I drove 45 minutes to have pedicures here with my mom. I had appointments for both of us at 10am. They started my mom but no one came to do mine for almost 30 minutes. We had plans right after so I wasn't able to get a pedicure. Pretty unprofessional. When I called this place and asked for the pricing for a gel pedicure , I was told it was $37. When Im soaking my feet at the salon they tell me the basic pedicure package plus gel would be $52. I asked why there was such a difference in price between when I called over the phone and now. They stated they didn't hear me say "gel pedicure" over the phone. Although I was disappointed that I wasn't told the correct pricing over the phone and I now had my feet soaking in the water, I decided to continue with the pedicure but with regular polish this time. When it came time to paint the nails Telam painted the first 3 nails on my toes and stated "wait for the second coat so you can see the color". She did the second coat on those three nails and I politely asked her to stop Because I did not like the color and would like to change it. When I told her that she looked at me upset and slammed the nail polish on her cart to get up and get the color book. When she came back and sat down and continued to paint my other foot the color I told her I did not like and again I politely asked her to stop. I choose another color that I like, instead of taking the other polish off before starting the new color, she just painted over the previous color. I continuously asked her to stop and she ignored me. I called over Ben as he told him to let him know if I had any questions, and I told him what was happening. The lady started to raise her voice at me saying that why didn't I tell her after she painted those 3 nails, which I had but she continued painting the rest of the nails. She then again slammed the other nail polish on her cart and grabbed the cotton balls to remove the polish. I was no longer comfortable getting my nails done by her as she was visibly angry, so after she removed all the polish I thanked her for her services and tried to get up, before I could get up she grabbed my ankle and pulled it forcefully down on the rest. I told her to please release my leg and she was holding it down with so much force and when I tried again to pull my leg back she forcefully yanked it toward her. I told her to stop pulling my leg and she finally let go. I got up and paid what I need to pay and left. Worst experience ever!! Will never be recommending this place to any of my family or friends. They give you a card to come back after 7 days if there's a chip or a problem...well I couldn't come back in 7 days since I was in Hawaii on vacation. Thank God I wasn't there for a special function with my nails turning different colors! I came back and showed them, I decided to go ahead and try a different gel product since I was there. Went in for a dip removal, and I was given a bowl of acetone and was told by Taylor the receptionist to scrub them. 15 minutes later someone came a filed then down for two seconds, then told me five more minutes. I scrubbed them all off before anyone came over again. Taylor handled it poorly. Clearly I had taken all my polish off myself, and she told me someone was coming over to finish it for me (when the work was done). Then tells me that sitting too long with my nails in acetone is bad for my nails (when thats how they left me?!?) A waste of time and money--went in to have someone else do it and did it all myself. I have been getting my nails done for years. Recently, I moved, so I had to find a new nail place. I had a new set put on, by the time I was ready for a fill,b 2 of my nails had fungus. I tried to explain that she had not a good job. My heels are still hard and calloused and peeling. The polish on my toes is really bumpy and uneven. But she could not understand anything I was saying. I ended up having to go somewhere else to have them fix everything Jojo nails left not done. I did pay extra for the heel treatment. I did tell her when she got done that it wasn't ok and that she had barely touched my heels. I got nowhere because she couldn't understand anything. I was frustrated with the experience and now I am sitting somewhere else having to have another pedicure. Hopefully this place will do a better job. I normally give a place a few tries before reviewing. But this was my second and last visit here. I went on a Saturday, arrived at 6:20pm. They close at 7:30pm. I wanted a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I was talked into doing the package for $60. Sat down and both technicians started going to work without even talking to me. I noticed the pedicure tech taking her time, but the gel manicure tech was rushing through. When she pushed back my cuticles, she pushed one side then simply swished over my nail to the other side, not even touching my cuticles on the other side. She did this for every, single, nail. She did the same with the sanding. Just sanded the main area of my nail but didn't bother to go all the way to the edges. They both didn't even ask me what kind of shape I wanted, they just filed away and kept talking to each other. I didn't care about my toes, but my hand nails I can't have too square. I had to ask her twice to reshape and she seemed irritated each time. SO SORRY. By the time they got to painting my nails, it was only 6:50pm. I was slathered with lotion on my arms then left alone until my toes were done. When she came back to clean up I pointed out the hard skin she left on the side of one nail that had actually been made into a point that was catching my shirt. She again, seemed a little irritated that I asked her to clip that skin away, but she did it. The next Tuesday, yes, just 3 days later, my gel manicure got a chip. I called the salon to ask if I could come in to get it fixed. The receptionist said okay and asked what time. Then I asked (to be sure) that I wouldn't have to pay for it. It was only 3 days and gel shouldn't be chipping. She started to tell me that I would have to pay for it unless I could pick out the tech that did my nails. I told her I didn't get her name because she hardly talked to me. She said to just come down. So, I get to the salon and as soon as I told them I was the one who called with the chipped nail, they asked if I saw who did my nails on Saturday. I told them I did not see the lady and another offered to fix it for me. She was very nice and got me out of there within 15 min. The fix wasn't great, but it worked. But now, on Saturday, another 4 days after the fix, the exact same spot has chipped. I am not excessively rough on my hands. I work in an office and type or file papers all day. It's not like I'm banging my nails around. At this point, I'm not even going to bother getting it fixed, although I'm sure I'd get attitude about it again if I called. I was hoping to find a decent salon that had later hours so I could go after work, but I guess not. I paid $30 for a gel manicure that was mediocre and chipped, TWICE. Another $30 for a pedicure that was okay, but didn't have much communication to indicate what I wanted. The pedi is the only reason for 2 stars rather than 1. I will gladly pay more at another salon that takes their time and will get my nails to last much, much longer. read more

HORRIBLE. I went in for dip nails. I was cut badly around my cuticles and the technician proceeded to put a gel top coat over the dried blood. My nails are terribly shaped and have dents from not being sanded properly. The dip powder and gel top coat go well above my cuticle line. I do not at all mind paying for a service as long as that service is still done with quality. Since this salon has been recommended to me it has been the only place that I have gone to. Wow I'm so disappointed... I went in on the 19th of this month and I'm beyond without words I spent over $100.00 in Total to do both my hands and pedicure. not even two hours after leaving my nail pain chipped mind you had gotten gel which was odd to me . by the 26 I had two nails broke and more than half my polish was off. This last time I went the girl doing my toes was FaceTiming and not paying attention and ended up cutting my toe nail where it became infected! She didn't do anything to help it and shrugged it off. I went to Jojo's this afternoon to get my nails done. I have been going here for the past 6 years. Today I had a new lady I have never had before. She was friendly enough but when she was cleaning my cuticles, she cut my toes! Not once but twice! Both toes are bleeding! And she proceeded to paint them! The alcohol in the polish burned. I have never had someone cause my toes to bleed. The polish looks like an amateur painted it, and it's mixed with dried blood! After, I was charged for services I never even asked for! I only wanted a classic pedi with gel polish, but was charged for callous removal! What?! They did give me a ten dollar discount, technically only compensating me for the services I never requested. Very diplomatic response to my review. However the response failed to acknowledge that the technique that JoJo Nails and many other nail salons use to remove gel nail polish is detrimental to nail health. What precautions is one supposed to take? While I appreciate the response, and the support of a very well written and informative article, the overall message received from this response doesn't take responsibility. Lots of flowery language and pseudo agreement but I see no admitting. No matter how thin ones nails are, no matter how horrible ones diet is (both not issues for me) these nails salons should insure that they are not compromising our nail health. Simple. Being in a "rush" would fall on the techs. Unless we as clients specifically tell techs we're on a time crunch, but most women carve time out of their schedules to make time to get their nails done etc. So the rushing falls on the salon, not us as consumers. And what "tips" are there to give? You can educate the masses on foods and or supplements that would strengthen nails like biotin etc HOWEVER the fact still remains that the salons need to do their part to do good and not do harm. Ive never heard of soaking at home, what am I paying the salon for if I'm soaking at home? And if that was an option to promote nail health, why didn't anyone tell me that at Jojo Nails? It's been weeks since I wrote this review and had my last gel service at Jojo nails and the portion of my nails that was damaged by them is still growing out, and once it grows and I have a little length BOOM they crack. This isn't because I have a hormonal disturbance or a bad diet. I actually have a history of having very strong nails, nails so strong I've accidentally harmed myself and others. It is a result of the thinning of my nail plate... Anyway, I'm hoping there will be a shift in the future of the nail industry and that women will look for salons that not only make your hands pretty on the outside but PROMOTE AND PROTECT the health of your nails underneath. CAme here due to the fact that my usual spot where I go was booked, the reviews brought me here BUT unfortunately it didn't meet the expectation. 1 day after and it looks like my cuticles were never clean and "gel" is already chipping... how, not to mention it's pricier then most nail places, where I go usually is $44for pedi and gel manicure, they take there time and are very detailed, here I payed $52 and the process was rushed, so rushed that after my pedi the nail tech was rushing back and forth that she accidentally smeared my toes and had to redo them, never again... I was looking for a good nail salon that is local. I go to a salon that is half an hour drive from me. With my busy schedule, that is not convenient anymore. I looked up few nail salons with decent ratings around and decided to try them till I find a good one and be a regular at. Unfortunately, Jojo nails was today. I had high hopes for that place and came home very disappointed. Tran is the one that did my nails. First of all several of my nails were not straight and I had to point out each one of them. Then she hurt me while cleaning it and bled. I showed her at first a design i wanted and she said she can do it then when it was time to do it, she said my nails were too small for it. Then I showed her a different flower that she failed miserably to do, erasing and redoing like 5 times. Then I showed her the most simplest flower ever that she erased once. I got charged $35.00 for a design i didn't want originally and I don't really call it a design. I had way more complicated designs than that for less. Also, not related to nails, the older blonde lady that folds and cleans there, needs to be friendly and stop staring at costumers and make them not comfortable. Ask for Trish and dip! I'm almost hesitant to recommend her because I'm selfish when they are this good. I make sure to make an appointment about every 3-3.5 weeks which is how long my dip nails last when she does them. She is so sweet and attentive to my needs for long lasting nails. The salon is very clean! They use liners and new tools for pedicures-which is a must. I had a salon prior and tried JoJos on a whim and haven't been elsewhere since! Their prices are reasonable. There is a good selection of colors. They have a receptionist which allows for great flow and communication on arrival. They offer water to their guests. All the ladies who have done my toes have been great, I don't find it necessary to request one in particular but I'm more selective with dip nails.
