as tours. A great thing about working with Kim is the ability to reserve activities in advance using credit cards and giving guest the ability to pay over time for those who needed it vs. wiring cash overseas. Regarding the wedding, during the planning period, Kim was the main communicator to the Chef, and did great in conveying what was most important to us. Ex: a full dessert bar was a MUST - see photo:) This also included gathering quotes before we ultimately decided to go with Chef Manuele Fratini. My wife raves about Kim being so warm and bubbly over the phone and making her feel like she really cared. It looked perfect due to its saltwater pool and gorgeous photos online. There were so many great reviews...what could go wrong? We booked the guest house as some of the other options that were less pricey did not have pool access according to one of the owners. So we paid the extra couple hundred for the pool. We arrive and all seemed as described in the guest house. Within the first hour my daughter was crawling anround and picked up a cigarette that was on the floor just under the couch. No big deal. We unpack and head to the pool... The pool was green, smelled, and was cloudy (nothing like the photos online). I message right away and get a text back indicating the levels were tested that day and were fine. Hmm. At this point I didn't know what we could do other than make the best of it. We decide to make some food as we were told the kitchenette included a convection oven. Nope nothing but a microwave. So we order take out instead $$. My son wanted to roast marshmallows bc I told him there was a fire pit outdoors. We head over and it's filled with leaves. This was also the case with the outdoor bbq. Not a big deal but we didn't spend the money to clean the amenities, and we were worried about the smoke if we left the leaves. On our last day my son opens a little decorative box in the living room to find a green rotten string cheese yikes! It is important to note the guest house has sliding glass doors at the entrance of the guest house. Directly in front is where guests of the main house will park. Our view was of 5 cars and there was a lot of activity so we had to keep curtains shut the entire time. FYI- There is no sink for washing dishes or baby bottles. We had to make do with the bathroom sink. Once returned I let them know how the stay was and I was told they found out the pool had been clogged and they were out of the country. They offered a discount next time which was appreciated but I honestly feel we should have been compensated. I sent a text and emailed my thoughts but am getting no response. They were quick to respond when it came to booking and taking my 500$ deposit. I'm so bummed about this experience because it is a beautiful place if it were maintained and if the pool were safe to put the kids in. Last photo is of us making the most of it on the rock :)

Recovery is not for the faint of heart. It takes a willingness to listen, learn and get out of your own way. It takes dedication to yourself and your program. At House in the Hills not only do you find yourself in a safe neighborhood and a beautiful house, but you also find the support, encouragement and community it takes to foster a successful recovery program. The sobriety industry is often brutally based on greed and corruption. There are many who are way more interested in taking advantage of your situation and your insurance, than they are of assisting you in finding the help you need. I don't know what I did to discover a place like House in the Hills where they only care about helping you take it one day at a time at a fair price and with love and understanding, but I would gladly do it a thousand times over. I most honestly say that I would not be where I am today without Lorelei and the family environment she's created at House in the Hills. This place is a large part of my journey and my success.
