I have been going here for mani/pedi for 3 years. Always excellent service and Mai is great! If I can't get Mai, others have done my nails and feet. I am truly surprised by some of the negative reviews. If I didn't like the nail shape or even a color, I kindly express that I would like something else before they move to the next finger. No one has ever complained, and I have seen others assist to ensure that I get the squavol, square round nails that I like. I got my nails done and when she was done with me I watched in horror as she used the same emery board on the next client! Emery boards are porous material that can't be effectively disinfected, even with soaking in chemicals. They can harbor and transmit bacteria and fungal infections between clients. Emery boards should be discarded after every client! Also when you come in there's no communication about how long the wait is. They just tell you to have a seat so you don't know if there's 3 more people in the basement that will service you immediately or if you're waiting for the one tech upstairs. read more

was really excited to get cat eye nails here after my friend recommended that i try this nail salon out. i couldn't communicate with my nail lady properly which i think was main issue but there was someone there who could. i have concerns after looking at my nails afterwards: 1. gel was set on my skin. didn't double check before going under the uv lamp 2. bubbles- which affected how the cat eye effect looks 3. didn't push my cuticles back so my nails looked extra short 4. no cuticle care at all beforehand 5. inconsistent, gel not fully on the edge for some nails other than that i really like the color. i'd go back for a fill. the first time, my thumb nails weren't smooth when the top coat was set (you could see and feel the streaks of the top coat) usually you have to wait till it rounds out before setting it under the lamp but i was able to tell her and she redid it with a smoother top coat. thankful that she could fix it or else it would've bothered me since i constantly see them. the total was $77 for a diamond dip and cat eye (extra $15). overall i think she worked really fast and rushed them (not that i was in a rush) so they didn't turn out as nice as i hoped. read more

I am disappointed. I made an appointment for a regular pedicure and dip manicure. Over 2.5 hours and $100 later, I left with one of the worst mani-pedis I've ever had. During the service, I had to point out obvious mistakes, such as smudges in the polish and uneven nails, which were not fully fixed. The shape and length I requested were also ignored. To make matters worse, two of my toenails and one fingernail were left in pain afterward. When I went to pay, the technician lingered at the counter and seemed to be waiting to see how much I tipped, which felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. read more

I was in DC for a conference and my nails looked horrible. I work a lot and didn't have time to get my nails done. Found Four Seasons near the convention center. I didn't have an appointment and was taken in right away. I thought it was the Four Seasons hotel but it's not associated with the hotel. But their service was like the Four Seasons! A male nail technician (think his name was Quy) did my nails. I did the gel mani and pedi. I upgraded my pedi to the Aloe scrub and massage. My feet were swollen from traveling. After the massage and soak, my feet felt a lot better. He did a great job. This is the best nails I've ever had. I'm so rough and my nails and the polish usually chip or scratch. But it's been almost 2 weeks and they still look like I just had them done. Very Berry is a pretty color. They have SO many choices on color. Saw this place on yelp with its rather subpar reviews, decided to give it a shot since it's close by to the restaurant I have dinner plans for after. I got a gel pedi and acrylic full set. I've been wanting to try out ombré nails and I got just that. I called at 11am for a 430pm appointment, arrived at 440pm and was immediately seated for me pedi. It was rather light traffic in the salon at that time (Monday afternoon), it picked up at 6:15 ish. I don't particularly understand the immense negative reviews. The nail techs are friendly, it is apparent that their charisma and professionalism drew in regular clientele, almost 90% of the women I encountered in my 2 hours were regulars, the nail techs knew these people by name and the services they regularly get. Stopped in here at 3:30pm, several hours before my bday dinner on a Saturday (4/6/24), after I made an appointment online. They were super full when I arrived, so I'm shocked the online system allowed appointments. They're really disorganized when it's busy, with not enough staff and DEFINITELY NOBODY looking at the online appointment system bc of the customer volume. The basic pedi is supposed to be 30 min and the full set gel (glued on tips, powder dip, gel polish) is supposed to take an hour. I expected to get out by 5pm bc I still need to get home for a shower and then get to the restaurant by 6:15pm for the reservation. They didn't start on my nails until 4pm, and finished in a rush by 5:45pm. Luckily, I was able to push back my dinner reservation to 6:45pm. One thing they don't tell you on their website is that the manicure is a manicure, and other services, like dip, gel, acrylic, etc, DO NOT INCLUDE A MANICURE, meaning they don't trim your cuticles or do any nail CARE. If you want that, IT'S EXTRA, which is f'g insane. Since I was already paying over $100 for the two services, I chose not to add to that, because basic nail care should be included in any service! By the way, I agree with one of the other reviews from last year: the place is unhygienic, especially by California health department standards. When I arrived, the door was closed (because it was cold outside?) and the inside of the salon was SWELTERING WITH REALLY BAD AIR QUALITY. The stench of all the nail chemicals was super strong and concentrated. I complained, so they finally opened doors on either end of the salon. If I hadn't said anything, they would've kept everything closed. The nail equipment they use on you is NOT CLEANED BETWEEN CUSTOMERS. I literally saw equipment just put back into little baskets after they were used on me. In California, the equipment comes out of little plastic packages that are air sealed - that's how you know they're sterile and only used on you. Initially, I was happy with the service, but the real test is always HOW LONG IT LASTS. One week later, a full quarter of my thumbnail broke off when I was flipping the latch on a TRX band during a workout. The other quarter broke off during the rest of my workout. (Mind you, I'm not a manual laborer that works a lot with my hands doing rough work. I just sit at a computer for 8 hours a day for work. The most I do with my hands is handling weights at the gym. I don't even do dishes bc I have a dishwasher in my apt.) I went back to the salon to get the thumbnail fixed on the same day in broke, and they did it free of charge. The next day (today, only 8 days after the service was given), THREE MORE NAILS BROKE! My right index nail broke when I was putting on a shoe, and the other two on my left hand broke in the shower. For those who are keeping count, that's 40% of my nail tips that have broken off less than 10 days after a FULL SET GEL service that cost $80! The last time I got fake nail tips glued on and acrylic nails was maybe 20 years ago - I remember the tips being much thicker and harder than the ones they put on me, and the powder paste they painted on in layers was much thicker. The only time an acrylic nail ever broke on me was when I fell off a bike and my nail was so well-glued to the acrylic that my nail ripped off and my finger bled. Now THAT was quality. I REALLY WISH I COULD GET A FULL REFUND FOR MY NAILS. There's no reason at all why 40% of my nails should be breaking from just regular life. I'm from Orange County, CA, where great nail salons are everywhere. I can't believe how difficult it is to find a good nail salon in the DMV. At home in Irvine (a HCOL city), I pay about the same price for a powder dip manicure THAT INCLUDES NAIL CARE and a regular pedicure, and the manicure lasts about a month, sometimes longer, and the pedicure also lasts about as long (unless I'm going to the beach often). Since things cost the same in both cities, it's clearly an issue of quality - the materials used at this salon don't seem to be as good and/or the service technique isn't as good. read more

I hate to be this person but this was the worst pedicure I've ever received. My nails were bleeding by the end of it. There was nail polish all over my toes and i asked them to fix it. The woman doing my nails yelled at me that the color I picked will get on my toes no matter what, took the nail polish off and told me to pick a new one. I stated I was uncomfortable and just wanted to pay and leave. When I got to the front I asked to pay half because I'm going to have to go somewhere else to get them done now and the woman came over and started yelling at me to the point that I was in tears and legt. I never write reviews but this was the worst manicure I've ever gotten. Tried out this place for the first time because I liked that their callous treatment was included in their spa pedicure instead of an added service like other places. I had to wait at least half an hour past the appointment time I had booked before my services began. Spa pedicure was okay but not the best but the manicure was awful. I had to get gel removal and instead of doing the normal soak in tin foil + cotton balls or gel polish removal solution, my hands were placed in a ziploc sandwich bag barely filled with enough acetone to cover my nails. I also had almond shaped nails and he filed them round. I asked if he could make them more almond shaped and so he just filed one side of each nail a bit more, making them all crooked and uneven. Each hand also wasn't filed to the same length, so all my nails on my left hand are longer than the right. I ended up just refiling them to even them out & make them not crooked myself at home. The place was also not hygienic. All the tools are used on the same people, without being put in a cleaning/disinfectant solution and the UV lights are used for both feet and hands. Someone was getting a gel pedicure when their UV machine died & was plugged into my tech's station. He then used the same one without wiping it down or anything for my nails! They also didn't have a great/wide selection of colors. Not worth the $87 + tip and definitely won't be coming back or recommending to people! read more

I've paid $40 for just a fill in with those annoying "extra" charges they tack on just to get you to pay $5-$10 more than necessary at other salons. Besides the price, the technician did an AWESOME job. She was very meticulous and took her time, didn't cut me once, and was very sweet and focused. I was out of there and very happy with my nails for the first time in a long nightmare-type run of horrible places. Unhygienic, painful and messy work! I got a powder gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The equipment was visibly dirty and they don't even make an effort to clean it between customers. The UV lamps, buffers, files, etc. all had visible filth. Painful: During my pedicure, the technician scrubbed my feet with dirty and rough block and when I told her to stop because it hurt (and also because it was gross), she said "just a little more." I don't even have rough heels or calluses. It served no purpose! When I got my powder gel manicure, I was stunned to see that they were using UV lamps to cure between every coat of powder! The whole point of a powder gel is that it doesn't need UV to cure and I've been getting long-lasting powder gel manicures (4-5 weeks) for years that do not use the UV at all, let alone at every step. Exposing myself to skin cancer for what? When I asked about it, they insisted that the lamps were not UV and that they were necessary for powder (both lies). When they cured my nails in the lamps, they emitted this putrid burning smell (gee, is it because you're not supposed to cure powder?) and they physically burnt my nail beds. When I told them it hurt, they positioned a fan towards my hands as they continued to cook my nails. Messy work: They smudged both my big toes when putting the foam sandals on. When I asked them to fix it, they proceeded to swirl a brush with acetone around in the existing polish instead of just redoing them. They saw no problem with the messy result. I left the salon with very messy looking toes because at that point I had already been there 2.5 hours and I was pessimistic that they could even salvage them. The powder gel manicure was mediocre at best. The layers were too thick and left an uneven, bumpy texture. Lastly, the whole process felt chaotic and unrelaxing. Between the pain, burning smells and poor technique, I felt very stressed at this spa. I might have been able to let it go if the service was quick or cheap or even if the horrible process yielded great results. Alas, the process was slow and expensive. read more
